Selene POV- Canaan was nothing more than a ghost town complete with one ghost and one living inhabitant, a banshee. The banshee watched the Ghost Riders come to Canaan and take everyone except her. To compensate for the loss of her friends and neighbors the Ghost Riders gave her back her dead son so she wouldn't miss everyone else.
The more Selene thought about it on the drive home the more she started to realize. She realized Claudia was a ghost brought back so Stilinski wouldn't miss his son and try to find him. However that took a backseat once they got home.
When they walked inside the first person they saw in Scott's kitchen was Theo. Malia immediately attacked him and started to pound on his face.
"It's okay you don't have to stop" Theo told Malia as she beat on him his face covered in blood.
"Trust me I won't" Malia said unleashing her claws. Just before she could claw Theo to ribbons Scott stopped her.
"Malia enough" Scott said as he and Liam pulled Malia off Theo.
"Slow down okay? He's going back in the ground" Scott told her when she growled at him.
"You can't. He remembers Stiles" Liam said.
From where she was leaning uninterested against the wall Selene slowly walked over Theo.
"Selene remembers Stiles. Scott, Lydia and I remember Stiles" Malia said.
"The Dread Doctors knew all about the Wild Hunt. He can help us" Liam said.
"Or he can kill us" Scott replied. "He's my responsibility. Noshiko gave me the sword" Liam said.
"It's so awkward when mom and dad fight" Theo said sitting up.
"Shut up!" Scott and Liam said. Selene planted her foot on Theo's chest and shoved him back onto the ground.
"Unless you have something useful to say I'd suggest you keep your mouth shut" she told him.
"You both are right. If Theo tries anything we'll send him back to the skinwalkers. But for right now…" Hayden said.
"He goes back now" Scott said.
"No. He doesn't" Selene said looking down at Theo.
"Liam's the one with the sword" Theo said.
"Shut up" everyone told him.
Selene pressed down on his chest with her foot making him wince in pain. Scott and Liam went off upstairs to argue and Hayden stepped in front of Malia.
"Can you give me a second alone with Theo?" Malia asked.
"Why?" Hayden asked.
"So I can kill him."
"No way" Selene replied casually.
Malia growled at her.
Selene let her eyes go Alpha red as she slowly looked up at Malia.
"Try it" Selene said her voice darker.
Both Malia and Hayden dipped their heads in fear. Even Theo flinched under her foot.
"I'm with Liam on this matter. As long as he knows stuff we don't he stays alive under my… protection" Selene gritted out through clenched teeth. Scott and Liam came back downstairs and they all gathered in the kitchen.
"I can put you back in the ground anytime" Liam told Theo.
"You also need a transformer that can handle five billion joules of electricity. I know where to find one and I can show you how it works. I'll tell you if Malia promises not to kill me" Theo said looking over at Malia.
"She promises" Selene said.
"No I don't" Malia replied.
"Yes. You do."
"We're really gonna do this? Trust him?" Malia asked Scott.
"You got a better idea?" Hayden asked.
"I've got an idea. It may not be better but at least it's not him."
"I'll catch up with you" Selene said feeling all the sudden like she got the wind knocked out of her.
She found herself walking down the road and when she stopped she was in front of Stilinski's house. Without even knocking she walked inside and up the stairs she saw the wall where Stiles' room used to be torn apart and the door to the room open. Inside was Noah Stilinski.
"This was his room" Selene said softly.
Slowly she stepped into the room.
"This…"
"Noah come out of there. How did you get in?" Claudia said behind her.
"I'm supposed to be here" Selene answered her.
"Did you know about this room? Why was it sealed off?" Noah asked.
"The previous owners probably did it. People do crazy things?" Claudia said standing just outside the room.
"What if this was his room? What if this means we had a son?"
"Noah…"
"You do have a son" Selene said cutting Claudia off.
"Claudia this could be the proof we're looking for."
"There are so many simple explanations for why this is here. But we had a son we've forgotten is not one of them."
"Aren't you curious?"
"No. I'm not. You're making yourself crazy I think we should just leave it alone."
"I can't."
Selene smiled at Claudia when Stilinski gave her his answer. Claudia turned and walked away.
"Selene it's late you… you really should be home" Noah said.
"Okay but when you're ready to talk you know where to find me" Selene said.
She looked around the room slowly and smiled before she left. The next morning out in the woods in a shack Selene helped Scott, Mason and Corey build a trap so they could catch a Ghost Rider.
"Where'd you run off to last night?" Scott asked her.
"Don't worry about it everything's good" Selene replied.
"You did it" Hayden said walking in with Liam behind her.
"Of course we did it" Mason said.
Liam uncuffed Theo who went over to a machine mounted to the wall.
"This thing can transmute the energy from a lightning bolt. Even successive strikes" Theo explained.
"Mason are you sure this is gonna work?" Scott asked.
"Well whatever's inside this cage is shielded from any outside electrical current. So the Ghost Rider won't be able to use the lightning to escape" Mason explained.
"We put a lightning rod on the roof and connected it to that conduit cable. Drawing the Ghost Rider to that spot" Corey said pointing at the cable.
"We can't send him directly in because the cage neutralizes electromagnetism. Lightning will just bounce off it which is the same reason it'll hold him in" Mason said.
