6. Nothing Is More Innocent Than A Child's Look Or A Guppy's

"Jules?"The guy asks, looking at her from head to toe, surprised too
"Willy?" she had a surprise look on her face
"It's been long, baby sister" Guillermo says, still in shock
"10 years but who's counting?" she says with a small laugh. "What are you doing here?" she asks.
"I came back for you, despite our distance; I still love you, Juliet"
"Excuse me? What did you just say, buddy?"
"Who are you?"
"Who's you?"
"No, it's ok. Gnomeo, can you wait outside while I talk to my beloved big brother" she hesitates at that last part.
Gnomeo was surprised to see this man was her long lost brother but he didn't say a word and respected her decision and leaves the greenhouse to go play with their daughter, who was outside playing on her swing set. Juliet was left alone with Guillermo, it made Juliet rub her hands and he notices that but thought it wasn't important it but to her it was, extremely. Her emotions where taking over her powers again, she could see water in glasses, bowls, sinks, pots, anything that had water inside was secretly moving, boiling, bubbling, even freezing but she stayed calm and any sign of her powers vanished. But it's hard to control them since the person who feared to hurt with them has come back.
Neither of them said a word to eachother for a long while until he finally broke the ice.
"I see that things have changed since I left" he sets, looking around the greenhouse by how big and lovely it was.
"What do you mean?" she asks, without facing him, still afraid/worried.
"I see you're very close to the Blue. So, I'm guessing the feud's over or what?"
She finally turns to face him "Yeah, it was, 6 years ago. That Blue is Gnomeo, my husband"
"I would have never guessed you out of all the people I know, you would marry a Blue"
"Yeah, I still can't believe it myself. It's a long story if you want to hear it"
"Maybe some other time but I would like to hear the truth"
"The truth? What truth?" she knew what he was talking about but she didn't want to answer because she wasn't ready to tell him about her secret.
"Listen, Jules, I spent 10 years without seeing you, without knowing why you shut me out or hearing from you. But now that I have you in front of me, I think I deserve a reasonable explanation"
"Willy, believe me when I say this, it hurt me deeply for what I did to you these last 10 years but there are some things you wouldn't understand of why I did it. I wish I could tell you but..."
"But why? Jules, you can tell me anything! What is this big secret that you don't trust me with? Is it too painful for you to trust me with it?!"
"It's more than you think! It's too complicated"
"Jules, since I left when I was 18, there wasn't a day gone by that I haven't thought about you"
"Neither did I with you"
"I came back to fix things between us, to fix that wonderful and colourful relationship you and I had when we were kids. Juliet, we were so close, we can be like that again if you would just give me a chance and tell me the truth"
Like if she had a terrible flashback of her past, involving she hurting Willy with her powers, Juliet backs away from him in fear with her arms folded over her waist.
"No, we can't. I'm sorry, Willy"
"Juliet, wait, I promise to not judge you or think less of you, I promise to understand your reasons and whatever they are, it won't make me love you any less, sissy"
Juliet signs "Will, I still think you're not ready to know my reasons but all you need to know is that I did it to protect you"
"Protect me? Protect me from what?"
"You wouldn't understand"
"Of course I don't because you haven't told me"
Then Juliet got an idea, it was risky but he deserves to know this secret.
"Willy, I know that I've kept secrets from you and you deserve to know the truth but it's very dangerous and risky, so the less you knew about me the better. But there is something you should know"
"You're finally going to tell me your secret?"
"No but this is something that involves both of us, it's somebody actually, that bonds us together. Somebody who's been missing out of your life more than me"
"What exactly are you talking about, Jules?" he asks, very confused.
"I think it's best you meet this person" she finishes.
With hesitation, Juliet walks over to the nightstand where her phone was; she picks it up and dials a number and waits.
"Hello?" a familiar voice said on the other line.
"Hey, it's me"
"Juliet, everything ok?"
"Actually, I need you to come over. There's somebody here who'd you want to meet"
"Ok, I'll be right over"
She hangs up and looks back at Willy. She was still afraid and co0ncern of this decision but she would feel even guilty inside if she kept this secret hidden from him. At least
"What is this about, Jules?"
