What Could Have Been

CH.19

Previously on What Could Have Been:

I felt the breeze again and the hug, then she was gone. I took a deap breath and tried not to cry and stood up brushed myself off, smiled lovingly at mom's grave and walk towards my home. When I got to the cabin, I walked inside and went to the kitchen, the girl's were busy making plans and discussing the guest list; music, flowers and where to go on our honeymoon. I felt a little out of place but I couldn't have been more excited then I was right now.

"Hey, Jake?' Bella called out, getting up and walking over to him and kissing him soundly on the lips.

"Hey, Back, Bella? whatcha doin?" Jake asked curiously.

"Emily was telling me about what we're wearing for the wedding and how everything is going to go. So we started with the invitations and who we are putting on the guest list, so far everyone can make it and Rabecca and her husband are diffinately going to come, she can't wait to see all of us and she said to tell you that she love's and misses you very much and she can't miss her little brother's wedding!" Bella finally enhaled a lungfull of air after winding herself.

"Cool, I love her and miss her too." Jake said with a warm smile on his face.

"So, you ready for all of this Jake?" Emily asked.

"I think so Emily but I'm still worried I'll be good enough." Jake replied with anxious nerves.

"You are the right choice and always have been, that's why Sam was always watching you before you phased, he was waiting for you to take your place as chief and the rightful alpha male of the pack." Emily said with pride in her voice.

"really?" Jake asked shocked.

"Yes, Jake, all of it is true. Sam knows you will do just fine." Emily said with awe in her voice.

"Thank You Emily, I owe Sam so much for training me. I am proud to call him brother and friend." Jake spoke highly of Sam.

"You're are welcome. Now why don't you get some sleep?" Emily coaxed.

"Yeh, I will. Goodnight Emily, Bella, you know I love you." Jake smiled.

"I love you too Jake." Bella said with love.

We went upstairs and checked on the twins, they were sleeping peacefully. They are getting bigger everyday, I am a father now and I need to make the right choices for my family now. I bent down and kissed both of them goodnight. Bella tucked their blankets around them and kissed them as well. We went into our room and changed for bed and snuggled together, we kissed each other and held each other and fell asleep.

A few days passed and the tribe members were busy setting everything up for the ceremonies. Emily, Rachel, Sue, Leah and Renee were working hard to get it all ready, Bella had Alice come over and help too. Alice was careful not to give herself away in front of Rene. Bella gave Alice the invitations for her family, to come to the ceremony, Alice said they would be honored to attend.

All the set up was done and we needed to get fitted for our wedding attire, Sue and Emily took Bella with them to fit her tribal wedding dress. I wasn't supposed to see her wedding dress. Sam and Paul came to get me for my fitting, Quil and Embry stayed with the kidswhile we were doing this, Rachel also came with me to dad's. I actually had two outfits to wear, the one for the wedding and the one for the chiefsa ceremony.

The wedding outfit was a buckskin fringed shirt with beading on itand I had matching buckskin fringed pants, knee high moccasins in a tan color. I had a bone ckoker around my neck. Rachel brushed and braided parts of my hair and wove feathers into it. When I was done my dad was so shocked because I was the spitting image of Ephraim Black when he was younger, my grandfather.

Rachel told me that I was the most beautiful she ever saw, I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. It was time to change out of that outfit and into the chiefs clothes. It was a beaded and feather fringed soft shirt; a bone breastplate, soft fringed pants, bone choker, a bone tribal bracelet with a russet stained wolf in the center, knee high moccasin boots in white. My long hair was braided towards the front om each side with owl feathers. My dad said I looked really good as a chief.

I smiled and Rachel told me "Damn! Jacob, Bella's a lucky girl" because I looked so good that I could have every girl on the planet chasing me. I blushed and laughed, she hugged me, I was done being fitted now so I changed back into my black t-shirt, blue jeans and boots, then I went home to my kids.

Bella:

Sue and Emily brought out my dress; it waas amazing, it was white doeskin, knee length dress with a v-neck, slit up each side to mid-thigh with blue beading and feathers also fringed down the sides and front in a v-shape. I had knee high white fringed boots as well. Emily brushed and braided my long wavy hair on the sides of my head and then she pulled these braids behind my head and tied them with white leather cord. She wove feather's into my hair, the rest of my hair was left to flow in soft waves down the middle of my back.

"Oh! Bella, you look beautiful, Jake won't be able to take his eyes off you." Emily said happily.

"I can't believe it! I look amazing. Thank you all, I love my dress and my hair, you guys did a great job!" Bella said stunned.

"You clean up real well Swan." Leah said with a smile.

