Teru knew it was wrong to leave Sumino alone on the roof. He knew she was probably freaking out, but he honestly didn't know what to say to her.
He sighed to himself; he knew he shouldn't have kissed her. She had just broken up with Hinata after all. Teru was angry with himself for taking advantage of her feelings. He knew he would have to face her about it at some point, or maybe he could just play it off like he always did. No, that wouldn't be right, he argued with himself.
Teru's thoughts were abruptly stopped when he heard a sing song like voice shout, "Teruuuuuuuuuu."
Teru continued walking, he knew exactly who it was and he didn't have the patience to talk to her right then.
The young brunette quickly ran in front of Teru, forcing him to stop. She grabbed his hand in what she thought was a flirtatious way, forcing him to look at her.
"So I was thinking," she paused briefly while swinging their hands in an attempted cutesy manner, "we should hang out again sometime. Last time was sooo much fun."
Teru sighed, annoyed with the persistent brunette, "Listen, I really don't want to hang out with you anymore. Honestly, I don't even want to be friends."
She dropped his hand and took a step back appalled by his comment.
The brunette looked down at the ground to avoid eye contact with Teru.
"Teru, how can you say that after you kissed me? I know you felt something when you kissed me don't try to deny it," she looked back up at him before finishing, "Is it because of that pitiful girl you always hang around."
Teru looked away and didn't answer her.
"It is isn't it," she sneered angrily, "Honestly I don't know what you see in her. She's so hopeless and she doesn't have any friends, you don't need to baby her."
"Don't ever talk about Sumino like that again," Teru irritably responded.
He gently shoved her out of his way in attempted to leave but she grabbed his wrist and pulled him back.
"Don't tell me what to do," she barely whispered while moving her face closer to his.
Sumino knew that she had to be in class, but she couldn't find a way to convince her limbs to move. The young girl was still in complete shock that Teru had kissed her, even if it was brief.
If he had kissed her, it meant that he liked her, right? Sumino was so confused about it all. The young girl also found herself annoyed that he had the nerve to kiss her and leave like nothing happened.
Maybe he's just embarrassed, She tried to reason with herself but quickly dismissed the thought. Teru never got embarrassed.
Sumino pondered with her thoughts a little longer before she came to the conclusion that now would be the perfect time to confess to Teru.
Excited, she jumped up and ran down the stairs in search of him.
Sumino rounded the corner and saw him talking to the girl that he had gone out with a few weeks prior. Confused, she stopped to observe them.
The annoyed brunette saw Sumino watching them out of the corner of her eye and decided to take advantage of the situation. She grabbed Teru's collar and pulled him into a kiss.
Sumino felt her heart burn red-hot as tears welled up in her eyes. She quickly ran past them trying her best not to be seen.
Once the brunette saw that Sumino was gone, she backed away from Teru with a devious smirk.
Teru just barely saw Sumino running away; it was then that he realized what had just happened. He wanted so badly to yell at the girl before him, but he instead decided to chase after Sumino.
The young boy tried calling her name but all his attempts where in vain.
Sumino ran the entire way home, knowing full well she would be punished for this later, but she just didn't care anymore.
Once she was inside, she stopped to catch her breath. Sumino walked up to her room and quietly closed the door behind her. After she was sure it was closed, she fell to her knees on the floor and began to sob.
Just when she had thought that things were finally going right, it turned out he was dating someone else. Sumino was so hurt that he would kiss her with intentions of mocking how pathetic she was.
Not knowing what else to do, she pulled out her phone and went on her blog. She at least hoped that Megapig would know what to do about this situation.
She sent him a private message explaining everything that had happened, all the way from Hinata breaking up with her to Teru kissing that girl.
Sumino finished typing and anxiously awaited his response. Minutes began to feel like hours and the young girl began to wonder if he would respond. Just as she was thinking that no one cared about her anymore, she noticed a message from him pop up.
Megapig had had thought that the whole situation was a misunderstanding and that she should just talk to Teru.
Annoyed with the exact response she didn't want to hear, she closed her phone and softly threw it on the ground away from her.
Sumino curled up in a ball on her bed and felt the first of the tears begin to fall. She cried herself to sleep, knowing full well that she would not be attending school that next day.
Sumino's dreams had been haunted with images of Teru and his beautiful girlfriend kissing, mocking her. They became so bad that she awoke with a cry, covered in sweat.
She looked over at her clock and noticed that it was just around the time that school would be ending. Sumino had never slept for so long at one time before, and she pondered how she managed to do so with all the awful nightmares she had experienced.
Sumino knew deep in her heart that she should be happy for Teru and supporting of their relationship.
She found her phone still lying on the floor, and opened it to send a message to Blackrabbit. The message read, "Dear Blackrabbit, I am so happy that you have finally found love. I apologize for my improper reaction the other day, I will always support you. Thanks for your understanding."
Sumino knew the message was way too formal to be taken seriously, but she was too depressed to joke around with him.
Not long after the message was sent, she heard a knocking at her door. She looked in the mirror briefly to make sure she was somewhat presentable before going downstairs.
The young girl opened the door only to see Teru standing there. She guessed, based on his heavy breathing, that he had run to her house to see her.
"Sumino," he breathed while stopping to catch his breath, "We need to talk."
Sumino, to in shock to respond, slammed the door in his face.
"Teru, I really don't wish to talk, but I'm happy you found someone you love," Sumino spoke through the door with sadness in her voice.
"That's what I came here to talk about, I saw the message you left me… Sumino you have everything all wrong."
Annoyed that she didn't respond to him, he demanded that she opened the door. Sumino, as expected, refused to do so.
Giving up, he slid down the door and tried to speak to her once again.
"I realize that kissing you and leaving was wrong but I just couldn't face you. Everything that happened in the hall was a misunderstanding. I was trying to explain to her that I didn't want to hang out anymore and she kissed me. That's all that happened." Teru explained quietly, but just loud enough that she could hear him through the door.
When he didn't get a response, he finished by saying, "Well then I'll be leaving now."
Teru stood up to leave, but stopped when he heard the door open. He turned around only to face Sumino who was crying.
"Sumino, I'm so sorry," he whispered while pulling her into a gently hug.
He gave her a light kiss, only to be pushed away.
"I knew it," she angrily cried, "I'm just some other girl to you... you can't just go around and kiss girls like it's some kind of game."
Sumino looked at the floor and whispered, "I think you should leave now Teru."
Teru not knowing what to say stepped out of the door frame just enough for her to close it. He knew he had made a big mistake.
The young boy began to walk away but stopped when the words he was looking for finally came to him.
"Sumino, I hope you know that you're way more than just some other girl to me. I wish you would understand that I've never felt this strongly about anyone but you before."
With those words said, he left.
Sumino felt herself slide down the door until she was sitting on the floor up against it. She didn't know if it was right to send him away, but Sumino knew that she couldn't accept his apology.
Once again, she messaged Megapig and explained what had just happened, and yet again he told her she was being stupid. He tried to convince her that Blackrabbit wasn't the kind of person she thought he was, and if she didn't believe him, then she should follow Blackrabbit around for a day to discover his true nature.
Sumino like the idea of trying to know Teru better, and decided that she would follow Megapig's advice the next day, but for now she just needed more sleep to let everything that happened today sink in.
Thanks everybody for reading this. The last chapter got too fluffy so I had to make it sad again, just kidding the whole story is already planned out. There are only two chapters left after this and not making promises but possibly a bonus chapter 11/ sequel if you wish to call it that.