"You'll see and maybe you can understand this part of the secret even if it's gonna shock you. But until then, you must be hungry, want something to eat"
"Sure, whatever you got is fine"
"So, tell me, what have you been up too?"
"I've been travelling all over the world these last few years, photographing the greatest sighting in the world. I'm planning on doing an exhibition in 3 months and I want you and the entire family to come"
"When you say the entire family, you mean all of them?"
"Yeah, you, Dad & Tybalt and anybody you want to invite"
"Yeah, you have no idea what's in store" she mumbles
"What?"
"Nothing. I just said that there some new people you should meet first"
"Oh yeah, like who?"
Before Juliet could answer, a little person came running in, covered in mud "Hey, mummy! Can I have some ice cream?"
"No, Mimi, no sweets before lunch but after. And why are you cover in mud?"
"Daddy and I had a little mud fight when he was trying to get me out of it" she giggles, making the siblings chuckle.
"She reminds me of you, Jules" Willy interrupts with a laugh.
"Willy, this is Rosemary, my daughter" Juliet bright Mimi to her brother "Mimi, this is your uncle Willy"
"Hi" Mimi says with her baby voice. "Are you really my mummy's brother?"
"Yeah, I am, sweetie. And you look just like your mum when she was your age" he tickles her tummy and she laugh.
Juliet smiles by how fast her brother and daughter were bonding but then frowns in secret, knowing how they missed those years of growing apart instead of growing together, side by side. Soon, her thoughts were interrupted when someone approached the doorway.
"Juliet, sweetheart, I'm here. What is it you wanted to... talk... about" Marina stops talking when she saw Guillermo inside.
15 long years, 15 long painful years without seeing her only son. It gave her a massive pain her heart. She's spent half his childhood being part of the sea.
"Mum?" Willy was in shock, his mother; the one h thought dead was right in front of him.
Marina didn't have the words or the courage to explain right now, so she just flea, running out the door. Marina ran out the door, crying her eyes out but Willy went after her, wanting more than talk to her. Juliet had a mixture of sadness, concern and nervousness. She was really worried this will make things worse for her and Willy. She left so horrible for hiding her mum from Willy, their mother. After telling Mimi to go play in her room, Juliet went go to go talk to them. She couldn't take it anymore; she has decided to tell him the truth, not caring the consequences or what her mum will say. She lost Willy once; she wasn't going to lose him again because of this secret.
Meanwhile, Marina was already half way out of the main garden, reaching the gate to the alley but she felt a hand pull her back into a tight embrace, her son's embrace. He wasn't going to let her go.
"Mum! Mum!" he cried until he finally caught her, hugging her tight in his arms. he has missed the warm hugs of his mother and hearing her sweet gentle voice which was now in crying mode but he didn't care.
"Leave me alone! Let me go, you have no idea how ashamed I am!"
"No, no, mum, for nothing in the world I'll let you go, not again. But you need to tell what happened with you? Where were you all these years?!"
"I swear to you that the last thing I wanted to do is hurt you or your sister"
"I know, I know but there are some thing I don't understand yet. You need to tell me so I can see if I can understand"
"My Willy, all you need to understand that if I was absent all these years it was to prevent anything happens to you or your sister and father. Especially not you since you were always this fragile. But please don't hate me; I never wanted to hurt you. And also please don't hate your sister for keeping this a secret, for shutting you out when you were just a sweet innocent boy in need of her love and her friendship. But you need to understand that it's not her fault, I asked her to keep this from you for your own protection, she was afraid she might hurt you, she was just trying to protect you"
"I know, mum, I know. But nobody replaced my love for her or you. Never, there wasn't a day I didn't think or loved you less"
"Forgive me, please, forgive me" "You have no idea how longed I dreamt of this day"
"I know, mum"
"To have you like this, in my arms"
"Oh, mummy, I want to know everything. I want you to tell me anything. How did you save yourself? Why didn't you tell me you were alive, why didn't you call me? Why didn't you tell me?!"
