I don't own Divergent or any of its characters.

I'm so, so, sorry for being so MIA, guys. I literally have no time to do anything but eat, do homework, and sleep (well, I might neglect that one a little bit...) This is a bit of a short chapter, but I'll try to get a new one up here soon. At least there's something! Thanks for staying faithful. I'll try to update ADD sometime soon, too, though I fear it's winding down a bit, no matter how much I love Asaiah and Wyatt.

Love you guys! - nikisamazing

ENJOY!

Tobias picks his crutches up and then pulls AJ from my arms, holding him tightly to his chest. "You okay, bud?" he whispers.

AJ only buries his face in Tobias' shirt. Robyn still has her arms around me, and she rubs my back slightly as Andreas and James haul Marcus up and out of the house.

"It's okay, AJ." Tobias kisses AJ's head and sits, pulling me into his arms, too. "We're here, bud."

It's been an hour, and Tobias is still cradling a sobbing AJ in his arms. AJ pauses for a second and coughs. His sobs slow, and he fists his hands in Tobias' shirt. I lay my head on Tobias' shoulder.

His nose worms its way into my hair, and Tobias breathes deeply. I put an arm around AJ, too, and he huddles closer to both of us.

"Do you guys want anything?" Andreas asks softly.

Tobias shakes his head. "No. No. We - where's Marcus?"

AJ's breaths have evened, and I realize he's asleep.

Andreas replies, "James is dropping him at a bus station."

Tobias nods. "Good." He shifts a little, and I realize AJ and I might be hurting him. I inch off, AJ in my arms, and put him on the bed in Matias' room. When I return, Tobias is stretching and cracking his joints. I sit next to him and take his hand.

"How are you?" I whisper.

"Tired." He rubs his eyes. "Tired of everything."

"Go, take a nap," I encourage.

"Come with me?"

I sigh and lean closer to him yet. "I need some time, baby."

He nods and kisses my temple. I stand and walk off, and he hobbles over to James and Sierra's house.

The next day, only Tobias and I go to the game. The silence that has surrounded us since yesterday still shrouds us, but Tobias holds my hand as I drive, comforting me.

"Tobias…are you okay?" I ask.

"I'm not dead, am I? I'm okay." Tobias sighs. "Sorry."

"It's fine." I squeeze his hand and watch the misty Seattle road. "I love you, Tobias."

"I love you, too." He grips my hand and brings it up to his mouth, placing one long, closed-mouth kiss on it.

"Tobias, I was scared," I whisper, not taking my eyes off the road. "I was really scared."

"I'm so sorry," he replies. "I'm so sorry." His voice cracks a little, and I glance over, but his face is turned away from me.

I lean over and press my lips to his cheek, tasting salt. "It's okay, Tobias."

He sighs and drops his head onto the dashboard, covering it with his muscular arms.

When we get to the stadium, I help Tobias out of the car, and he leans on me while I get his crutches. I situate him in the dugout and kiss him for a second. He barely responds, so I release him. "Tobes…are you okay with me going?"

Tobias grips my hips as I lean over him. "Stay close?"

"Why don't you get your crutches and come out on the field?" I suggest, stroking his head.

"Help me up." He pulls himself up using me, and I allow him to lean on me and grab his crutches. I clip my med supplies to my waist and walk out beside Tobias. He crutches along beside me as I talk with the players, stretching them occasionally.

"Hey, Zeke." I grin at him as he stretches, though he won't be starting today. Mark is.

"Hey, Tris. Four." Zeke grunts as he stretches a little further. I push him at the single point that will make him topple onto his side, laughing lightly. "Wow, thanks, Tris. Good to know that I can trust you to be a good trainer and not injure me."

Four chuckles. "Yeah, Tris."

I grip Tobias' shirt. "Oh, do you want to join him on the ground, mister?"

"No, it's alright," Tobias replies, the corner of his mouth lifting.

I give him a quick kiss there, grinning. Then I offer a hand to Zeke and pull him into a good stretch.

He groans. "This hurts."

"No, it stretches." I pat his back. "See, you're tense there."

"Four, couldn't you have chosen a normal girlfriend?"

"I like this one," Tobias says carefully.

I take his hand and pull him away. "Let's go see Uri."

"Hey, Tris," Uri says, grinning.

"Hey, Uriah," Tobias inserts, a sour look on his face.

