I think you guys need to build a golden statue in my honor.

BECAUSE IM BACK

WITH THE LONGEST CHAPTER EVER (okay maybe not)

Let me start by saying a few things:

1) Not really feeling the Tink/Hook situation right now, by maybe in the future (and by that I mean the next few chapters)

2) PYA. HI.

3) !WARNING SPOILER! (if you didn't figure it out already that is) I never understood what the coconut was. I mean.. a map? They said it resembled "home" so I'm sticking with that, not sure if I'll make it a map but my ideas are pretty clear right now

4) DO YOU GUYS WANT A SEQUEL? LET ME KNOW IN THE REVIEWS. This story is getting really awesome feedback and it's almost reached it's end (I say almost because I go with the flow so it could finish in the next chapter or in other twenty I have no clue)

I had actually started writing it with the idea of making Peter and Mya meet in season 3 of the actual show. Although let me just warn you that I stay true to characters, but never to storylines, (I tried in my other fanfiction), but I fail miserably. I hate having a storyline to stick to and just adding random speeches in the middle of it. So if I do it, I'm going to change it slightly. you are warned.

OR I can always just finish the fanfiction here. + adding the mini reunion at the end.

Let me know what you prefer! I usually choose myself but it's really all good for me so just let me know ;)

Chapter 42: Long Road To Freedom

Mya's P.O.V

I considered smashing the coconut on Bae's head. That would get him to stop drawing and listen to me.

But he insisted on cutting it with a knife, so I let him.

"It's hard." Bae struggled to cut the fruit.

"Well, duh." I gave him an I-told-you-so look. "Smashing it on your head would have been more effective."

"Funny." He scowled.

"I try."

He ignored my comment and managed to crack the coconut.

"If we don't leave soon we'll loose our chance." I warned him, worried the Lost Boys might find us, and worse, Peter.

"I thought you wanted to stay hidden." Bae replied, focused on his coconut.

"Yeah… Before it got boring." I commented.

"It's not so bad." He offered.

"That's because your company is stellar. Mine's mediocre." I flashed him a smile when he glared at me.

"It's open!" He exclaimed, as he coconut cracked, spilling it's milk.

"Damn it. I wanted to drink that." I sighed.

"You're welcome to lick it off the floor." Bae suggested sarcastically.

"Too bad I'm not an animal, unlike you." I moved towards him and took one half of the coconut, eating off pieces from the inside. I was starving. And the coconut was refreshingly delicious.

Bae stared at the empty coconut shell once we had finished eating it. "What do we do with this?"

"We throw it away." I responded, rolling my eyes at his stupid question.

"It could be useful." Bae contradicted me. "Like…" He placed the shell on his head. "A helmet."

I frowned at him. "Really? Has the lack of air in the cave damaged your brain cells or something?"

He sighed, taking his 'hat' off. "I'm bored too, okay? But I'm scared of leaving. I don't want to get caught."

"And we won't." I promised him. "Here," I took his side of the coconut and placed it on top of mine. Then, with my knife, I carved holes into top. "Now believe in a small candle."

Bae looked confused but did so anyways. A flicker appeared in his hands and he passed it to me. I placed it inside the coconut.

The light from the candle filtered through the holes, appearing up in the ceiling of the cave, to look like stars.

"Wow." Bae stared up, amazed. "How did you know how to do that?"

"My mother always made ones for me. So I wouldn't be afraid of the dark." It was one of the few memories I had of my mother.

"You were afraid of the dark?" He snickered.

"…Shut up." I scowled at him, handing him the nightlight.

"It's beautiful." He admired, still glancing upwards. "It looks like the sky. Like home."

"I'm glad it reminds you of it. Because you'll be there soon." I told him, getting ready to leave. "If we get out of here, that is."

Bae nodded and followed me outside. He blew off the light but kept the coconut with him as we wandered into the forest.

Third Person

Hook muttered to himself the whole way through the forest. They headed towards Tink's home, hoping to use magic to find Mya and Baelfire.

"We're here." Tinkerbelle announced at their arrival. The tree-house was a pretty obvious give-away but the pirate was so distracted from his own thoughts that he hadn't even realized.

Hook followed her inside. It was small but welcoming. Very existential in furniture but it was all Tinkerbelle needed. The pirate's gaze fixed on a small jar positioned on one of the shelves.

"Pixie dust?" He guessed the contents of it.

Tink nodded. "The last of it." She sighed, disappointed. The jar was barely even full, and the size was ridiculous. "I used most of it getting you out of Neverland, and then the note…" She trailed off. "There's basically none left." There was no need for further explanation. Hook understood what this meant.

He arrived to the conclusion. "We can't leave."

Mya's P.O.V

By now, I carried a map of Neverland in my head. The only thing rowing against me was the island changing every night or so.