"No, I did call but I was afraid. Afraid for you, afraid for Juliet, for your father and me. But believe it or not, I did found ways to be near you. In my own way, I protected you all these years in secret. Remember the day when you saw a woman swimming near the beaches of Italy?"
"That was you, mum?!" he cries in shock and she nods. "Oh no, mum! I thought it was an illusion of me missing you"
"Yeah, that was me"
"Why, mum? Why did you go? Why did you risk yourself if you were in that much danger to not come back? And when did you come back here?"
"It was an impulsive move. I felt so angry and guilty with myself that I away from you kids all this time and didn't have the guts to tell you the truth until now. And I feel even angry for what happened between you and Juliet because of me, but don't get mad at her because of me; it's not her fault she had to do this"
"What do you know, mum? What is that terrible secret that kept us apart? Please, tell me!"
"*Sigh* My love, there are some things you're just not ready to understand, Willy"
Willy huffs "More secrets, mum? More than knowing that my mother has been alive all these years without telling me? And that my sister has shut me out without a reason? When is this going to end? When are you both going to trust me with this mysterious secret? Is there something grave you don't want me to know about? Or something I can't handle?"
"The only responsible of those secrets are me. And I wish more than anything to tell you the truth but I can't, not right now. I need some time to think of the right moment. But promise me you won't push your sister, she's in enough pain and danger right now"
"Danger? What kind of danger?" he ask, concern.
"Let's just say that she reached the age where she has to pain the consequences of that secret and it's all my fault"
"Mum, I can help her; I can help my sister if you would just tell me this painful secret between you and her. Please, just tell me"
"Willy, I..." she begins but was cut off.
"He needs to know, mum. It's time he knew the truth" Juliet spoke up as they both look at her.
Marina knew what she meant and it worried her "But Juliet. You know what's at stake here; you're not ready to face this..."
"I know, mum. But it's not fair to keep hiding this from Willy. Because of me, he feels that lonely void inside him and so do I, I still do after 15 long lonely years being locked behind my pedestal, regretting every minute I was away from my family. All because of these cursed powers!" Juliet finally blurted out.
Willy was shock and confused "Powers? What powers?"
"Juliet, you need to calm down. You're still wounded"
"No, mum! Don't treat me like I'm weak cause I am not and I can't take it anymore! I can't keep keeping this from my brother! It's tearing s both apart!"
"Wait, wait, let's all calm down and let me try to understand... you have powers? What kind of powers, Juliet?"
"Powers that would shock you. The kinds that have beauty and danger in them, the kind that grew stronger every time I grew, the kind I fear they will hurt you again, the kind that I've had since I was 8 years old, the kind she gave me"
"You gave her powers? Ok, I'm not getting this. And if this is a joke, I saw it's not funny. And another thing..."
Before Willy could finish her sentence, Juliet extends her arm out and makes the water of the pond float in the air, doing several acrobatic tricks. Willy was shock with his eyes widen big and his jaw to the ground. Marina watched with concern of what her son might be thinking of this. Juliet made all sort of tricks, she boiled the water and then froze it solid and then made it Jello-ish.
"I tried keeping this away but my bond with you is stronger than my will"
"So, your powers are controlling water?" That's the big secret?"
"No, there's more than that, Willy. I can control water because I'm a fish"
"Wait, a what?"
"I'm a mermaid"
"A mermaid? Like half human, half fish? Ok, I've heard some crazy cover stories before but this is ridiculous"
As Willy continues to babble like crazy, Juliet sits down on the ground and made some water float over to her, splashing it over her. Willy spotted talking when he felt a bright glow blinding him a little, he watches in awe and shock who Juliet's peachy legs turn into a scaly red mermaid tail. She clothes went away and she was in her seashell bra and hair bandana with smaller seashells as pins.
"Proof enough for you?" she asks, breaking him out of his trance.
Willy just stayed there, without a single word coming out of his mouth. All he could do is stare at the long red fish tail that was connected to his sister's body. She saw the shock in his eyes and it made her turn away from him, everything was quiet. Neither said a word, neither did the mother, the brother or the sister. But he did finally made a movement of slowly kneeling down to her. He had an urge to touch her tail but hesitated. She saw this and nodded as in giving him permission and he did it. He strokes it and it felt really rough and scaly, he lets out a chuckle.
