So here's the next chapter! Yay! It didn't take me forever! Woot woot~ But anyways, I hope you all like it, this is a little set up for the next few chapters, how Haru get's back to Japan. You meet a lot of new people in this one, I hope you like them, and if anyone wants a family tree I will be happy to provide it, it can get a bit confusing even for me lol. Well as you all know KHM is not mine, I could never draw that well, but the idea for this story and it's OC's are.
Again hope you all like it :]

Somewhere under the Pacific Ocean—Privet island of The Hervarar family—

She was exhausted.

No, she was dead on her feet, that's what she was.

For a woman of only 26, L.A felt as if she had the experience and gray hairs of a woman twice her age. Not that anyone else could see her grays, her hair was silver to begin with after all. But she could tell, and it was not something she liked to see every morning. "This job is aging me…I need to retire." She said to the empty room around her. She had just finished her practical lessons with the two little demons who not two minutes before had flown from the room to escape anymore she might have been willing to teach them. She shook her head as she stretched behind her desk, feeling her joints pop and protest as she stood. As if I would even bother with those two if the boss hadn't ordered it. She thought as she walked around her desk to stand by a window, taking the time to enjoy the breeze coming into her class room.

As the eldest of her team, she was put in charge of teaching the rest of them lessons in both practical schooling and infiltration/negotiation. She really didn't mind, and in fact liked being a teacher most of the time, just not when her students had to be dragged and tied to their chair by her overly energetic Vice Captain. She smirked a little as she remembered looking up from papers in her hands to see Jr dragging K.T through the door as P.V calmly, if not reluctantly, fallowed and sat down.

"Two little demons as ordered" M.V had said with a smile and salute as she sat K.T down in her chair next to P.V. L.A shook her head and rolled her eyes as she finish reading the papers in her hands.

"Do you want to explain to me WHY I've been dragged half way across the island and am now being tied to a chair!?" K.T asked with a huff as she tried to get the hair that had fallen into her face in the struggle away from her eyes without her hands to work with as the bright blue/purple eyes, the trade mark of the Hervarar boss inherited from her mother, shined with furry. Today the girl was wearing her usual practice gear, spandex knee length shorts with specialized holsters for her daggers and poisons. Her top was a simple black T-shirt that kept her double lance holsters from chaffing her skin as she ran through the forest or obstacle courses that were available for use for all of the Hervarar family when training.

"Well that's obvious, they didn't want you to run." P.V said as he pulled his note book and pen out from he's desk. They kept all of their "school supplies" as they called it in the class room as there was no real threat of robbery when only family lived on the island.

"I GET that P, I'm not stupid!" K.T said as she glared at her companion "What I want to know is what it is we are doing here, and I swear if you say having a class I will strangle you with these ropes P." she hissed as P.V opened his mouth to answer.

"Well we are" he mumbled under his breath as scooted his chair a little bit further away from the growling girl next to him. He knew too well that even tided up as she was, she could do damage. M.V just chucked as she finished tying the girl to her chair and clapped her hands.

"Well little ones, you are indeed having a lesson, but not just any lesson, you get to learn how to 'negotiate'" she said with little air quotes around the "negotiate" and a smirk as K.T began to struggle and hiss.

"NEGOTIATE!? We do not NEGOTIATE! We are the Hervarar, a proud family of empowered women! Why on earth would we need to NEGOTIATE?!" she asked with a disgusted look.

"Because little one, that is exactly what you will be doing on your next mission." a voice said quietly from the back of the class room, making itself known for the first time and surprising the room's other occupants. L.A remembered frowning as she wondered just how long the woman had been sitting at the back of her class room without her noticing. "Don't think that just because you can use those swords on you back the world will bend to your will, you forget that there are others out there who can do it better than you." The woman at the back of the class said casually as she pushed off the wall she was leaning agents and slowly walked towards the rest of the group. "Negotiation is an important part of any mafia dealing, we do try not to kill all the people we encounter K.T, you should keep that in mind." She said as she finally reached the girl tied to the chair. Her dark knee length brown hair swayed behind her slim form hiding two flat spools of wire that sat on the center of her back, wire that seemed more like silk than steel it was so thin, but K.T knew that those spools held death for any who would get in V.V's way. V.V was one of her mother's commanding officers, and although she was one of the more caring, she was also one of the hardest to read. You never knew she was mad at you until it was too late, something her and P.V learned the hard way very early in their lives.

