Chapter 31: Commanding Duel
Third Person
The Lost Boys returned to camp to find Peter was no longer there, Felix greeted them in his place. "Did you find the fairy or the piarate?" He demanded, annoyed.
"Weren't we supposed to look for the girl?" One of the younger boys asked, confused.
"The girl has returned." Felix informed them. "Now answer me."
"No." Another boy replied, his head down.
"Pan won't be too pleased about this." Felix stated, glancing at each and every one of them. He stopped as his eyes met the ones of a particular Lost Boy. He was dressed like them, fair enough, but he was taller than most, almost as tall as Felix himself.
He narrowed his eyes at boy, recognizing his features. But not as a Lost Boy. As a pirate.
Felix pulled his sword out right about the same time Hook pulled out his. And the fight began.
Though Felix was simply a teenager, Hook couldn't deny he was well trained. The other boys also pulled out their weapons but Felix shouted at them. "Don't! I'll finish him off." Hook expecting this was all to earn Pan's favor. As all the Lost Boys desired.
"We'll see about that." The pirate grinned, clashing his sword against Felix's once more.
The boy might have been good, but the pirate was better. With a quick shift of his sword he disarmed the boy, sending his weapon flying away, and held his own at Felix's throat. "Hasn't anyone told you not to fight a pirate?" Hook flashed him a wicked smile and was about to strike a blow when he was taken aback by a familiar voice.
"Stop!" He turned to see his daughter, standing in the clearing. The sight of her distracted him from all else, and he was unable to prevent being kicked in the arm, and ripped of his sword.
Felix grinned at him, holding the sword in his hand. "Let's end this, shall we?"
Mya's P.O.V
I watched as Felix stole the sword from my father. I tried to warn him but he just started at me, like he was in a trance or something. "Dad!" I cried as the Lost Boy held a weapon against him.
I felt someone move from behind me. Peter.
I wasn't sure what was going on between us. And I definitely had no idea what he actually felt towards me. But I guess I was going to find out now. "Peter, please don't let him hurt my father!" I begged as he came to stand next to me, observing the scene. Everyone's eyes had turned to look at him, including Felix's, who where searching for his approval. But his face was blank. "Peter!" I cried again.
"Pan, this is what you requested." Felix reminded him, gesturing towards my father.
I frowned. What? "You asked him to do this?" I demanded, bewildered. How could he do that? To my father... To me!
Peter didn't reply. He just stared forwards.
"How could you do that?" I continued. "You're seriously going to let him kill my father in front of me?" I restrained tears from forming in my eyes. I was not going to cry. He didn't respond. I scowled. "And then you claim to care about me. Yeah, I can see just how much." I added sarcastically.
"Drop your sword, Felix." Peter finally spoke. I sighed in relief. Felix didn't.
"What?" He exclaimed. "You're going to change your mind because of a girl?" He did not look pleased. "Ever since she arrived you've changed. You're not the leader you once were." Felix continued, snarling. "You- you've become... weak."
At this word, Peter looked him directly in the eye. "Weak?" He spat the word, and stepped towards Felix.
"You're letting her decide whether to kill him or not." The Lost Boy moved the sword closer to my father's throat. "You ordered us to kill him not long ago. You wanted him dead. And now you let this girl change your decision."
"You want to kill him, Felix?" Peter eyed the other boy. "You want to take a life? Go ahead."
"No!" I screamed, rushing forwards to stop him, but found myself blocked by Peter's arm.
"If you wish to kill him, I won't stop you." He continued.
How could he say this? Was he crazy? ...Was he drunk?
Meanwhile, I noticed my father kept glaring at me and Peter. Crap. He knew something was going on. And if he came out of this alive, he was going to kill me.
Apparently what Peter had told Felix worked. The boy glared at him furiously, but then dropped his sword.
"See?" Peter smirked. "I'm not the weak one here."
...Was he trying to infuriate the crazy boy further? 'Cause that wouldn't end well for any of us.
I tried to run over to my father but Peter's arm was irremovable. "Peter, let me go." I ordered him, trying to free myself.
"You know I can't do that." Peter glared at my father, avoiding my eyes. "He'll take you with him."
I sighed heavily and stopped fighting. "Do you trust me?" I asked, gazing up at him.
He removed his eyes from my dad and turned them to me. "What?"
"Do you trust me?" I repeated.
"You haven't given me much reason to." He pointed out.
"Fair enough." I agreed. "But you have to believe me when I tell you I'll return to you, okay?" He studied me. "Also because I can't leave the island without facing imminent death." I added brightly.
He glanced back at my father, then at me, and removed his arm.
I walked the first two steps cautiously, just to make sure it was safe, and then ran into my father's arms. "Dad!" I cried, hugging him.
He held me tightly in his arms before letting me go. I turned around to see that Peter and the other Lost Boys had left. And that did not go unnoticed by my father. "I think we have a matter that needs discussing." Oh-ho. This wasn't going to be good...