Somebody pinched him cause this was too good to be true. After all these years, the truth finally comes out but he didn't expect something so extraordinary like this!
"Quite a shocker, huh?" Juliet finally says, breaking him out of his trance and smiling.
Willy laughs with hesitation "Yeah, I just thought you were too stubborn to see me but never imagine anything like this. Why didn't you just tell me?" he asks
"Willy, I think it's best to talk this some other time" Marina interrupts.
"No, mum. This is my decision and I chose not to keep this any longer from my brother. And I suggest you do the same by telling him your story and our entire secret"
"You too, mum. What secrets do you have, besides being alive all these years"
"Willy, my boy, I'll tell you but please to try to understand that I did what I did to protect you both. And I am the one responsible for Juliet's powers but when I saw that they were too strong for her to control, I told her to stay away from you for your own protection" she confesses.
"So, let me get this straight you faked your own death and made my sister shut me out by some dumb secret"
"Willy, I know it's all cruel and harsh for you to understand but mermaid powers are extremely dangerous when one can't control them. Your sister was very young when she got her powers, she was just a child but me and the merpeople saw a bright soul and power in her that they deny to take it away from her. Yes, she was trained to control them but their teaching wasn't enough, so she just kept them hidden from everybody, especially from you"
"Mum, I know I was a fragile kid back them but that didn't mean to take away my right of knowing about this. It's wasn't fair for me or Juliet. You guys have no idea what I've been through without you guys"
"We understand you perfectly, my boy. But your life was in danger if you knew and not just because of Juliet but other things too"
"What else is there?"
"Mermaids have enemies. Dangerous enemies. And unfortunately, Juliet had a horrible encounter with them a few days ago that almost cost her her life and he husband's"
"Who was it, Jules? Who almost killed you? Tell me so I can make them pay" He pleads her but she didn't want to tell him by knowing what pirates aka Mercutio is capable of.
"Willy, Pirates are not to be taken lightly, especially a specific one that is after me"
"Who is he?"
"He's somebody who's obsessed with me and wants something that I have but refuse to give him"
"He's not getting them, my girl. He's not getting your scales"
"It's not just my scales that he's after. It's the Star of Hope he wants"
"Well, whatever that is, he's not getting you or it. I'm here to protect you and to make up all that lost time we never need. I need with both of you"
Guillermo hugs them both and kisses their forehead as the girls hugged him back, missing him so much. Despite the harsh words, Juliet was thrilled to have back the long lost love of her brother and he finally got their mother back, she could tell he's missed her so much after she "died".
It's been a long interesting day for the Redbrick family after the small long awaited reunion between mother and son and brother and sister. Lord Redbrick couldn't be happier to have his full family back together and he swore on his life, he would never let them go. Juliet did the same, even though it was still risky telling Willy her painful secret, he could still be in danger. But she will protect him but not like before, by standing up for him and her family.
(That night, Red garden)
Everything was peaceful in the 3 gardens, crickets were chirping and fireflies were glowing around the summer plants and flowers. Juliet just tucked in her child in her bed and waited for her husband to come back from the Blue garden. Lawnmowers races as always but she wasn't complaining. Juliet was in her living room, looking over her box of childhood memories again. She still had a long way to go to catch up with all that lost time with her brother.
She puts away the box and looks at another treasure she always protects with her life, the Star of Hope. She's kept it safe all these years that only she and her mum knew about, nobody can know about it's power. She holds it in her hand and gently stroke it's points which were lighten up like always, its power was inside it and she can feel it growing inside it like her own. Strong powers that can easily be exposed if not careful. She will not let anything happen to her, for her own good and the good of her family and the merpeople.
"Now more than ever you need to protect it" Marina came in the room, noticing her daughter with the star.
"I know, mum. I'll always will" Juliet nods, holding the star close to her heart.