P.V smiled a little as he sensed his friend tense at his mother's words. Although he did love K.T dearly, he knew that she needed to be brought in and put in her place every now and then, less she get herself into too much trouble. For as much as he loved getting her out of it, he wouldn't want anything to put his K.T in too dangerous of a situation, especially herself.

"What's so funny little Prince? Do you enjoy watching my daughter get scolded so much?" a voice asked form the window, making him jump as he turned to meet shinning ember eyes partially hidden behind dark red hair that resembled his best friends so much, bringing shame to his own plain green eyes.

"Shadow! What? No, of course not!" P.V muttered as he felt his face flush red for being caught basically laughing at the future head of the family by the current second in command of the family, his commanding officer and her father no less. Nice one P. you had to let yourself smile. He scolded himself as he tried to come up with something to change the subject. "Welcome back Master, I'm glad to see your safe return." He said jumping up to his feet and bowing with his right fist over his heart as was protocol when addressing the man casually leaning on the window seal from the outside, his chin length light brown hair covering his embarrassed face from the world for the moment as he gathered his composure. Although the Hervarar family had only ONE Boss, the men answered and where controlled by the Boss's consort and second in command, be they male or female. Shadow had been the Ninth's consort for many years and had earned the respect and loyalty of what few men did call the Island of Madden's their home. P.V himself had been brought up to admire the man he now called Master.

"Yes, yes, all that formal junk is a waste of time, and don't feel bad about laughing at her P. she deserves it" Shadow said with a smirk and wink at his daughter. "I see you like the new gear we had made up for you, I noticed last time we spared that you were having trouble with the sleeves so I had them removed, how do you like it?" he asked as he hopped through the window, ignoring both his daughter's and V.V's glares and walking up to his student.

"Its grate actually, I have a lot more movement and I really like the simple design and the fact that if I need to I can throw a jacket on, ditch the quiver and blend in just fine, it will help a lot on covert missions." P.V said with a smile moving his arms around.

"Well if you boys are done talking fashion, we do have a point to get to you know." L.A had said in a board tone as she walked back to her desk and hoped on top of it. "And wail it is always good to see you two, can I ask why you're here?" she asked turning her own bright ember eyes to meet both the green cat like and ember eyes of her superiors.

"I came to help explain the mission to the kids." V.V said with a board look as she sat down in a vacant chair nearby.

L.A nodded and turned towards her other guest. "And you F.T? What brings you to my humble class room, you usually avoid it." She said with a smile, adjusting the simple sun dress she wore so that it didn't tear on the weapon folded on her back.

"Me? I just came to say high to K.T and wish her luck, it's been a wail since I've seen her. And don't call me F.T, you know I hate it." Shadow said as he bent to give his daughter a quick kiss on the check before she head butted him, getting a small laugh from V.V and the rest of the room. "Well that's what I get for trying to be a loving father." He said with a pout.

"If you want to be a loving father, then UNTIE ME!" K.T said as she continued to struggle. And glare at the room at large. She was getting tired of being forced to do things she didn't want to, and this was just humiliating especially in front of both P.V and her father.

"You'll be untied when we are done here, now stop squirming, you're hurting my rope." M.V said as she went to lean on the wall at the front of the room. She wore regular skinny jeans with knee high combat boots and a tank top with a leather jacket, and if not for the sword holster and lance on her hip, she could have passed for any other girl her age. That and her striking long purple/black hair and dark golden green eyes kept her from blending in too much anywhere. K.T glared at her but stopped her struggling to turn towards L.A. "Ok, ok, I have to learn to negotiate, but why?" she asked looking around.

