So, I never thought I would post another chapter on this site - but it turns out I might still find some joy in writing. And I always wanted to finish this.. AND as it seems, I have a very big fan out there who has given me a little push.. So this one is for thibbs65! I hope you guys still enjoy it after all these years :)

Chapter 5 – Daddy's Little Princess

Day 8

I woke up happy today, just had to start with that line! Seriously, I'm actually looking forward to seeing my parents again. I am one of those weird kids, we already know that, right? Haha. Anyway, once again, I had the best night of sleep in Nate's arms. I love the way he holds me close to his chest while we sleep. Sometimes he strokes my arm and I can feel him just watching me while I sleep. The thought of it gives me goose bumps! I really feel like this could be something great, us. I wan't to be realistic and not jump to conclusions, but I really can't help it. I'm falling for him. Hard and fast.

What kind of downs my mood though, is that I can't tell my Mom that I'm so happy. According to Nathan, our parents wouldn't understand it. Especially not his Dad, and I guess I can't argue with that. It is his father after all, and he knows him a hell of a lot better than I do! But I don't think my parents would mind that much. It's only four years, and I'm starting college now so it's not really that much! And besides, I really want this relationship, or whatever the hell it is, to continue after this vacation is over. I want a real relationship with him.

Haley smiled as she closed her diary. Nathan filled her mind again. She loved thinking about him, and she did it practically all the time. Haley felt like she was thirteen again, fuzzing over her first crush. In a way, Nathan was her first 'a lot of things'. He was her first summer fling, and he was the first boy she had ever shared a bed with. He wasn't her first kiss, but he could definitely be her first serious boyfriend! And most of all, Haley felt like he could be her first in the deepest meaning of the word.

The thought of having sex with Nathan had crossed her mind a few times. Mostly when she lied in his arms at night, listening to his heavy breathing while holding her firmly against his chest. It wasn't a thought that disgusted her, but it freaked her out a little. Haley hadn't shown a boy anything since long before she grew real breasts or got other female curves. She was scared that she wouldn't look good enough for him. Haley never felt like she was fat or anything, but she was nervous about showing her body to anyone. But there wasn't a doubt in her mind that he would be her first, even if it was a goodbye gift or something. Haley had great plans for this summer, and almost each and every single one had a piece of Nathan in them now. It was scary how he had become such a huge part of her life in just a few days. A little over a week ago, they didn't even know each other!

The only thing that really kept Haley from opening up completely, was the insecurity she felt. She had so many questions, and she needed answers before she was ready to give her heart away to him. For starters; What were they? Was it just a fling? Was it just for fun? Was it for sex? Or did he actually want a real relationship with her? Did he believe in the two of them, and think they could make it past the remaining five weeks? Haley didn't know, because the only thing he had said when it came to the two of them, was that they needed to keep it a secret. And that wasn't really a good start now was it?

«What is the most beautiful girl in Italy up to?» Haley jumped slightly as she felt two strong arms circle her waist and push her backwards. She smiled as she leaned her body against his muscular chest, feeling his hot breath against her neck as he rested his chin on her shoulder.

«Nothing, just thinking»

«About?» Nathan pushed as Haley turned around in his arms and brought her arms around his neck.

«You» She smiled as she played with the hair at the back of his neck.

«Really? What kind of thoughts?» Nathan whispered huskily as he ran his hands up and down her back.

«You tell me» Haley replied in the same volume as she brought her face closer to his and connected their lips. The kiss started out soft and gentle, but it didn't take long for Nathan to deepen it as he pressed her petite body against his bigger one.

«Dirty thoughts?» He asked against her lips as they slightly parted.

«You bet» Haley smiled as he groaned and brought her lips back on his, kissing her hard and hot. Haley giggled as he started walking them backwards and they ended up falling onto her bed. They shifted a little on the bed, making him lie under her as they continued to make out. Their lips didn't part once.

«God, I want you» Nathan groaned as Haley kissed his neck, sucking a little on it as well as biting him slightly. Haley could feel her body give in to him and one of his hands rested on her behind, squeezing it, while the other one was making it's way up her top. Suddenly, she reminded herself of all the questions she needed answered before she allowed herself to go there, and therefore she slowly pulled away from him.

«As much as I love making out with you, I have some things on my mind» Haley bit her lip nervously while looking at him. His hand was now stroking her back as he urged her to continue with his eyes.

«What?»

«Okay, so you know that I'm a.. a..» Haley trailed of, hoping he would understand with out her actually having to say it out loud.

«A what?» He frowned.

«A virgin» Haley whispered, looking away from his eyes in embarrassment.

«Haley, that doesn't bother me. When you're ready, I am too. I don't want to push you» He assured her while giving her a smile she felt melted her walls.

«I know that! And I trust you, I do. It's just that I sort of promised myself that I would never do anything with anyone that I'm not sure will commit to me. So what I need to know is if we.. If we are.. I mean.. If you.. God, why is this so hard to get out!» Haley sighed deeply.

«If we are a couple?» Nathan asked her as she nodded slowly.

«It's okay if we aren't! I just kind of need to know so I know where I stand, with you and with us and everything!» Haley cleared as she held her breath, hoping he would say that they were, in fact, a couple.

«Well.. I.. I'm not sure.. I mean, I love spending time with you and everything. But we've only done this for three days, Hales. And I'm not really the relationship type..» Nathan trailed of as he saw the clear look of disappointment in her eyes, and he imidiately smacked himself mentaly for turning her down. God, he was so stupid sometimes.

«No, okay. I understand» Haley nodded, avoiding his eyes as she suddenly felt very uncomfortable. She pulled back from his arms and got of the bed, leaving him with confused and worried eyes.

«Haley, I didn't..»

«..No! It's totally fine, Nate. I don't want you to feel obligated to commit to me just because we make out every chance we get and I sleep in your bed every night» Haley cut him of, feeling even more confused than before she asked the question. What was this to him?

«We should probably go. Our parents are waiting, and I need to freshen up a bit first» Haley whispered as she rushed over to the bathroom and went in, locking herself away from him. She hoped he would take the hint and go away so she could avoid speaking to him before they went to the dinner.

«Great job, asshole!» Nathan whispered to himself as he climbed out of her bed and hit himself in the head. He really screwed it up this time, but he didn't really understand what had just happened. He knew he wanted a relationship with Haley, but Taylor's words kept running in his head. 'You're not boyfriend material'... Could he make Haley happy? Or would he just end up hurting her?

«Haley! Taylor! It's so nice to see you again» Lydia James called out for them as she saw the kids walk towards the boat. Haley walked in front with Taylor right behind her. Then came Lucas, before Jake and Rachel who walked together. Nathan came last, not exactly looking excited for what was to come.

«I missed you, Mom!» Haley said as she hugged her mother closely. She could feel Nathan's eyes bore into her back, but she refused to meet them. Haley felt weird about the whole situation. She wanted him so badly, but it just hurt her so much that he didn't feel the same way.

«How are you doing, Honey? Are you having fun?» Lydia asked as she linked arms with her youngest daughter and walked her on board of their yacht.

«I'm having a great time, Mom. Thank you so much for taking me here!» Haley faked her best smile, hoping her mother wouldn't see through it.

«What have you been doing?» Her mother continued.

«Well, the first days I spent on the beach. And one day I went swimming with dolphins. And I also took a walk around in the woods near by. I found the most beautiful spot!» Haley told her as they walked into what she assumed was the living room.

«Alone?» Lydia frowned.

«No, with.. Ehm.. With Nathan» Haley hesitated, but figured it wouldn't hurt to tell the truth.

«Oh, I didn't know you were close?» Lydia asked surprised.

«We're not» Haley pointed out, clearly not convincing her mother. She knew Nathan had heard her because she could still feel him not too far behind her.

«Princess!» Her father called out for her as he came through the door she assumed was to their bedroom.

«Daddy!» Haley smiled as she ran into his arms. Haley had always been a true 'Daddy's little girl'. She loved both her parents very much.

«I missed you, Princess»

«I missed you, too, Daddy!» Haley smiled as he let her go and flicked her nose.

«Welcome on board!» The proud voice of Dan Scott announced as he came into the room together with everyone else. The boat was pretty big and very luxurious, but Haley guessed that was why they called it a yacht.