"I have to confess that I was a bit angry when you told him. You know he wasn't ready yet"
"I know but I don't care, I couldn't keep this from him anymore"
"Me neither, even if I don't regret you telling him. It still concerns me for his safety"
"I know, me too. We were just kids when it happened"
Marina softly nods, understanding her children's complicated relationship. Marina sits down next to Juliet, taking the star away and setting it aside. The mermaid pulls her little mermaid into her arms and stroke her soft brunette hair. Juliet love and miss her mother's cares like this. To be protected and loved by the person who´s been missing most of her life but is not going away ever.
Then Marina broke the silence by a concern thought.
"Juliet, earlier you said something of being worst than getting your pearls cut off. What did Mercutio really try to do to you?"
"He tried to poison me with Ursula's Ink"
"Ursula's Ink!? I thought it all got destroyed when she died!"
"Well, Mercutio managed to save some of it and he put my name on it, just waiting to turn me into his personal killer" Juliet cringed by the horrible thought.
"He's not getting anywhere near you with that. I promise you that you will not turn into a killer mermaid" Marina said, stroking he hair again.
"What if he does? What if I feel into his traps and he gives me the venom? What if I got after you, or Dad, or Gnomeo, or Mimi, or even Willy" Juliet sobs harder.
"You don't need to keep anymore secrets from them. Especially from Willy anymore, she knows and your brother understands why you unintentionally ignore him all these years"
"Yeah, but he's normal and I'm cured with these powers"
"Not cured, my girl. Gifted"
"Gifted? May I remind you that I hurt my brother with my powers as kids, mum. Even if he understood, do you think he'll forgive me?"
"He will. All you have to do is calm down. And we need to focused on your powers. We'll have to talk to Cordelia about this, see if she can help"
"You think she knows what's happening to me? Do you by chance know what could that be?"
"Yes, I do, Jules. You're at the age of getting your full mermaid powers and these new powers are the first sign and it can be very risky into exposing your secret. You have to promise me you'll be more careful with these powers. Some of them can be beautiful but the others can be very dangerous"
"Did you go thru this, mum?"
"Yes, I did. But I had a very special help from the mermaid queen"
"Cordelia? The mermaid queen? Tell how you know her again?"
"Yep. You and her go way back when you were a merchild. I perfectly remember the times you spend in mermaid school when you were younger. You were the most popular one because you were the protected one of the queen and the one who is half human"

(Flashback, 15 years ago)
In the fair underwater mermaid kingdom of Oceania, the coral was brightly colored and the water were crystal clear as the sunrays from the surface shinned down to the bottom over the kingdom and it's merpeople. In the centre there stood a majestic castle. It shinned gold and with a baby blue glow around it, giving it light and life. Young Marina swam toward that castle while holding hand in hand with her young guppy, Juliet. (A/N: Mermaid kids are called guppies) It was the young guppy's 1st day of school and not just any normal school like in the real world. This was mermaid school for guppies of all ages went to this school to control their gifted powers, born or cursed. Mostly all of these guppies are prince and princesses of kingdom that belong to every sea creature in the ocean.
The mother and child came to the front doors of the castle as the guards let them pass since the queen told them she was expecting them. The throne room came to view where a beautiful older mermaid, almost Marina´s age with stunning shinny long black hair where she wore a crown with golden seashells and pink pearls on her head. Her tail was entirely green with silver stripes.
Queen Cordelia was beloved by her people, not just by her beauty but by her kindness and how she uses her unique powers to take care of the ocean and all the creatures and plants. Her tail and scales were the source of that power, she uses it wisely. She also knew about Marina and her child, how they were half human and the powers they have inside them, especially Juliet even if she is just a guppy with a massive power inside her. She's here to help her control it with a special artefact, The Star O f Hope.
"Your majesty"
"Marina, dear. It's so good to see you as always. And please, I told you a million of times to call me Cordelia. You and I are family; you and me are like sisters"
"I know, Cory but it's still had to get used to you like this. I mean, you became Queen as few weeks ago"
"Yeah, I'm still trying to get used too. Anyways, enough of me, is she here?"
"Yes, she is. Juliet, my dear, come meet Queen Cordelia!" Marina calls and guppy Juliet swims over to the mermaids.
"Your majesty" Juliet bows with a nervous squeaky voice.