"Because it's about time you learn something useful and prevalent for your future role as the head of the family." She heard her mother say as she walked into the room, causing all those present (excluding her as she was tied up) to stand and bow to the head of the family. "Oh enough of that, yes, yes, I'm here." Valery said as she walked further into the room, excepting the kiss form her consort and lifting an eyebrow at her daughter. "Aren't we a bit young to be experimenting in S&M Dear Kathleen?" she asked with a tilt of her head and smirk as she watched both her daughter and P.V turn beet red and avoid eye contact. Oh you two are WAY too easy….it's too cute! She thought to herself as she leaned on her consort, feeling his soft chuckle at the children's reaction to her statement. He knew it was coming, he knew his wife every well after all, but the reaction was still very amusing.

"MOM!" K.T hissed as she tried to redirect her blood from her pale face back to the rest of her body. This was really TOO humiliating, if her pride would let her she would wish to be swallowed up by the ground to escape this indignation, but as a Hervarar worrier she simply avoided P.V's eyes and hoped someone would untie her soon.

"What?" Valery asked innocently as her child glared at the floor. "Oh, is that not what this is? Oh well then I am sorry." And with that, quicker than a blink she sliced trough her daughters bonds with a small dagger she had slipped off of her consort's belt with a smile. "Better?"

"Yes, thank you." K.T said rubbing her arms as the blood flowed back to them and glared at M.V who seemed to be pouting over the loss of her rope muttering "that was my good rope…"

"Now that that's all settled, shall we get down to business?" L.A asked as she stepped around her desk again to pick up the folders she had prepared for her team mates, handing one to M.V and then two to P.V who had walked up to collect both his own and K.T's. L.A and the rest of the adults laughed secretly at the boy's obvious devotion to the girl who was completely oblivious and excepted the folder as if what P.V had done was normal and not an act of affection. I really need to talk to that girl…she's just too oblivious sometimes her mother thought with a shake of her head as Shadow chuckled behind her again. "As we've said, you are to learn to negotiate, but not just that, you are going to learn how to form a bond with another family, one that will keep us both as equals in each other's eyes, and reap mutual benefit for years to come." L.A continued as she sat down locking her eyes with K.T as she spoke, ignoring the movement of the rest of the room taking a seat. The boss had chosen to sit on the table directly behind her daughter, her concert taking a seat next to her, M.V seemed content leaning agents the wall besides the chalk board as she read the details in the folder.

"Ok, so we just have to make friends with some family outside the island, sound easy enough" K.T said with a shrug opening the folder in front of her and skimming the details. She felt more than saw P.V tense beside her as he reached the bottom of the first page, and as her own eyes reached it, she felt her face pale. "Wait. We're trying to become friends with the VONGOLA!? THE VONGOLA!?" she said as she took a closer look at the information provided in the folder. There were pictures, of all leading members of the family, the Guardians as they were called, along with their boss and their base. "You do realize that these people basically run the world right?" she asked the room in general as she continued to look at the pictures in her file. It seemed like one of the requirements for getting in this particular family was to be hot cuz DAMN, some of their Guardians were rather nice to look at.

P.V noticed how his friend spent a little too much time admiring the pictures in the files and rolled his eyes. Girls he thought as he looked up to L.A "Ok, so how is this supposed to go down? Do we just ask to speak with them?"

"Good question, but it's not that easy, they are a really busy family, and usually getting in there is impossible without a get in." V.V said as she leaned onto her hand to look at the kids in front of her. She still wasn't sure why the Ninth was letting them go in her place, but she also wasn't one to question her orders so she would help any way she could.

"So how do we get in then? We can't just attack them now can we? Can we?" K.T asked with a raised eyebrow looking back to her mom who just smiled and shook her head.

"No, we don't attack them that kind of defeats the purpose of trying to make friends K." M.V said with a chuckle as she shook her head "We have been lucky enough to have been invited to an event at the Vongola base in Japan, some sort of memorial."

"Well to be more specific dear heart, you have been invited to attend the event" the boss said as she placed a gentle hand on her daughters head and smiled down at her.

"What? Me? Why me?" she asked looking towards her mother confused.

"Because as much as we dread it brat, you're the next head of the family, and the Vongola boss wants to meet you. Seems he was about your age when he started training to become a Boss and he wants to give you some advice. That and he probably hear about our skills, we've been gaining some publicity of late, thanks to your little "Storm Flower Team" or whatever you guys call yourselves." R.L said as he walked into the room and sat behind his wife, throwing something to his son. "That's from the Bahama's. Be grateful"

"Gee thanks dad." P.V said in a board tone as he examined the jar of sand his father had almost killed him with.

"Good to see you too dear, how was the trip." V.V said as her husband slid his arms around her and the chair she sat in, placing his chin on her shoulder.

"Meh, you've stopped one cue, you've stopped them all." He said with a shrug letting his wife brush his blond hair out of his face, focusing his bright green eyes on his son and the princess in front of him. "I know you are allowed to forget how much of a role you play in this family because of your age, but it's about time you two remember who you are, yeah you too kid, as much as we all try to forget, you two are the future of this family. May the Gods have mercy on us." He said the last with a sigh as he avoided his wife's elbow he knew would be aimed at his stomach.

"But I thought I had a few more years before that became a problem" K.T said looking towards her mother, concern clear in her eyes. As much as she knew her superiors thought she forgot, she knew full well just who she was, and what was expected of her should something happen to her mother. She would often think about it, but pray it never happened, because that would mean something happened to her mother, or her family that forced her to take over, and that was something that often kept her up at night. P.V was the only one who knew just how much the weight of her birth affected her, and she thanked him every day for not letting anyone else know. P.V was also well aware that he was expected to become one of K's commanders one of these days, taking over either his mother's or his father's position on the board, but like his friend he didn't like to contemplate the possibility of something happening to either of his parents or family in general.

"Oh don't get too excited dear heart, I'm still young and well so you will not be getting the crown just yet" her mother said with a wink as she ruffled her hair before her blue eyes turned serious, a sight that always seemed to put K.T on edge. "That being said, you still have a responsibility to be ready for anything, especially in current times. Our wars, however covert and small they may seem, are putting a strain on us. We are a small family, hardly more than 400 strong, but strong we are." She said with pride as the room as a whole held their head high. "But" she said as she walked up to the front of the class room, making sure to catch everyone's eyes before meeting her daughters and continuing. "Strong though we may be, our numbers are still small, and losing even one of our warriors can have devastating effects on the whole. We all know that not all of us come back from our missions." She said with a sad smile as the adults in the room nodded in agreement. K.T and P.V had never lost a team mate personally as their group was one of the best, and their missions did not usually leave room for the enemy to attack back, but they did know what is was like to lose a friends from other groups and so understood what the boss was saying.

"So is that why we are trying to be friends with the Vongola? To get an extra layer of protection when on missions?" P.V asked as he reread the information they had gathered on the Vongola and their network, it seemed to him that they were basically Gods in the mafia world and could see how much of a good ally they could be. But being raised by two commanders he also saw what a threat they could be if the negotiations went south. K.T would have to be very careful not to insult or mess up on this mission or the family could be put in a lot of very real danger.

"Yes, and no" Shadow said from behind them " Yes because as you can probably tell, they do offer a protection to their partners that would be of great use especially in Russia, as you both know, they are our biggest enemies and make no consequence of killing our people, in or out of battle." K.T and P.V nodded as they remembered the extra procession they had to take in their last mission in Russia "And no because, as you have probably realized already P.V, the main reason we are trying to become friendly with them is just for the fact that we can't afford not to be."

P.V nodded in understanding as K.T's eyes widened and she turned towards her mother "Do you really think they would attack us?" she asked as she fought off the thought. Should they go to war with such a powerful and large family, she had no doubt that her whole family would fight to the last for their honor, she just feared that they may have to and picturing her whole family broken like that was something she would rather avoid.

"No, I don't think so, they do not usually go after families like ours." Her mother said as K.T sighed in relief

"But we might be forced to." R.L said from her left, making the whole room tense.

"What do you mean dad?" P.V asked

R.L sighed as he felt M.V and L.A glare at him and looked towards his boss, who nodded her head giving her permission to explain. "Well little ones, the ugly truth of the matter is due to our war with basically all of Russia and other miner skirmishes around the world, we have had to sell our skills."

"We know that, we're part of one of our mercenary groups, but what does that have to do with going after the Vongola?" K.T asked

"If you would let me finish" R.L said with a glare, effectively shutting the girl up, "We have been forced to take jobs we might not have in the past due to our moral codes and what not, but that kind of stuff tends to go out the window when you're faced with the threat of losing a war for no other reason but the lack of funds."

"And one of those jobs might be agents the Vongola" P.V said with wind eyes as he figured out just how close they were to the reality of war agents the Vongola. K.T was in a bit of shock. She had never really padded a lot of attention to where her equipment or the food she ate came from, she kind of just expected it to be there, but now that she thought about it, although their family was small, 400 people could not live on such a small collection of Island without supplies from the outside, especially when at war. She felt like such a spoiled brat to have not realized what kind of position her family was in. How am I supposed to rule this family if I can't even notice when we are fighting to stay afloat?

"Exactly" L.A said from her place on her desk "So before that happens, we need to instead get jobs from the Vongola, ones what will pay us well and keep us from being able to attack them because they are a friendly family. "Now we all know that the Vongola has their own little group of assassins, the Varia, but they don't always use them, sometimes they out scores jobs when they don't necessarily want to be connected to them. And that's where we come in."

"So we would basically be taking out the targets they don't want to get dirty with?" P.V asked as he leaned back in his chair, finally willing to except this mission for what it was.

"But won't that put us in a bad light? You know with other families?" K.T asked leaning onto her desk, getting comfortable.

"Not necessarily, I mean we are good, and known for not being able to be tracked or traced back to a mission or killing, plus with the Vongola on our side, there are not many who would question our motives or actions." P.V said casually as the adults nodded in agreement.

"Well aren't we observant." A voice said from the back of the class and Q.M walked to the front of the class to hand a file to the boss, her short black hair framing her face, Gold green eyes shining with pride for her student. "You have always been able to pin point the most important point for information and simply it for the rest of the team, it's a good trait, you'll find a lot of good use for it when you finally become K.T's consort." She said with a nod and mother smile as the rest of the adults held in their laughter and K.T and P.V basically turned into tomatoes.

L.A laughed out loud to the empty room from her spot by the window looking out and up into the water dome that encompassed her home. She sighed and shook her head remembering how long it took them to get back on track, but eventually they had and the details for the kid's mission were given. They would not be allowed to go as assassins, but as the son and daughter of ruling members of the family, something that both did not like, but excepted as they really didn't have much of a choice in the matter. Their weapons would be carried and kept by other members of their squad, who would be acting as their body guards and escorts. K.D and herself as the closet blood relatives to both P.V and K.T would be going as their aunts rather than their body guards, leaving only Jr and S.S to act as their first line of defense and the ones that would partake directly in the second mission. That had yet to be discussed with the brats, as the Boss and the rest of the commanders had been called away due to the information Q.M had brought with her. They would discuss it and more of the rest of their orders when S.S and the rest of them came back. After that, they would all hop on a plane and be in Japan in a few hours. L.A sighed again, wary for what was to come. She didn't know why but she had the sinking feeling that things would start to go horribly wrong as soon as they walked into the Vongola base. She shut her eyes and sent a little prayer to the Goddess that nothing too horrible would befall her small group of friends. As she opened her eyes she heard the unmistakable sound of one of their ships sliding through their barrier, in another few minutes its occupants would be on the island and ready for bed. She gave a small smirk as she walked out of her classroom and towards the dock and thought of how disappointed K.D would be to have yet another day of sleep stolen from her.