"Thank You Leah, this means a lot to me." Bella smiled at Leah.

"My gosh! baby you look so beautiful, just like Grandma Swan did at her wedding. You've truly grown into a beautiful woman Bella, Jacob is a very lucky man to have you." Rene said while hugging bella with tears in her eyes.

"Bella, you are truly magnificent, The Great Spirit has chosen wisely for the mate of The Chief. May he smile on you and your family always." Sue said as she hugged and kissed Bella on the cheek.

"You know Bella? I have always liked you and you are the other half of my brother's soul. You both have come a long way to get to this point and I prey that all your days are as special as this one and that your family be blessed with strong sons and daughters to grace our tribe. I am proud and honored to call you sister." Rachel said while hugging and kissing bella on her cheek.

"Oh! Rachel! you all mean the world to me and Jacob, we love all of you dearly and we couldn't imagine our live's without you in them. Thank you Rachel, I am proud to be accepted as your sister and the honor is all mine. My Jacob couldn't have a better sister, I want to thank you also for loving him and looking out for him." Bella spoke choked up with emotion.

I can't wait to marry Jake, I bet he's gonna look georgious in his clothes, he truly takes my breath away everytime I see him, it's like I'm looking at him for the first time. Alicecalled me to tell me that her whole family will be coming and that she and the rest of our families are taking each one of us out for a bachelor and bachelorette party.

I was worried about what Emmett would want to do for Jake? I hope there won't be strippers! and shit! what was Alice planning for me? I suddenly found myself very nervous. I said bye to Sue and Emily and headed back to the cabin. When I got there and walked into the house, Quil and Embry were playing with the babies, I walked into the kitchen where I found Jake making ice tea. I loved ice tea, especially the way jake make's it, he puts peppermint in it.

I sauntered over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. Jake turned around and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him. He bent his head down and kissed me, I pulled on his hair pulling him closer to me to deepin the kiss. We got lost in the moment for awhile, Jake rested his hands on my hips pulling me tighter to him.

I couldn't break the kiss because I want Jake to never stop kissing me like this, I love him so much and I can't bring myself to let him go. fighting for air we weren't getting, Jake was the one who broke the kiss first, resting his forehead against mine, panting for air. we could hear whistles coming from the livingroom.

"We can't do this right now Bella." Jake said regretfully.

"Why not Jake?" Bella asked still out of breath.

"Because from now until the wedding, we can't have sex, it's the rules." Jake sighed sadly.

"So, no sex until we're married right?" Bella asked dissappointed.

"Yes." Jake confirmed.

"That's going to be a hard thing to stop from happenening." Bella grinned.

"I know it will be but on our wedding night we can do whatever we want, for however long we want to. You understand honey?" Jake smiled suggestively.

"Okay Jake but can I still; kiss, hug, and hold you?" Bella asked.

"Yes, until the night before the wedding, which will be in a few days and then you and I can make love even under the stars if you like." Jake quirked his eyebrow up wiggling suggestively.

"I like that idea, okay, I will try to behave, Jake, I love you." Bella smirked.

"I love you too honey." Jake leant down to place a soft kiss to her lips.

Jacob:

Bella and I talked together and laughed about what we wanted to do after the wedding. The girl was mischievious and boy am I gonna get it later. We ate dinner and got the babies ready for bed. Emily and Rachel came back to the cabin and told us that the night before the wedding is the parties and also my 18th birthday. this is going to be interesting, so they decided to move up the birthday party so Bella could spend it with me. We decided to celebrate my birthday first, then the next night were the bachelor/ette parties and then the wedding.

Bella and I said goodnight to Emily and Rachel. We walked upstairs and into the bedroom to get undressed for bed. I took my boots off settin gthem by the chair then I pulled my shirt over my head laying on the back of the chair. I unzipped my pants and slipped them off as well, They were added to the pile I had on the chair.

I felt eyes on my back, I turned around and Bella was in a tiny purple nightie watching me. I was amazed at how beautiful she is and I wanted her but I couldn't do what I was thinking. I pulled on sweats and got into bed and pulled the covers up over me. Bella walked over to the bed looking very sexy, she pulled the coverson her side back and crawled into bed pulling the covers off of me.

She said she was cold, so I coverewd her up, then she curled up next to me. It was very hard to sleep next to her when she looked like that. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep until I felt a pair of hands making their way up my thighs to rest at my hips. That woke me up and I lifted the covers and there was Bella smiling at me evily.

