So...it's been forever...but I hope you guys like this little set up, next chapter will hopefully not take as long, and be longer and give you a bit more of back story about what's been happening on both sides these last six years, but don't get your hopes up too high! Also there may be a bit of Tsuna/Kyoko bashing to come but not too much or in this chapter. Remember I am all for the comments, even the negative ones! I am sorry again for the wait and any spelling mistakes, as I am my own beta, it gets hard to catch myself. Anyways I hope you enjoy it ^-^
"It's just not fair!" K.T wined as she tilted her head a little, avoiding the arrow that was aimed at her face "How are they just going to just leave us here! I mean I know it's supposed to be a covert operation and stealth is all important, but we're a small group! How are two more people going to make that much of a difference?" she asked with a pout as she spun to avoid another arrow that came flying at her, finishing the spin with two jabs of the sword in her left hand successfully blocking the third and fourth arrow sent her way. "I mean come on, what is so dangerous about what they're going to do? What's the big deal!? And why won't they tell us what the mission is!?" Exasperated, K.T. jumped to her left, reaching into her boot and extracting a dagger to send flying towards P.V. as she landed and slid back to avoid the hail of arrows raining down on her.
P.V. for his part just rolled his eyes as he spun into the knife heading in his direction, smoothly guiding it with his momentum back around towards his distracted sparing partner as he notched two arrows to send flying after the redirected knife shaking his head. "T, you know full well that our places where taken by Doc. and the General, plus L.A and Jr. are still on the island too so stop whining, I am trying to train and your constant nagging and rhetorical question are rather distracting, if your going to be this distracted, I'll just practice with a dummy, it would put up more of a challenge than you are right now." He said turning to leave, knowing that this would have the desired effect on his partner.
"I will make you eat those worlds along with that stupid bow you jerk!" K.T. said as she launched herself into the air, spinning to gain speed heading straight for P.V. as he smiled and side stepped to avoid her, raising his bow to block the blow he knew was coming.
"Oh will you now, I would love to see that "Princess" that is if you can keep up." He said with a mischievous glint in his eye as he jumped back and then into a tree, laughing as he heard K.T. behind him.
"Coward! Get back here!" was all M.V. Jr heard as she walked into the clearing her two youngest charges were supposed to be training in, but judging from what she heard and the retreating back of K.T., P.V. had successfully taken her mind off of the fact that she was not allowed to partake in the mission they had left on this morning. Sometimes that boy is too obvious, not that it matters, that girl is too dense to see it coming anyway. She thought with a small chuckle as she leaned agents a tree to wait for them to cycle back around. She knew their pattern well, it was always the same. P.V. would say something to work K.T. up and get her mind off of whatever she had been brooding about and focus on hurting him.
P.V. was considerably faster than K.T. a good thing too because he needed to find a clearing, much like the one she was in now, that was surrounded by tall trees that he could use for high ground, pining K.T. to the ground with a volley of arrows. He would cycle her silently form his high point as S.S. taught him, but as he was a bit reckless, he wouldn't watch his use of arrows and eventually he would run out, leaving K.T with the advantage, as she is excellent at blocking attacks from different directions both efficiently and quickly, no movement wasted, as she herself had taught the girl at a very young age.
"Come out, Come out little bow boy, I know you're out of ammo, so come at me Bro!" K.T. would taunt as she listened for the smallest of sounds that would indicate where P.V was so that she could strike with her daggers. P.V. would stall for time by remaining still, trying to think of some way to retrieve what arrows he could, those not in splinters from coming into contact with K.T.'s fierce blows with her lance, but after finding none he would shrug and jump down as close to K.T. as possible, and move to the inside of her sword's range, to lessen the power of her blows as he dodged and tried to gather all of the arrows around her he could.
"HA! Nice try Princess, I'm all full now." He would say with a wink and run off again, K.T. in hot pursuit. M.V. smiled and shook her head sinking down to sit on the ground as she heard K.T's screams of outrage and the distinct boyish laugh that followed it. "Like bloody clockwork" she said with a chuckle again to the forest around her as she shook her head at their foolishness. Now she knew that if either of them where fighting a real appointment, their care free attitude would disappear, as any other Hervarar, a thought that slowly wiped the smile off of her face. "This world is too damn dark for me…and I'm only 25." She said aloud to the forest around her as she sighed and turned her face up to the sun shining into the clearing through the dome that protected their little island from detection.