"Just admit it." Bae exclaimed. "You're lost."

"I am not!" I stomped my foot on the ground like a small child. "I'm just confused as to where we are."

"That's basically the definition of lost." Baelfire muttered. I opened my mouth to threaten him when he interrupted me. "And you can't threated me by throwing this coconut." He wave the coconut, which I turned into a nightlight, he held in his hands. "Because I have it." He grinned as I closed my mouth.

…Damn it. He had the power now.

I started to walk again when, "I'm glad to see you two getting along." A voice spoke harshly.

I froze. Petrified, really.

I slowly turned to see the boy I had hit yesterday smirking evilly at us. I couldn't help but compare his smirk to Peter's.

Peter won by far.

Felix's smirk was too teethy… Okay concentrate, Mya. No time to discuss teeth right now.

"…Hi!" I greeted Felix with a big smile (not too teethy). "Sorry about the whole knocking-you-out thing." Felix's smirk turned into a scowl. "…It was his idea." I pointed at Baelfire, earning a glare from him.

He ignored us. "It took quite a while to find you two." He pulled out an object familiar to me. The anchor necklace. "I almost wouldn't have succeeded without this."

I frowned, glancing at Baelfire who looked just as confused as I did.

Felix rolled his eyes at our blank faces. "Pan used a locator spell to find you." He explained.

"But…" That didn't make sense. He didn't have anything of mine… I looked at the necklace again. Crap. "That can't be mine." I contested. "I threw it away!"

"Curious." Shit. "I recall you telling me you lost it." Peter's voice echoed from behind us.

Without making me turn, he stormed past us and besides Felix, his gaze firmly on me.

I repeat, shit.

Third Person

Tinkerbelle gave Hook a few moments to digest the bad news. They were stuck here. Forever.

"This can't be true. There must be more!" He cried, infuriated.

"I'm sorry, Hook." Tink's voice was small in comparison. "That's all there is left."

The pirate sighed, his hands running through his hair in despair. He cursed under his breath. "I'll go find my daughter." That's not going to help, Tinkerbelle thought. But didn't say so.

Hook had just about enough of this island. He was getting out of here. Or he was getting his daughter, and the boy, at the very least.

Mya's P.O.V

"Where were you heading?" Peter asked the both of us, though his piercing eyes never left mine.

"Err… Nowhere." I replied. Which was not a lie… technically we were lost. I admit it.

"Are you lying again?" Peter raised an eyebrow.

"No." My voice was shaking. I hated these under-pressure situations.

"Why did you leave camp?" He demanded.

"We needed the fresh air." Why. Do. I. Suck. At. Lying.

Peter scoffed. "With all this practice your lying should be pristine by now."

Ouch. "I thought we weren't prisoners." I retorted. "Why do you care so much where we go as long as we're in Neverland?"

"You disappeared without warning." Peter pointed out.

"Actually I remember saying I had to go." Right after I made his apple disappear. Hehe. I decided to leave that detail out though, to avoid irritating him further.

Peter rolled his eyes at me. Rude. "Regardless. I believe your need of fresh air has been appeased and now you must return to camp." He nodded at Felix.

"Well the air's a little stale over here so-" I halted my sentence when I saw Felix grabbing Baelfire. "Let him go!" I cried as the coconut I made for him fell out of his grasp.

"Mya!" Bae shouted. But despite his struggles, Felix was stronger. He dragged Bae away with him into the forest, leaving me alone with Peter. Goodie.

"What's that?" Peter gestured towards the nightlight that found itself on the ground now.

I reached down to take it. "A nightlight." I replied. Peter raised an eyebrow. "It makes light. In the dark." I explained sourly.

"I know what a nightlight is." He scowled. "Why do you have one?"

"Because Bae's afraid of the dark." That was pretty believable.

Peter didn't look suspicious of that. "Felix mentioned your little fishing adventure." He took a step towards me.

He was referring to the squid. I prayed he couldn't put two and two together, seeing as this wouldn't be the first time he caught us squid-handed.

I remembered Bae had the squid ink. Crap. What if Felix found it on him? Our plan would be ruined. Mostly because I am never going to Squid Shore ever again.

"We were bored." I said, trying to make my tone of voice sound completely innocent.

"You almost died." Peter stated.

Felix needed to learn how to keep his mouth shut. "I wouldn't go that far."

"Felix had to save your life." He continued. "And then you knocked him out." I looked down at my feet. "Why?"

"Do you really need to ask that?" I raised my eyebrows. "You know I hate Felix."

Peter studied me before nodding. Did he believe me? He then threw something at me, which I barely caught. "That belongs to you, apparently."

It was the pendant. "How did you find it?" I asked, curious. I had meant to asked that question since I had found it back at camp.

"The Lost Boys did." He shrugged.

