Hi All, I'm really glad you liked the last update, like I said I am going to try to keep up the updating for you all, plus I do want to get back into writing again, as I haven't done it in so long. I wanted to include all the sweet encouraging things Caleb would have said to Hanna in labour but seeing as it isn't something I have actually experienced I was unsure about how to write about the actually giving birth, afterbirth etc. So instead this chapter picks up after she has given birth to both twins and they have been cleaned up and Hanna and Caleb get to hold their new born's for the first time. So here goes, enjoy x

Chapter 27

The Twins

"Here we are then, your handsome baby boy," said the midwife gently handing him over to Caleb wrapped in a blue blanket. Hanna watched as he took hold of their new son as though he was made of glass, she could see the tears forming in his eyes as he looked down at the bundle in his arms. He looked up at her and smiled, carefully walking over to sit beside her on the bed,
"Hey little guy," Hanna greeted her son gently rubbing her index finger against his cheek.
"And not forgetting his little sister," the midwife announced bringing over a bundle in a pink blanket which contained their daughter, whom she carefully passed over to Hanna.

The four of them sat there together in silence for a few moments before Caleb said,
"I'm so proud of you Hanna. They are just perfect," he told her. They both smiled,
"They are," Hanna agreed looking up at him beaming. Caleb beamed back at her and leaned down to kiss her passionately.
"Would you like me to send in your little boy?" The midwife asked,
"Yes please," Hanna replied looking over to her and smiling,
"And thank you for everything," she added. She nodded and smiled as she exited the room.
"I just can't believe they are here," Caleb told her after the midwife has closed the door behind her, which opened again shortly after as she showed Harry in and closed the door again on the family.
Harry lingered in the door way for a moment as both his parents looked over to him,
"Harry," Caleb gestured for him to join them,
"Come meet your new brother and sister," he said. Harry perched himself on the edge of the bed beside Hanna and gazed at the two sleeping infants. He looked back at Hanna and Caleb and gave them a beaming smile,
"This is amazing," he cried.
"Hey, shh," Hanna gestured to him gently,
"They're sleeping," she told him.
"You have to be the best big brother you can to these two Harry," Caleb told him,
"They're going to need you," Hanna added. Harry's face dropped for a moment,
"But you'll still love me just as much even with them here right?" He asked,
"Of course silly," Hanna told him, wrapping an arm around him,
"We love you all equally," Caleb replied,
"No matter what," he added with a look at Hanna, and she knew what he meant.

Just then the door opened again and in came the girls, followed by Toby,
"Hey," Aria greeted them,
"The nurse said we could come and take a peek," Spencer told them.
"So what do we have?" Toby asked,
"One of each," Caleb told him.
"Yes," Toby exclaimed,
"Pay up Emily," he said turning to Em, who sighed.
"Sorry," she looked over to Hanna and Caleb as she handed a note to Toby,
"Had to do something to pass the time out there," she added.
They all laughed.
"They look so peaceful," Spencer observed leaning over to see the twins.
"That won't last," Toby added and they laughed again.
"That's okay," Aria joined in,
"You have each other to get through it," she concluded.
"Plus you've done it before," Emily added gesturing to a tired looking Harry.
"Speaking of," Spencer whispered,
"Would you like Toby and I to take him home with us?" She asked.
"You don't mind?" Hanna asked,
"Of course not," Toby answered,
"We'd be happy to," Spencer agreed.
The group said their goodbye's to Hanna and Caleb, and they each just managed a goodbye with a half asleep Harry before Toby carried him from the room.

Hanna and Caleb laid the twins down in the cots which had been provided for them,
"Oh Caleb, I don't have any of my things," Hanna realised,
"I should have asked the girls to bring some things back for me tomorrow," she added.
"I can go home and get you anything you need if you want me to," Caleb told her,
"That is if you're okay here alone with the babies?" He asked. She smiled and nodded,
"Well I'm not really alone. There are plenty of nurse's here if I need them," she reassured him.
"You go home and get some rest too. I'll see you in the morning," she told him.
"You're sure?" He asked and she nodded and yawned,
"Well you get some rest to," he told her,
"You've had a busy day." She smiled and nodded,
"I will," she assured him. Caleb leant down and kissed Hanna passionately,
"I love you," he told her,
"I love you too," she replied sleepily. Caleb turned and headed for the door,
"I'll be back first thing in the morning," he told her, but as he turned around to look at her one last time he noticed she had already dropped off to sleep.