She could hear the sound of leafs being trampled, and her student's laughter as she brewed on just how much she and the family expected of the children playing in the trees. She laughed darkly at the thought. Playing…right because most kids "play" with stainless steel lances and deathly sharp arrows…" she sighed again closing her eyes, trying to find some form of relaxation wail she could. Her mind drifted to last night, and she smirked a little at how ironic it was that her first thoughts wail "relaxing" where about work. They had landed rather late at night, having had to take a detour in Hong Kong to gather some information before heading back to their secluded island in the pacific. All of them where tired and ready for bed, but even before the door to the plane was opened, L.A, K.D, S.S, and herself had all gotten a text from her mom saying they where needed in the conference room.
"But we literally JUST got home, can't the debriefing wait until morning?" K.D. whined as the door opened to reveal Q.M smiling her motherly smile that put everyone on the plain on edge. Nothing good ever came when Commander Q.M gave her motherly smile…
"Whatever it is, I didn't do it." P. V said to the plane in general as he gathered K.T's and his own bags.
"I would hope not dear heart" Q.M said with a smirk as she turned and walked back down the stairs, sure that her students would fallow her she continued "But don't worry, no one is in trouble, at least not on this end, we just need K.D, Jr, L.A, and S.S in the briefing room, you two" she pointed to the two youngest "to bed with you, it's far too late for your growing bodies to be up."
"But don't we have to be part of the briefing too? I mean we are part of the team… at least that's what you guys keep telling us." K.T said, mumbling the last under her breath, much to the chagrin of P.V and the amusement of the four older girls. She must have been feeling ballsy if she was willing to make such a comment in front of Q.M. P.V tried to walk away, but Q.M's stern look and words kept him and the others still.
"Oh really now? And why exactly do you feel you are not part of the team little water mite? Because you abandon your post and leave your team vulnerable to attack from the rear or is it because you are not allowed to kill like the rest of the CHILDREN on this team?" Q.M said with a dangerous smile as the others looked away and K.T's eyes widened "Oh don't give me that look, I know what your complaints are little one, don't think you are the first, nor will you be the last foolish child to think that killing is anything but evil! I have half a mind to make you stay here for the next few hours and explain to you EXSACTLY why you are not allowed to kill and why you should be THANKING your big sisters for taking that burden from both P.V's and your own shoulders, but I have a meeting to get to, and YOU dear heart need to get to bed!" Q.M finished with a huff and turned her back on the girl who seemed to have shrunk as she spoke.
P.V sighed and lead K.T towards their rooms with a hand on her back as the girl continued to look down hiding the tears that threatened to fall. If there was one thing all of them hated, it was putting that look of disappointment and anger on Q.M's face. Of all of the commanders, she was always the one who kept the closest eye on them, and offered them guidance in things other than fighting, and in life in general. Her and N.J where the closest things any of them had to real mothers, even she who was lucky enough to have a mother still relied more on Q.M and N.J than her own "tyrant" of a mother.
S.S sighed as the rest of them had followed Q.M towards the meeting room. "Did you really need to tell Q.M? Wasn't that a bit much?" she had whispered to her as they walked a few steps behind the rest of them. "I mean I know I gave you permission to punish her, but that was just mean…"
"No, it was well deserved and hopefully a lesson learned for the little water mite. You are too soft on her, and on P.V for that matter, you do them no favors coddling them as you do." She had said with a sideward glance at the woman who over the years had become like a sister to her. "K.T has to know that she cannot afford to make those kinds of mistakes, she can't be allowed to not feel the consequence for her actions, because sooner than any of us would like, those action will have an effect on all of our lives. Remember that P.V and the other men call her "Princesses" for more reasons than just to bug her. She may be free to forget, but we cannot lose sight of the fact that the future of our family is in our hands to mold S.S. Besides it was either Q.M or N.J, you tell me which would have been meaner?" she said with a raised eyebrow.
S.S had conceded and they had proceeded to the meeting without another word on the subject. She didn't really remember most of the meeting as she had been day dreaming about her bed the whole time, but she figured it didn't really matter as she and L.A where to stay behind with the kids, which was find with her. She was due for a bit of a brake. Or so she thought. She remembered with a groan having been woken up not five hours after being let out of the beefing meeting to be rushed into yet another one. They were to go on another mission as soon and K.D, S.S, N.J and Sr. came back from Rome. It would be an assassination mission, but like all things in her life, it wasn't as simple as she would hope. They had to do the hit wail the target was inside a potential ally's base.
She got a headache just thinking about all of the things that could go wrong. For one, they needed to make the hit wail the target was outside the base, without being seen, or suspected of anything all wail trying to open lines of negotiation with the biggest family in the world. From what she could tell, they had a hand in every part of the world, in every industry, and ruled or worked with almost every family in the business. She banged her head agents the tree behind her as she dreaded the mission to come. But at least it would be their last one in a wail, they had been promised a vacation as soon as the mission was done, and as they where going to Japan, she was kind of excited, it was one of the few places her team and herself personally had never been too.
