55. A World Ruled by Destiny but Filled by Luck

It was a world ruled by destiny
and not by luck

But he could still count his blessings
in the sun: the warmth
that clung to him tight,
the angels that sat still
on earth
and the radiant smiles that lit
the whole world up…

Yes, it might have been destiny
that had defined the road he took:
the victory he'd gained
but it was luck –
that thing that made the world go round
undefined –

That gave him all else.
