36. Only Natural
It was only natural
the pair would fall in love
and be married.
Childish sweethearts
who'd spent their whole lives
at the windowsills
Watching the other from afar
but never too close;
their families were too far apart.
Not so apart,
but far enough it seemed:
They weren't siblings, nor cousins
and so marriage was the only thing
that remained
And it didn't seem wrong to them
at all, to hug and kiss and sit close
because they'd watched each other
from the windowsill too long
And now,
it was the white roses on the altar
they watched grow
into bloom.
