Teru waited silently for Sumino up on the roof. He decided that this would be a nice place to talk, somewhere nice and quiet where his troublesome fangirls couldn't bother them.
Not much longer after he had gotten there, Sumino opened the door. She shyly glanced down at her shoes and shuffled over to where Teru was waiting. She slid down the wall next to him and stared at her worn out shoes waiting for him to say something.
"You should stay with Hinata." Teru simply stated, yet there was something underneath his tone that hinted that he didn't believe what he just said.
Sumino stared blankly at him. For some reason she expected him to say that she should leave Hinata. Maybe that's because she secretly wanted him to.
"Okay, but how do I do that? I want to stay with him, but I'm not so sure he wants to stay with me." Her soft voice had a twinge of sadness in her tone as she looked back to her shoes.
"I don't know… Let me think about it. Post something on your blog and I'll comment on it later." he eventually responded to her question as he got to his feet to leave.
"Okay," she whispered sadly as Teru got up. Sumino found herself wishing that he wouldn't leave.
Sumino wasn't quite sure what to post on her blog. In the end, she simply posted "I need help."
She waited for hours at her laptop yet there was no response from Teru. She pulled her knees up to her chest and she could feel tears beginning to burn in the corners of her eyes. She was about to slam the laptop shut when she suddenly saw his response pop up.
"What do you need help with?"
That simple response made Sumino beam at the bright screen. She typed back her response, "It's boyfriend troubles, I feel like we're drifting apart and I don't know what to do..."
He responded quickly this time. It read, "Ask him to go on a date with you. Then you should have his undivided attention, and maybe then you can talk about your relationship."
Sumino was overjoyed; it seemed like a good enough plan. She turned off her laptop and planned to ask Hinata tomorrow.
The first thing she did the next day was find Hinata. Once again, he was in the student council room working.
Running up to his desk, she bounced on the balls of her feel excitedly.
"Hinata guess what," She beamed, without waiting for a response she continued, "BlackRabbit thinks that we should go on a date sometime."
As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Hinata jumped up and grabbed her by the shoulders roughly.
"You shouldn't let the blog run our relationship! In fact I don't want you to go on there anymore it's not good for you." He barked in her face.
Sumino didn't know why he was so mad about it. All she did was ask for some advice from her friend. Not that he could tell her what to do anyways. She would have told him so, but she feared what he would do if she did.
Hinata took a deep breath and let go of her shoulders. It seemed as if his sudden anger had passed. Sighing he added, "Sumino if you want to go on a date that's fine, but you have to plan it. I simply don't have time to worry about silly things like that at the moment."
Sumino wasn't sure how to respond. She had never been on an actual date before and now Hinata expected her to plan one out. And why was a date with his girlfriend so silly to him? Shouldn't it be important to him?
She watched as Hinata walked back to his desk and continued working on his paperwork. Without looking up he stated simply, "If you come up with any ideas then let me know and maybe we can work something out."
Sumino whispered a quiet, "Okay," before leaving the room.
She didn't know whether she should be happy because they're finally going on a date, worried because she has to plan it out when she has no experience in the subject, or upset because Hinata indirectly called their relationship silly and unimportant.
Sumino decided to ask Teru for advice again later during lunch, but immediately felt guilty for bothering him so much recently. Then again, he did agree to help her, so she shouldn't feel guilty.
Teru, as always, was on the roof of the school. It made Sumino begin to wonder why he never ate lunch with his friends anymore. She wasn't going to bother him about it though since she looked forward to their time together every day.
Slowly she walked towards Teru. She noticed how the sun glinted off his beautiful, golden hair and couldn't help but smile at the serene scene. She then blushed and shook her head, mentally scolding herself for having such thoughts about her friend when she was already in a relationship with Hinata.
Sumino plopped down next to Teru and buried her face in her hands. It was then that Teru turned and saw her hiding her face in her hands.
"Sumino," he asked calmly, smiling "How did things go with Hinata? Did you plan out a date?"
Although he was smiling on the outside, he was slowly dying on the inside. He was, after all, helping the very girl he was in love with get the man of her dreams.
Sumino sighed before glancing up at Teru. "He said he's too busy to plan it," taking a slight pause, Sumino looked down before continuing, "He wants me to plan it," the teen looked over at Teru before once again continuing, "but I've never been on a date before and I don't exactly know how to plan it."
The young girl dropped her head back into her hands, her eyes beginning to water with dissatisfaction at her own inexperience with the subject.
Teru gently rubbed her back trying to make her feel better. It was then, that an idea popped into the blonde's head.
"Sumino," he started causing the teary eyed girl to look up at him, "What if I took you on a practice date this weekend? That way you can get some ideas for things to do on your date with Hinata."
The dark haired girl's tears soon became tears of joy. "You would do that for me?" she asked shyly.
When the boy nodded in response, she threw her arms around his neck in a tight hug exclaiming "Thank you so much Teru! You're the best friend ever!"
It was then that the bell rang signaling the end of the lunch period. Sumino jumped up and left immediately, leaving Teru behind.
He looked up saddened by her earlier remark. "Right... friend... because that's all we'll ever be," he whispered to himself before heaving himself up to follow her to class.
