Chapter 29: Story Time
Mya's P.O.V
Tinkerbelle dragged me away from camp and into the gloomy forest. Unable to convince her otherwise, I let her guide me until we reached a tree house. It seemed welcoming enough. "Where are we?" I asked, worried that she was going to get me in more trouble than I already was. Then reminded myself I had nothing to loose.
"My house." She replied, climbing up the ladder to get to the wooden house.
"Oh." I watched her enter, but I stayed put, not wanting to go through the effort of climbing up the ladder. "So, why are we at your house?"
"To get this." Tink exited the tree house holding up a small pouch. It didn't take me long to guess what it was.
"Pixie dust?" I raised my eyebrows. Then my eyes suddenly lit up. "Please tell me you have come up with an awesome master plan to leave the island without me dying." I pleaded.
"Well... No, not exactly."
"...So is it to kill Peter?" I suggested.
"No-"
"Permanently damage him?"
"No!" She exclaimed. "Gosh you are just like your father, always wanting revenge."
"I'll take that as a compliment." I grinned.
"Mya, revenge gets you nowhere." She spoke wisely.
"You wanna know what else gets you nowhere? Doing nothing!" I cried. "And we, are doing nothing."
"If you just listen for a moment, I'll explain why I brought you here." I glared at her but kept my mouth shut and sat down, cross-legged, on the ground. Once Tink descended the ladder, she joined me.
"A long time ago, before I came to Neverland, I met this woman." She started. Yay. Story time. "She was filled with hatred and need of revenge. I, despite what the other fairies told me, tried to help her. I stole some pixie dust to help her find her true love. I knew that was all she needed to be happy. And if she was happy, she wouldn't be evil."
"...Is this one of those stories where you're subtly trying to send me a message?" I asked.
"All I'm trying to say is that love can change people, it can turn them good." She explained.
I pretty much got the message of this story. "You honestly think Peter could ever turn good?"
"I never mentioned Pan. But the fact that you did means you do."
"I do what?"
"Think he can change." She insisted. "Trust me, Mya, even the darkest people can turn good."
"Did this woman turn good?" I inquired, referring to the story.
Tink pursed her lips and looked elsewhere.
"...I'll take that as a no..." I sighed, standing up. "Apparently not all people, huh?"
"She was afraid. Afraid of letting herself love."
"Oh yeah and Peter is going to be so willing." I replied sarcastically.
"Maybe not, but he is already in love with you. This woman wasn't so there's your difference." She made a good point. Damn it. "If she had known him then she would have loved him no doubt."
"What if he doesn't really love me?" I asked, making a good point myself.
"That's what this is for." She waved the pouch of pixie dust in my face.
Third Person
"How is it that every single time I leave one of you in charge of Mya she manages to escape?" Peter snapped at the Lost Boys all standing before him, with weary faces. "Felix?" He demanded an answer.
"The fairy's gone too." The Lost Boy replied with his head down.
Peter's mouth took the shape of a hard line as he walked towards him. "I hope I don't need to remind you of what happens when you disappoint me."
Felix kept his gaze down, not wanting to look into Pan's eyes. "No."
"Good." Peter stepped away from him and turned to the rest of the boys. "Now, make yourselves useful and find the girl." He ordered to all of them, weapons appearing in each of their hands. "And if you come across the fairy or the pirate... kill them."
Mya's P.O.V
"Okay so do we need some sort of spell or...?" I asked as I stood before Tinkerbelle.
She held the pouch in her hand, pulled out some of the pixie dust and threw it in my face.
I coughed as it went in my nose. "Err... nothing's happening." I commented impatiently as the green pixie dust was all over me. "This was a bad idea we should just-"
Tink interrupted me by throwing more pixie dust in the air. "Patience." She said, as the green dust started to form a line that led into the forest.
"Oh." I pursed my lips. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to follow it. What if Peter wasn't even at the end of it? What if he was?
"Go!" She pushed me in the direction of the dust. "You know what to do." She assured me when I glared back at her.
"What about you?" I asked. Peter must be looking for her, she was a prisoner after all.
"I can take care of myself, Mya." She smiled, urging me to go forwards. "Now go!"
Without replying, I took a deep breath and followed the pixie dust line.
Oh-ho what will happen now? I don't even know why I ask these stupid questions but yeah..
So obviously the story was about Regina, and Mya is going to see if Peter really is her true love, right about the time after he ordered the Lost Boys to kill the only two people she cares about. That's some perfect timing if you ask me ;)