«We are about to head out to sea, and dinner will be served in about thirty minutes. But first, I would like to propose a toast» Dan said as a waiter handed them all a glass of what Haley assumed was champagne.

«To our Italian summer!» He finished as they all joined in and toasted before drinking it. Haley hesitated for a moment, but her mother winked at her to let her know it was okay. Haley drank it, but quickly found out that it wasn't champagne, it was cider. At least she got cider. She was the kid after all. Great...

«So, Nate, you know what you're gonna do yet?» Her father asked him. They were all sitting around a big table on the deck, eating their dinner. The boat had parked not too far from an island that looked extremely exotic. No other boats or people were in sight, so Haley guessed it was just them.

«Yeah, I got an internship with 'Jones & Parker', and I found an apartment on Manhattan that I already rented. So everything is clear for the fall» Nathan explained as he crushed his lobster. They had, of course, been served sea food.

«'Jones & Parker'? Wow! That's not bad!» Jimmy commented as Nathan smiled slightly.

«Nathan graduated at the top of his class!» Deb pointed out like a true mother, which caused Nathan's cheeks to blush slightly.

«Mom, please..» He trailed of as he tried to cover it up.

«No! I'm really proud of you, Nate!»

«What about you, Jake? What are you up to?» Jimmy continued his round.

«I majored in music, so I got a job at a record label in LA» Jake smiled as Jimmy nodded satisfied.

«And you, Luke?»

«I haven't gotten a job. I'm a freelance writer, I guess. But I'm starting my second novel soon! Just hope the first one does well on the market!» Lucas laughed slightly.

«I'm positive that it will, Honey! It's really good» Karen encouraged him.

«Yeah, I'm really looking forward to reading it» Haley spoke up. She hadn't said much, but she figured it was time to make her presence known.

«You don't have to, Hales» Lucas cleared.

«Are you kidding? Of course I have to! You wrote it, that's reason alone» Haley smiled as they all laughed, except Nathan who just looked at her.

«Yeah, I hate reading, but I think I might actually give it a shot» Taylor cut in.

«Speaking of, what are your plans, Haley?» Dan asked her, smiling in a way Haley didn't really like.

«I'm thinking about NYU» Haley shrugged.

«I though we decided on Standford, Honey?» Jimmy frowned.

«No, you decided on Standford» Haley reminded him.

«But that's a better school» Lydia pointed out.

«I don't really care, Mom. I don't want to move across the country to live on my own. Besides, I've heard the English program is really good at NYU as well» Haley reasoned, not liking the direction this conversation was taking.

«You're majoring in English?» Deb asked surprised.

«Yeah. I want to be a teacher» Haley smiled sweetly as you could hear Dan choke on his drink.

«A teacher?» He asked, a little out of breath. Haley could tell that he didn't see that coming, like he looked down on her choice of profession.

«Dad, stop it» The ice cold, warning voice of course belonged to Nathan. Typical him to defend me when he knows I'm sort of angry with him..

«I just didn't expect such a smart girl as you to become a lousy teacher» Dan laughed, but stopped when he saw the warning look Nathan was giving him.

«I think teaching would suit you well, Hales. You've always been a people person!» Keith cut in, smiling warmly at him. He was certainly nicer than his brother!

«Thank you, Keith» Haley smiled genuinely at him. She really needed that one! That was for sure.

A little while later, they had finished dinner and moved away from the table and onto another deck where they were sitting in a sofa, talking and laughing. The tense atmosphere from the dinner was gone, except from maybe Nathan and Dan who continued to give each other cold glances. Haley couldn't help but feel sorry for Nathan. She knew his childhood hadn't been the easiest one with a father like Dan. Her own father was a million times more loving than Dan could ever be.

«Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom» Haley excused herself as she walked away for a little while. She figured she needed some time for herself. It was getting harder and harder to avoid Nathan's looks. She walked into the nearest bathroom and splashed some water in her face before she fixed her hair and applied some fresh lip gloss.

«This is as good as it gets» She told herself as she walked out and headed back to the rest of the crowd. But suddenly, while she was walking, an arm came out from one of the bed rooms and grabbed her. Haley didn't have time to scream before she was forced into the room. The door closed quickly behind her as she felt a pair of lips crash on her own.

