Let's just take a moment of appreciation for the witty title of this chapter...

Kay NOW you can scream and shout at me for not posting. And though it's probably hard for you guys to believe, I actually do have a life, so sometimes it kind of gets in the way of my regular posting. I apologize once more.

ALSO, I don't know if you realized that I didn't just choose for Wendy to come back, she actually does it the story, so I'm trying to stay true to it. I hate that bitch, were it my choice, she'd be dead by now. No offence. She's just so.. spineless.. I'm hoping for a Wendy/Mya show off though.. that would be fun.

Chapter 40: Plenty Of Squids In The Sea

Mya's P.O.V

Fortunately Bae was still at the beach when I arrived, occasionally tripping on tree roots as I went. Stupid nature.

"Bae!" I called out, hurrying towards him.

He was sitting cross-legged on the sand, staring out at the beach. "You're late." He observed as turned to look at me.

"Yeah sorry about that… Peter's a dick." Was dick an appropriate word for a fourteen year old? If that screwed up his life… I shall never know.

Bae didn't falter at my language, he asked another question instead. "Did he see you leave?"

I shrugged. "I always leave." As crazy as that sounded. "And he usually finds me about ten minutes later, but only if he bothers to look for me." And since I made his apple disappear, pissing me off, I doubt he would.

"He lets you leave?" Bae asked bewildered. "I thought you two didn't get along."

"That's precisely why he lets me leave." I pointed out. "I get on his nerves so easily that his only remedy is letting me wonder off once in a while."

"But he could lock you up or-"

I interrupted him before he gave Peter any ideas. "Let's get back onto subject, okay?" He nodded. "Did anyone see you leave camp?" I questioned.

He started to shake his head but then thought twice about it. "Well, the tall boy stopped me, but I told him I had to… you know…"

"Yup. Don't need any more detail than that." I stopped him, admiring his escape excuses. They were almost as brilliant as mine.

"He let me go." Bae continued. "And then I saw him go back to sleep."

I nodded. "Great. Now let's get moving. It won't be long before they realize it doesn't take this long to go potty."

Third Person

Mya's excuse of having to go you know where may have worked once, but Felix knew better than to trust Baelfire on returning. And he did well not to, as the boy had no intention of returning.

Listening in on his conversation with Mya, Felix couldn't decipher what they were up to, but he knew his duty was to inform Pan of it.

When they started moving, the Lost Boy had to choose: return to Pan with the information he now possessed, which was limited, or follow them. He chose the latter, knowing Pan would dismiss a conversation between two kids, not believing it to be important in any way.

Mya's P.O.V

I brought Baelfire to the shore where my father had once brought me. Squid Shore.

Yes, I baptized it.

"We're here." I proudly announced.

"But… there's nothing here that there wasn't three miles ago." Bae complained. Ungrateful brat…

"Do you honestly think I would have walked three extra miles had it not been necessary?" I raised my eyebrows at him. "You're underestimating my hatred for physical exercise."

"So what's the difference then?" He inquired.

"This part of the island is where the squids are." At least there was one, I didn't know if there were more…

"Squids?" Bae squeaked.

Hah, the kid was scared of an itsy bitsy squid… Well crap. Because so was I.

"They're harmless." I dismissed. "Just stay away from their tentacles… Or any other part of it…"

"Why do we need squid ink?" He asked.

"It can paralyze any magical creature." I spoke wisely.

"Even Pan?"

"Yup." I nodded. "Don't worry. I tested it." I added winking.

I reached down and grabbed a seashell, blowing into it as my father did.

"…Nothing's happening." Bae pointed out after three whole seconds.

"Give it time!" I exclaimed, panicking inside. There better be another squid…

"Well, well, well." I snapped around at the sound of a familiar voice. Felix.

"Well." I thought I'd add a fourth 'well' to that list.

"You followed me?" Baelfire asked, rhetorically, I hope. It was pretty obvious the bastard had since he was standing before us.

"You know, stalking is considered a crime." I pointed out.

"Maybe in your world." Felix scoffed.

"So what? You don't have any crimes? Like no rules at all? I mean, Peter must make some rules, how do you keep everyone in check otherwise?" Rules. I feel like this topic of stalling was a step up from my usual weather statements.

"Pan makes the rules. We follow." Felix was clearly not in the mood to take government… or in this case, anarchy.

"And he gave you permission to stalk each other?" I crossed my arms.

"You're not one of us." Aha! Loop hole.

