30. The Siren's and the Dragon's Songs
She was a siren
who called too loud
to deafen one's ears
to the blow.
He was a dragon who raged
the countryside with beating wings
and balls of flames
That she hit back,
fira anger
blazing and muffling the siren's
call, till it was just a shriek
above the ravaged winds
he whipped
And he could hear the truth of her song
as she approached, and she
the rumble beneath beats
of wings
And the met at the meeting point in the skies
aflame, her fireballs in her hands and his
kept by his strong jaws
And they hovered in the air, staring
into the other's eyes, and the other, hidden, flames
within – and they forgot
A tall strong man that awaited her,
and the kind small lady for him.