"Oh, hey, Four." Uri chews on his lip. "Anyway, Tris, I was thinking - we should hang out when we get back to New York."

"Sounds good. Why not tonight?"

"I'm, um, busy." Uriah looks away. "Sorry. When are you free?"

"Same times as you." I squat down and whisper, "What's going on?"

"I'll text you," he answers as I wrap my arms around him for a hug.

I stand up and kiss Tobias' cheek. "I'm going to use the bathroom. I'll be back in a few minutes, okay?"

"I'll come sit in the dugout," he says.

"Sounds good," I reply, one hand sliding up the front of his shirt and feeling his abs for a second.

"Mhm," he gets out. "You know, if you don't -" he sucks air through his teeth as I move my hand to where his belt buckle would rest, but he's wearing basketball shorts "- God, Tris - stop soon, the world will see my sperm."

I grin and withdraw my hand, letting him sit on the bench. "Need a cold shower yet, bub?"

"Goddamnit," he mutters darkly. "You will be the end of me, Tris Prior."

"Love you." I kiss his head.

"How was the game, Mom?" AJ asks from his seat across the table.

"Good, honey. How was your day at the Science Center?" Robyn took Matias, Alyssa, and AJ to the Seattle Science Center for a free class on gravity for kids.

"Fun." He takes a big bite of salad. "I miss Papa."

"Well, maybe we can go visit him soon." I smile at my boy. "Sound good?"

He nods earnestly. "Can Papa take me to the Mu-se-um of Science and Tech-no-lo-gy again?"

"I can take you to the Museum of Natural History," Tobias says suddenly, looking up at AJ. "I used to go there with Zeke and Uriah when we first joined the Yankees."

AJ grins. "Really?"

"Yes," Tobias promises. "It has a big dinosaur."

AJ nods to himself and takes another bite of salad. He makes a face as he swallows, the same one I see on Tobias' face when he takes a big bite of salad and gets a bitter piece of arugula or something.

I chuckle to myself, and Tobias takes my hand underneath the table.

"You guys done?" Andreas asks Matias and AJ.

"Yeah," Matias says. "Why?"

"Because we're going to watch Epic," Andreas says, clapping his hands together.

"EPIC!" Ben squeals, hopping out of his chair.

Matias and AJ clear their plates and Ben's and follow Andreas and Ben away from the table. Alyssa wriggles down and joins them. Claire huffs and follows, too.

Robyn hugs Tobias and I. "Why don't you two go have a little alone time at Sierra's?" she suggests, a knowing half-smirk on her face.

I help Tobias up. "Thank you, Robyn."

"No problem, hon. He loved it." Robyn waves as I help Tobias to the door.

Tobias has an arm around my waist; this hand sneaks down and cups my butt. I turn my head and raise an eyebrow, not saying anything. "We fly back two days from now," Tobias comments, hand not moving.

I move one hand and cup him through his pants, smirking. "Yeah, we do."

He grunts. "Jesus, Tris. Is that necessary?"

I adjust my hand slightly. "Yes."

"Goddamnit," he mutters. "Fuck, Tris. Please. We're near Sierra's."

I release him, and he adjusts his pants. I laugh lightly and help him up the stairs. Sierra, James, and the kids are out back, and I wave to Sierra as we pass the the glass door. I help Tobias down the stairs and onto the bed. He immediately takes his crutches and shuts the shades and the door, locking it tightly.

On second thought, he opens the door again and puts a note on it. I don't read it, but I assume it says something along the lines of: "Asleep. Go away".

Tobias locks the door once more and rips his basketball shorts off in one fluid movement. He groans and sits on the couch.

I walk over and kiss his head. "Have fun jerking off." I lean over and pluck my book up, curling up on the bed as he groans again in frustration.

After five chapters in my book - supplemented only slightly by me glancing over at my boyfriend - he sighs and walks over to me, nuzzling my neck. He sits beside me, lower half still unclothed.

I set the book down and put a hand on his cheek.

"I love you," he murmurs. Then he pulls the little velvet box out from behind him. "Marry me? Please, please, please marry me."

I kiss his deeply for a moment. "I love you, too, Tobias, but not yet."

He hugs me to him tightly. "One day," he promises, whether to me or him, I don't know, "one day we'll be married and lying together here."

I press myself flush with him and nuzzle my nose into his neck, enjoying the cuddling. "One day," I agree.