"Yes, we are. I'm a Lost Girl and my friend here," I glanced at Bae, "is a Lost Boy, as Peter made sure he would be." I grinned at Felix. "So you stalking one of your fellow Lost Boys is against the rules, I believe."

"Not if Pan orders it." Well… fuck. "Now answer, what are you two doing here?"

That question was answered with a loud call from the sea. The squid had arrived.

"You were planning to kill that?" Bae questioned, his mouth ajar at the sight of the humongous squid.

"I never said it was a good plan." I defended.

"Yes. You did. You bragged about it the whole way here." Baelfire retorted. "You said you did this before, how?"

"Well… I may or may not have had a little help." I confessed.

"You're going to get yourselves killed. Give up this idiotic plan and return to camp." Felix tried to persuade us. No one insults my plan and gets away with it.

"I have another great idea."

"Another implies that you actually had a good idea before." Bae chipped in.

"…Shut up." I eyed him, and continued with my brand new great idea. "Why don't we feed it Felix? Then it will be happy and let us kill it. Or more likely Felix's brutal personality will poison it from the inside." I smirked at the Lost Boy.

"That's actually not such a bad idea." Bae grinned. "But seriously, what are we going to do?" What does he mean 'seriously'? I was serious…

"…Fight it?" I suggested, and turned to Felix. "Will you do us the honor of going in first?"

"I'm not even part of your plan. Why would I risk my life for no reason?"

I sighed. He wasn't as obtuse as I had hoped… "I get it. You're too scared." I looked at Bae. "You're not scared, right?"

"I'm not falling for that." Damn it. "But I will try. After all, we're doing this for me." I suppose I should have been more pleased that I didn't have to risk my own life, but Bae risking his didn't bring me much joy.

"Together." I corrected him, though I would have preferred to just sit back and watch rather than actually go against a gigantic squid. Why did I have to be such a good person?

He nodded. I believed for a sword to appear in my hands, and so did he.

Well… here goes nothing.

Third Person

Wendy was dropped off close to shore by Pan's Shadow, and her arrival didn't come off as much of a shock to the immortal boy. He had a feeling the girl would return for her friend, but that didn't mean he was letting any reunion happen.

"Look who came back to play." Peter smirked as Wendy struggled to exit the water, stepping on her own damp nightgown.

"I'm here for Bae." She admitted right away, her voice trembling.

"I know what you're here for. But as you recall, you were granted permission to leave last time, or the one condition that you would not return. And yet here you are." Peter grimaced.

"You said you would let my family be." Wendy replied.

"But Baelfire isn't your family now, is he?"

"Not by blood. But by heart."

"Well, you should have specified that, Darling." He stepped closer to her. "Because now, not only am I going to keep your friend, but I'm going to have to keep you too."

Mya's P.O.V

There's a fine line between fighting against Peter and this squid. And Felix's annoying commentary wasn't helping at all.

"Keep your sword steady. Look at what you're doing. You're aiming at the sky. Are you trying to kill it or turn it into sushi?"

"Shut. Up." I groaned. "It's not that easy fighting off a thousand tentacles twice my size."

"Or maybe you're just a poor swordfighter." He suggested.

"Well if you're so great why don't you do it!" I exclaimed. And fair enough, a sword appeared in Felix's hand and he threw it straight into the squid's… heart… I suppose.

"There." He sneered.

"…Lucky shot." I commented, then whispered, "take the ink while I distract him," at Bae.

"Or maybe I'm just skilled." Felix smirked.

"And a jerk." I felt the need to add, also because bickering meant him having to come up with awesome comebacks to top mine, and that meant his full attention would be on that, and not on Bae.

"Was killing this thing the aim of your little trip or was the something more?" He inquired.

"Nah, we just wanted an adventure." I shrugged. Please make my lie believable.

"You might as well call it a death wish." Yes! He bought it! "C'mon now, we need to return to camp."

He turned around as a shovel appeared in my hands. I think we all know what happened after that.

"Bossing me around, not a good idea." I stated as I knocked him out.

"Ouch." Bae asserted, coming up next to me.

"Meh, he deserved it." The show off… "Did you get the ink?" Bae nodded, waving a small bottle in my face. "Now for the escape part of our plan…"

Until I'm Mya completed her quest, she shall not see Peter. He is a distraction. I forbid her. And she'd probs throw cookies at me, as I expect you to do as well. But I CONTROL THIS STORY HEHEH *feeling powerful*
