"I heard you're with Temari now," Kurenai smiled.
"What?" Shikamaru said, rather loudly. "Who said that?"
"Everyone saw you together," Kurenai replied, surprised that he was so jumpy about something so trivial.
"We didn't sleep together!" Shikamaru blurted out. "I mean, maybe, okay we did, but I can explain!"
"Uh, I meant that she was your partner for the Chunin Exam project," Kurenai laughed, unable to stifle her continuing giggles.
"Oh," Shikamaru blushed. "Well yeah. That too I guess."
