35. Red Haired Girl
So he was supposed to find another red-haired girl
l to fall heads over heals with and marry.
Not a problem.
Except it was a problem;
he saw no-one that fit the bill
And for a while he wondered
if this was his way of branching
from the family tree.
Like his brother: the first Slytherin Potter
in history. Or his sister, a cute little Hufflepuff
equally rare. And now he was about to bloom
and enter the larger world
and he was without a companion, without love.
It wasn't until he'd gone to that real world
that he found her: her blazing hair,
her hard smirk,
her sharp tongue
and the way her claws flashed dangerously
when he edged close.
He took all those scratches and more
because one look, and he knew she was the one
just like his namesake had known
about Lily Evans to be Potter.