She frowned as she wondered what S.S would think about this next mission. She never did like doing work on other families turf if she could avoid it, even when the mission was to wipe them out. That and the fact that she had asked for a few days leave to go to Japan when she came back. She wondered if S.S was beginning to remember more about her past than she lest on. Over the last few years they had become accustom to her presence, and it was almost possible to forget that they had not grown up together forever, almost. But the little things would remind them, like the way she would eat sweets with such a sad smile, or start speaking in third person when she was excited, or even those weird sounds she made when scared. It was hard to get her to make them anymore as she was a trained killer and to get caught off guard could cost you your life in this line of work, but sometimes when the weather was stormy she would become dazed and turn into almost a different person.
But it all passed and she returned to her old self, kidding laughing with them, scolding the brats and pulling pranks on L.A with her between and sometimes even when on missions. Would she change into that stranger they sometimes see on those stormy nights if her memory returned? Would she no longer be her sister? She shook off the thought, it was of no consequence if she got her memory back or not, they were sisters threw blood bonds stronger than anything she could have had in the past, they had saved each other's lives on more than one occasions and would continue to until death finally caught up to them. She just hoped it would be a lot latter than sooner. She sighed and brought her knees up to rest her chin on as she continued to think about S.S and the upcoming mission.
The target was the younger brother of a Boss in Italy who was done with his constant betrayal and underhanded dealings in both drugs and human trafficking, giving a bad name to his family's name. The hit itself had come from form the brother, and as he was good friends with the boss, it wasn't one they could really deny. The Hervarar family was rather small, and what few allies they had they could not afford to lose, no matter how much they disliked them. That was another element to the mission she was dreading. They had to make a good impression at the celebration the target was attending, it was some sort of memorial or something for a member of the hosting family. The target (she forgot his name) was the distant cousin with one of the family members on his father side, so they had extended an invitation to them. The Boss (Larson she thought his name was) saw it as the perfect opportunity to attack his brother, as he would be away from the family and out in the open for at least some time. But all of that wasn't a problem, they could make the hit just fine, even with just her and the girls, but the problem was making a good impression.
Not they couldn't if given the chance no, the problem was that they wouldn't be left in charge of that, the brats would. She groaned at the thought of leaving the fate of their relationship with the most powerful mafia family up to a pair of pre-teens. What where the heads THINKING! She knew that K.T was expected to run the family when the time came, with P.V most likely at her side, but they were fucking KIDS for the sake of the Gods! But she had her orders, and if she ever learned one thing from her mother it was to fallow her orders, and deal with the shit that came from them as it came, no use dreading what hadn't happened yet she always said. Now the only problem was getting the kids to agree to the whole thing, not they really had a choice in the matter, but the quicker they excepted their roles the less time she had to hear them, mainly K.T, bitch and moan about them.
That was why she had bothered to even come look for her little hellions when she knew that they were training on their own, usually they left them be, but she had lost the game of rock paper scissors, so it was up to her to deal with the brats. She slowly stood up as she hear them coming back this way, P.V giggling like the school boy he should be and K.T following growling like the she lion she was convinced she had been in a past life. She stretched and pulled out some rope ready to use it on K.T if the brat go any ideas about running away. They needed to go to practical lessons, something none of them practically liked, but K.T had a special hatred of them. Jr. smiled to herself as she saw P.V crash into the clearing a volley of daggers fallowing along with a frustrated growl. She pulled one of her daggers out and flung it at P.V, trapping one of his hands to the tree next to him, distracting K.T long enough for her to tackle her to the ground and tie her up. With a smile she stood up, pulling K.T with her as the girl spit and wiggled to get out, walking calmly over to P.V as he tried to pull the dagger from the tree but stopped when he approached, knowing it was of no use.
M.D smiled, turning and half pulling, half dragging a rambling K.T with P.V following with a defeated look in his eyes and a sigh. There really was no pint fighting, so he let himself be lead to what he was sure wouldn't be half as entertaining as playing cat and mouse with K.T was.
OH yeah, one more things, I will be paring the other guardians with my OC's eventually, and was thinking of giving you guys a chance to choose which to pair with which, I have my own ideas, and I know you guys don't really know L.A, K.D or M.V very well yet, but if you guys do have an opinion latter on, feel free to speak up, I am in a sense writing this for those of you who give me a chance and read my work, so feel free to make suggestions (:
