Character Poems: the Chosen through Time
26. Kimura Kouichi
Maybe he was just frightened
of pain; he knew though it was something
he didn't want to feel
But he felt it anyway, no matter who tried
to take it away…and who would?
The empty echo in his chest was just as bad
as the swollen heart –
Or worse, when he didn't understand
why, or even how, he hurt:
he was nothing but an empty shell
after all
But he wasn't; he would never be
for the soul was not so quick to die,
even without memories
And it wasn't until he accepted it
did the pain fade away.