«What are you doing?» Haley was quick to pull away, even though she knew it was Nathan. He had pushed her up against the door and held her face between his hands.

«I'm sorry» Nathan suddenly said as he looked deeply into her confused eyes.

«What for?»

«For earlier. For what I said. I didn't mean it, Hales» Nathan sighed as he let go of her face and stepped away from her.

«Which part?» Haley asked nervously.

«I was just thinking about some things Taylor said to me earlier, about me not being the boyfriend type, and I freaked out. I just.. I don't know how to be a good boyfriend, Hales» He explained as he looked down. Haley felt herself smile a little, but she quickly covered it with a serious look.

«So, what does that mean? That you don't want to be one, or that you want to learn how to be one?»

«Of course I want to be one! I want to be the best one! I just don't want to end up hurting you because I screw it up» Nathan sighed again.

«Well, I don't know how to be a girlfriend either, but I can if you help me» Haley smiled again as she took his hands in hers and held them tight.

«So, we're together?» Nathan asked carefully as he met her eyes.

«I guess we are» Haley bit her lip as he smiled widened.

«Okay. Well, can I kiss my girlfriend then?» Nathan raised his eye brows as Haley pretended to think deeply about it. After a few seconds she nodded and smiled as he bent down and captured her lips in his. Haley moaned as she felt his tongue carefully massage hers, and she could feel herself getting weak in the knees.

«Wow» Nathan whispered as they pulled apart.

«Yeah. Me too» Haley winked as they both laughed and smiled at each other.

«As much as I hate to break up the moment. I think we need to get back before my mother files a missing person's report on me. This was an awfully long bathroom break!» Haley laughed as Nathan nodded.

«One more» He said as she happily let him kiss her one last time. «Alright, you go first and I'll come in two minutes»

«Bye» Haley winked as she stepped out of the room and rushed back to the others.

«Haley! What took you so long? The others have gone swimming, and Karen just went looking for you!» Deb said as Haley shrugged.

«I couldn't find it» She said before running down to where the others were. She already had her bikini on, so she quickly got undressed and sat down so her feet were in the water. Jake, Rachel, Keith, Lucas and her father were already in the water while she could see her mother and Taylor talking somewhere else. Dan was no where in sight...

As Nathan walked out of the bedroom, he couldn't help but smile at what had just happened. Haley was his girlfriend, and he was her boyfriend. This was almost too hard to believe. He felt really happy with himself, he couldn't hide that fact!

«Oh, Nathan! Have you seen Haley?» He stopped as Karen came towards him.

«Ehm, no, I haven't» Nathan lied as she got closer.

«Where did that girl end up! Would you tell her that her parents are looking for her if you see her?» She asked him.

«Of course, Aunt Karen» Nathan smiled as he started walking again.

«Oh, Nate!» Karen called him back as he turned around and face her.

«Yeah?»

«You've got a little, ehm.. Well..» Karen frowned as she pointed to his lip where a shiny substance was showing.

«Oh, thanks» Nathan said as he quickly wiped it of.

«Was that lip gloss?»

«No! Definitely not! It was probably.. ehm.. sauce?» Nathan denied a little too fast. He saw the skeptic look on his aunt's face before it changed as it seemed like she suddenly understood where it came from.

«You and Haley?» Karen asked as he eyes jumped out of her head, the size of golf balls.

«Ehm..» Nathan hesitated as he scratched himself in the head.

«Don't worry, Nate. My lips are sealed» Karen winked as she walked away from him with a surprised, but happy look on her face.

«Yeah, thanks» Nathan mumbled as he sighed loudly and wiped his mouth a second time, making sure no one else would see the evidence of his and Haley's activities earlier.

Dear diary.

Today went great! I had such a great time, and it was so nice seeing Mom and Dad again! Taylor even behaved the whole day, haha. Anyway, I talked to Nathan earlier and after a little, I don't know what it was, we decided that we're together. Like a couple. Like boyfriend and girlfriend. I know, totally cool right? I'm so happy right now, I can't even begin to describe it! I'm so excited, I can't even sleep.

Well, I guess I'll see you in the morning. It's been a long day, and I'm pretty tired.