She pushed her body up to lay on top of me. I tried to stop her until she started kissing my neck. I told her we can't do this, we had to wait until we were married but she kept hitting every damn spot that turned me on. Then the tickling started and the laughing; more kisses and caresses followed, until I couldn't stand it anymore. I tried to get away from her and ended up hitting the floor and of course everyone in the house was up now.

"Jake!" Emily and Rachel called out simoltaniously startled running down the hall to our room.

Bella tackled me to the floor, grabbing my hips and trying to pull my pants off. where was this crazy urge coming from? it's like she's in heat. I held onto my pants but she almost had them off of me when the door flew open and there stood Emily and Rachel, my sister laughing with their mouths hitting the floor at my lack of clothing while Bella tickled the shit out of me.

"Are you having trouble controlling your fiance?" Rachel giggle while covering her eyes, while Emily did the same blushing.

She hasn't seen me naked since I was a baby and I'd like to keep it that way.

"Shut up butt head!" I said frustrated wih the situation.

"I think we are going to have to seperate you two until the wedding." The girl's giggled.

" I promise I will behave." Bella said with a smirk.

"Oh! hell no! I'm going to sleep on the couch!" I said feeling like her prey.

I got up out from under Bella and walked out of the bedroom and downstairs to the livingroom. I opened the wooden chest in front of the couch and pulled out a blanket and pillow. I laid down on the couch. I actually had to sleep with one eye open. This sucked, Bella was trying to be coy and behave but I knew the minute Emily and Rachel were asleep, she would be down here attacking me again.

So I put the pillow under the blanket and snuck out the back door and went over to my dad's house and crawled through my old bedroom window. My bed was still made so I shut and locked the window, then crashed on the bed for the night. I was finally able to sleep.

Bella:

I woke up the next morning and got dressed. I went downstairs to apologize to Jacob for las night. I walked into the livingroom and Emily was putting the pillow and blanket back into the chest, I look around but no Jake. "Where's Jake?" I asked. Emily and Rachel shrugged their shoulders in response.

I told both of them that I was sorry for last night and I want to tell Jake sorry too. Emily said when she got up this morning to change the twins he wasn't there and she didn't knowwhere he went. Rachel was holding two very upset babies in her arms until Emily walked over to take Joseph from Rachel, they were trying to calm our babies, they both knew daddy wasn't here and they were quite pissed off.

I went up to my room and started to cry. I can't believe how encredibly stupid I was for behaving like that and about the whole situation. Jake was abiding by the rules, why couldn't I. I should've waited like Jake said to until the wedding, stupid hormones, and now he's gone. I cried and cried and cried until I had thought I ran out of tears, I lost my Jacob because I couldn't wait to love him. 'I am sorry Jake!'

Emily:

I tried to sooth booth babies, Rachel did too. They just weren't having it. The twins seem to feel what Jake feels to a degree that we alone can't quite handle. I looked over to Rachel and said "We need to find Jacob now!"

"I'll call Paul." Rachel said walking quickly to the phone.

"I'll call Sam as well." Emily said pulling out her phone while holing Joseph in the other arm. It rang once and Sam picked up.

"Hey, Emily. What's up?" Sam asked surprised.

"I need you help!" Emily sighed.

"With what babe? why is Joseph and Christi crying like that?" Sam asked feeling anxious.

"With Bella." Emily exclaimed.

"Bella? why? what's going on?" Sam said bring his alpha to the front fearing they were in danger.

"There was a misunderstanding last night and Jake got upset with Bella and he slept down on the couch but this morning he was gone and now Bella and the babies are crying and she thinks she's lost Jacob. We have to find him for her before there's no wedding! and we can't get the little one's to stop either." Emily said in a shaky voice on the verge of tears herself.

"Damn it Jake! shit! okay babe listen to me alright? I'll have the pack look for him and see if we can find him okay? I will send Leah and Sue over to you girl's to help calm the babies while you and Rachel try to get Bella under control. Babies feel their parent's emotions strongly, more so due to their connection to Jacob." Sam said with slight authority in his voice.

"Okay, please hurry?, I'll try to calm her down and Rachel has both of the babies now. Thank you Sam, I love you." Emily said in a shaky voice.

"I love you too, Emily, we will find him okay? just relax, he couldn't have gone to far babe. talk to you soon, bye babe." Sam said reassuring the girls he would bring Jacob back home.

A/N: I know! you all hate me again for this cliffy but it had to stop there, up next in chapter 20 will be Sam's point of view and the search for Jacob begins. I know there was a few pov shifts but it had to be done. so what do you think about the twins freak out? please read and review, this story is almost complete, maybe a couple more chappy's to go and then Fin? we'll see... (Grins and hides behind the couch)