I couldn't understand what was going on with him. He wasn't angry, or upset. But he wasn't his dick-self either… At least not completely.

"And why did you keep it?" I inquired.

"Does it matter?" He answered my question with a question.

I grinned. "Don't tell me you care." I taunted him.

"Keeping a pendant I made myself." He considered. "How does that prove I care about you?"

Kind of insulted here… "Well it's mine. Remember?" I reminded him. "And you could have made plenty more."

"Why are you so hell bent on demonstrating I care?" He spoke the last word with disgust.

"Because you do." I informed him. "I'm just trying to show you the light, as any good friend would do."

"So we're friends now, are we?" He took a step forwards. The gleam in his eyes worried me.

"Well… It takes a lot to be worthy of my friendship." I wiped some fake dust off my shoulder. "I'm quite the catch."

"I know." He grinned wickedly. "But if Baelfire managed, I don't see how extreme your demands are."

"He does what I say." Mostly… "Can you say the same?" No, he could not. The bastard never listened to me.

"And look where that got him." He said, ignoring my last remark. "Lost."

"Eavesdropping is rude." I scolded him, referring to my conversation with Bae.

"I could say the same to you." When have I ever… Oh yeah…

It was then Felix returned, with a face that showed no signs of victory. Had Baelfire managed to escape from him? I should give that kid more credit.

"Felix?" Peter raised an eyebrow at him.

"The boy." Felix let out, breathless. It was clear he had run all the way here. "He escaped." Yes!

Peter's eyes darkened as he stared down (well… up) at Felix. "How?" He inquired.

"I was attacked." Felix responded, increasing my curiosity regarding this whole affair. "By the pirate."

Third Person

Hook had indeed encountered Felix and Baelfire after he had left Tinkerbelle's tree house. Disarming the Lost Boy, he took Bae and they both ran as far away from Felix as possible.

"Thank you." Baelfire spoke as they stopped to catch their breath.

The pirate turned to the boy. "Don't thank me yet. I'm afraid I have some bad news."

Mya's P.O.V

I had to restrain myself not to smile at the mention of my father. Go Dad go!

"What are you standing there for?" Peter berated Felix. "Go find them!"

The Lost Boy executed Peter's demand, disappearing into the forest once more.

"I suppose this only brings joy to you." Peter speculated.

"You suppose correctly." I grinned, feeling proud.

"Revel in it while you still can then. It won't last long." He assured me.

My grin faded. "Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?" He acted oblivious.

"Being an asshole!" I spelled it out of him. "Why do you need Bae anyways?"

"That doesn't concern you." He apprised me.

"It does if you're planning on killing him!" I countered.

He paused for a moment, analyzing me. "I wasn't going to kill him."

I scoffed. "What were you going to have him do then? Wear a tutu and prance for you?" I could see it now.

"I had plans for him." He ignored my tutu remark. "But none involved his death." Peter seemed serious enough, but you could never really know what went through his head.

"I know your plans. You were going to take his heart just like you were going to take mine." Even though we established the truest believer wasn't born yet… Well I had to make my point somehow!

"But I didn't." He took a step closer, invading my personal bubble. "Take your heart."

"Yeah because it wasn't the one you needed." I pointed out. "Don't expect me to believe you would have spared my life otherwise."

He sighed, looking down. "You really don't get it, do you?"

"Get what?" I raised my eyebrows.

Instead of answering, he caught me off guard by placing his hand on my cheek, leading my head upwards so that I was staring at him right in the eye.

I didn't want to stare him in the eyes. That would completely distract me. Damn it. His evilness had no boundaries.

"I would never hurt you." His voice was gentle, calm. The voice I liked the most when it came to him. But I wasn't going to let him befuddle me.

I placed my hand over his and pulled it down. "But you did." I acknowledged. "Maybe not physically but…" I trailed off. I didn't have to explain. He knew what I meant.

Third Person

Baelfire took the news as anyone would have. In complete and utter silence.

Hook frowned at the boy, startled by his calmness. He had expected Bae to shout, curse, even cry. But not this.

"You're not going to say anything?" He raised an eyebrow at the boy, who shook his head in response. "I sure hope Mya will take it this well." Normally he knew what his daughter's reaction would be: World War III. But now that she had chosen to return with Peter on the island, he wasn't too sure.

"What's the point?" He looked up at the pirate. "We can loose hope over this. Or we can find another way."

The boy's positivity intrigued Hook. "Do you have any ideas on how, boy?"

The pirate wasn't aware of Mya's plan with the Shadow. And Baelfire wasn't convinced he should know. Besides, you could never be sure who was overhearing your conversation in Neverland.

He shook his head. "No." Then added, "not yet." His hand reached down into his trouser pocket, and his fingers encountered the glass material of the bottle that contained part of their salvation. Part of their freedom.