"If the Ghost Rider lands here how do we get him in the cage?" Scott asked.
"We have to lure him in" Corey responded.
"Bait?" Scott asked.
"I'll do it. It'll be okay I'm faster than you" Hayden said.
"As soon as Hayden's out Scott and Liam you guys close the gates and then I'll put down a barrier of Mountain Ash" Mason said.
"I'll be on the roof to take down the rod" Corey added.
"We'll be on the lookout for any other Ghost Riders" Mason said.
"What do you think?" Liam asked Scott.
"I think it's the best idea that we have right now" Scott said.
"As long as everything goes perfectly and he doesn't escape and kill us all" Theo said.
"And your transformer works and the whole place doesn't catch on fire" Hayden said.
"And there isn't a catastrophic solar flare" Mason added.
"Let's do it" Scott said.
"Don't count on me. I may not be here" Selene spoke up from the corner.
"How come?" Scott asked.
"Because last night Stilinski found Stiles' room. I may have to help him remember it" Selene explained.
"Okay" Scott said nodding.
They turned on the machine and waited for night fall. Sure enough when the sun was gone a storm started up. They all hid leaving Hayden out in the open. When the Ghost Rider appeared she ran into the cage and just liked they planned the Ghost Rider followed.
Once Hayden ran out Liam closed one gate but when Scott tried to close the other it stuck. Theo ran over and they both tried to close it but the Ghost Rider was trying to open it and he was stronger than them.
Stepping up to the cage Selene let her eyes glow and she roared at the Ghost Rider. It was stunned just long enough that Scott was able to close the gate and Mason made the Mountain Ash barrier. Mason ran outside to Corey to look out for other Ghost Riders.
When the Ghost Rider tried to reach for his gun it wasn't there Scott held it up for him to see. When the Rider tried to call the lightning to escape it just went over the cage bouncing off just like they planned.
"It worked we did it" Scott said.
"It's time for me to go" Selene said smiling softly.
She went all the way back to Stilinski's house and back up to the room.
"You knew about it…" Noah asked coming up behind her.
Selene nodded.
"God it was on the blueprints it was here when we moved in. That was 18 years ago."
Selene looked around the room and she saw Stiles' bed his suspect board she saw everything.
"Selene what is it?"
"Everything" she responded softly.
"I don't quite understand how you knew this was here but it you want to discuss the possibility that I had a son. I'm listening."
Selene nodded and then told him everything about what she had learned in Canaan.
"So wait a sec. So this woman Lenore she conjured up her dead son?"
"She was the only one left she had to fill a void. So she filled it with son."
"And you saw this kid?" "We all did. He was real he was there but…"
"But what?"
"She was there when everybody was taken. She saw it happen. But she didn't wanna believe it. She wanted to believe in her son."
"What are you trying to say? You think Claudia is not real? You think I made up a phantom wife?"
"Yeah and I think you're too afraid to remember him."
"She's a flesh and blood woman she's real. Everything else here is just… is just speculation conjecture. It's just it's a theory based on a… on a ghost town."
Shaking her head Selene waked over to where Stiles' lacrosse jersey was laying on a chair. She picked it up and buried her face in it taking in the scent of Stiles. A tear ran down her cheek.
"Why do you care so much if I remember him?"
"Because you loved him" Selene said softly.
She turned and tossed the jersey at Noah.
"Remember him" Selene said her eyes Alpha red.
Noah caught the jersey and Selene knew he could see it.
"This is where his crime board was. Here is where he slept. Where we… where he…" Selene pointed out objects in the room then she reached up and touched the mark on her neck.
"Remember him" Selene said.
Then she was overcome with pure terror but she knew I wasn't Stiles'. So she left Noah to his memories and raced back to the shack in the woods. She walked into chaos.
The Ghost Rider was dead and Hayden was pinning Theo to the wall blaming him. To Selene's shock she realized it was Theo's terror she was feeling.
"Mr. Douglas ate his brain" Theo said fearfully.
"Scott was right I was wrong. I'm sending you back" Liam said.
"It wasn't his brain. Mr. Douglas ate his pineal gland" Scott said.
"It couldn't have been Theo these murders have been going on for weeks" Mason said.
"Guys… his whips gone" Liam said.
When Hayden let Theo go his legs gave out and he fell to the ground clearly wounded but he still crawled into the corner and coward. Selene slowly walked over to Theo.
"You know I'm probably going to regret this but…"
She held out her hand to Theo her eyes glowing.
"You may be Chimera but you're also part werewolf and werewolves are mine."
When Theo reached up with a shaking hand and took her hand moonlight flooded the room. Selene not only healed his injury but she soothed his terror as well. She stumbled only slightly when Theo pulled himself up. He smiled at her as he helped her keep her balance.
"We need to find Douglas. Get his scent, it's dark, tainted. Now find him" Selene ordered the others as they took a deep breath.
They raced out into the night hunting. She waited with Theo who refused to leave her until she got her strength back. After a few minutes she nodded at him and they both ran out into the woods to hunt.
They followed the trail all over the woods but Douglas was gone. Sadly Mason found something, a relic that showed the Ghost Riders took another one. He found Corey's phone… Corey was taken.
