Chapter 26
Labour
The girls piled into Spencer's car, Emily was in the back with Hanna,
"Come on Hanna breathe," she was telling her.
Aria was in the passenger seat trying to call Caleb,
"He isn't answering!" She cried anxiously,
"He's taking Harry… to some… indoor Snowboarding place… in Brookhaven," Hanna panted as Emily tried her best to fan her with a magazine which Spencer had left on the back seat,
"Try contacting Toby," Spencer told Aria,
"Maybe he can go get Caleb," she suggested.
"Spence can you drive any faster!" Emily asking looking from Spencer to Hanna beside her who was still trying to remember how she had done this before with Harry,
"I'm going as fast as I can Emily!" Spencer replied agitated,
"Unless you want us all to get there in an ambulance!"
"TOBY! It's Aria, you have to get hold of Caleb! Hanna's in Labour! He's taken Harry to some snowboarding place and we can't get a hold of him," Aria was shouting to Toby over the phone really fast,
"Oh right, sorry," she answered him, taking a deep breath and explaining again slowly.
"Tell him we don't have time to get back to Rosewood and that we are taking her to Warren State Hospital here," Spencer informed Aria.
"No!" Hanna cried out,
"It has to be in Rosewood, they know the situation there," she added.
"Hanna if we don't get you to the nearest hospital you'll be having these babies in the back of Spencer's car," Emily explained. Hanna threw her head back against the headrest in anguish and gritted her teeth through the pain."
"Oh my god," Emily cried out,
"Was that a contraction?" She asked.
***
"Please help!" Emily exclaimed running into the hospital,
"My friend is in Labour outside," she added. Two nearby nurses ran outside with her to Spencer's car where they helped Hanna into a wheelchair,
"You can't leave your car here mam," one of them told Spencer, who had pulled into the ambulance entrance on arrival at the hospital.
"Right, sorry. I'll move the car, you guys go with Hanna," she told Aria and Emily.
"Has Toby spoken to Caleb yet?" Hanna asked between panting,
"I don't know," Aria answered her,
"I'll try him again."
"I need Caleb!" Hanna cried.
Emily took a hold of Hanna's hand and gave her her best reassuring look, when honestly she was scared out of her wits,
"It's okay Han. We're here for you, we'll do everything we can," she told her.
"Yeah," Aria agreed,
"Including doing everything we can to get Caleb here."
By the time Spencer joined them the nurses had gotten Hanna changed and onto a bed,
"What did I miss?" She asked charging into the room,
"Not much," Aria replied,
"No your right," Hanna added,
"I'm still sitting here in….ahhhh… agonising pain!" She cried.
"Okay, okay," Spencer replied walking to the side of the bed,
"Have you tried that Lamaze breathing technique?" She asked,
"Oh yeah," Aria replied,
"How does it go?" She asked before she, Spencer and Emily all starting doing the breathing in succession, after which Hanna also joined in.
"I'm afraid you only 5 centimetre's dilated," the nurse told Hanna, after she and the girl's had already been there for an hour.
"Why is this taking so long?!" Hanna cried out,
"Their obviously waiting for their Daddy," Emily suggested.
"Yes," Spencer added,
"Toby's text said that they were on their way. They shouldn't be much longer. Toby's bringing them in the squad car," she informed Hanna. She laughed through the pain,
"I bet Harry's loving that," she said as she gritted her teeth through another contraction.
Aria pulled Spencer to one side,
"Do you think we should have called Mark?" She asked. Spencer glanced at Hanna, and then back at Aria,
"No I don't think she needs to deal with the possible outcome of Mark and Caleb being in a room together," she replied,
"Besides even if Mark is these babies father, Caleb is still going to be in their lives regardless," she added.
"I just really hope they're Caleb's," Aria whispered,
"Me too," Spencer replied,
"Both of them."
Aria looked at her confused,
"What do you mean?" She asked. Spencer bit her lip,
"Well," she explained,
"It's very rare, but some twins can have different father's," Aria's eyes widened in shock,
"Seriously?" She asked,
"Have you mentioned this to Hanna?" Spencer shook her head,
"It's like a 1 in 400 chance," she told her.
"Let's hope Hanna's not that lucky," Aria replied,
"Unlucky more like," Spencer added.

Down in the foyer Caleb, Toby and Harry rushed up to the front desk,
"I'm looking Hanna River's my…" he shook his head,
"I mean Hanna Marin, she's in Labour."
"Third floor," the lady told them as the three of them rushed for the elevators.
"Ahhhh! Where is he?!" Hanna screamed as she squeezed Emily's hand.
"Looks like your all ready to go dear," the nurse told Hanna having checked that she was now 10 centimetre's dilated,
"Now there's far too many of you in this room, I'm afraid only one of you can stay," the nurse told them firmly as the girls looked from her to each other. Hanna wondered if they were looking at each other deciding who should be the lucky one to stay, or the lucky two to leave.
"Hanna!" Caleb said as he entered the room and rushed to her side,
"You're here!" Hanna cried grabbing onto his arm, as he kissed the top of her head,
"Where else would I be?" Caleb asked her, as he stoked the stray hairs on her head away from her sticky forehead.
"We'll be outside with Harry and Toby," Spencer assured them both as the girl's left closing the door behind them.
"I'm so scared," Hanna confessed to Caleb as he took one of her hands into both of his,
"Why?" Caleb asked,
"You've done this before, and I'll be right here with you all the way," he added.
"Not just the labour," Hanna replied,
"But what about afterwards?" She asked, tears streaming down her face,
"What if they're not…. If they are…" but she couldn't say it. Caleb shook his head,
"Listen to me, it doesn't matter. I will love them just as much as I love Harry no matter what," she whispered. Hanna pulled him towards her and they shared a gentle kiss,
"Okay then," the midwife's strong voice erupted,
"Are we ready to start pushing?"