Queen Cordelia chuckles "Dear child, you don't have to be so formal with me. I'm more than just the Queen, I'm also your godmother"
"Really? That is so cool!"
"And there is another reason why I want to be your godmother. I want to be your teacher on how to control your powers. I see a great power in you, Juliet. That's why I chose you to be the protector of the Star of Hope"
"You chose me? I thought my mum chose me?"
"No, my dear. I did. You mother just gave it to you after I told her too"
"But why me?"
"Because the Star told me to chose you. Along with me, it tells me who has that power to protect it and who to give its power to"
"And when will that happen?"
"When you're ready, you will know. But for now, promise me that you will take care of it and let nothing happen to it"
"I promise"
"Remember that this is not a toy, it's a source of power and you mustn't let anybody go near it"
"I know and I promise, godmother"
"Good, child. Now let's go, school starts in 10 minutes"
"Will I fit in with the other guppies, godmother. Cause I'm not exactly like them"
"You will, sweetie. And if not, I'll send them to my dungeon. No, just kidding but yes, Juliet, you will fit in because even if you are half human, you're still like them. Now, let us go" she says and the 2 mermaids followed her out the castle
They swam a few miles down to the mer-town below the castle where every merman and mermaid waved and bow to their Queen and she waved back to them. Soon they reached the town's school for guppies. It was a building made completely out of the strongest coral in the sea. There was many parent with their guppies, preparing them for their classes and others were already playing in the playground as they wait for classes to start.
Even though she was still a little nervous, Juliet looked around the school and thought it was a happy fun place to, a place where she can belong with her own kind. When she's a human, she feels like a freak when knowing she was a half fish. But here, she wasn't ashamed or embarrassed; she can be herself here and hopes she will make friends. Marina notices her daughter's look.
"Are you excited, my girl?" Marina asked as she swam next to her daughter.
"A little nervous, mum" Juliet says.
"Not to worry, dear girl. I have told everybody it's your first day and I'm sure everything will be just fine" Queen Cordelia cuts in, making Juliet feel better.
"It's the Queen!" the parents and the guppies noticed the arrival of their Queen and quickly bow down to her.
"Queen Cordelia" they all bowed to her and Cordelia nods her head in respect and smiles.
"Good morning, my fellow subjects and students. I'm here to introduced a new student, my goddaughter, Juliet Isabel Redbrick" she announces while pulling Juliet to her side.
"Hi" Juliet said, nervously and the others said hi back and wave to her.
"She will be enjoying you from now on and learn to control her powers. I want you all to make her feel welcome" Cordelia says
"Very well, your majesty. And what kind of princess are you, Juliet" the teacher mermaid asks, approaching the child and queen.
The Queen sets in before Juliet could answer "Actually, Ms. Reef. Juliet is not entirely mermaid since she is half human" the queen says, making the others gasps.
"A human, you say?!" Ms. Reef gasps in shock like all the others.
"Yes, but she has been gifted with complete mermaid powers by the 5 points of the star of Hope. She is the gifted one and I expect you to be kind to her, since she is a very sweet and wonderful girl"
"As you wish, your majesty" Ms. Reef nods
"Have fun, my girl. I'll see you after class" Marina says, hugging Juliet tight
"And remember what I told you, child. Take care of that star, don't take your eyes of one second" Queen Cordelia said, serious, knowing that Juliet had the Star in her backpack.
"I will, godmother. I promise" Juliet smiles, making Cordelia smile as well.
"We will see you at the end of the day, my girl" Marina gives her a kiss on her forehead.
Juliet took a few swims away and looks back at them. They gesture her to go on and she did by going to her first class, hoping she will get thru the day.
After a few morning classes, the recess school bell rings and all the merkids swim out to the playground. They usually played on the swing sets or have a nice game of mer-ball. (A/N: It's futbol/soccer but u play with your tail) Little Juliet came out of the classroom and casually swam thru the crowd, she could have sworn she was getting glares and glimpse from everybody since she was different and by different, half human. She was still nervous of not fitting in but kept calm. Juliet held her flat backpack in her arms, only having one thing inside it, The Star. She left her books and other stuff inside the classroom but kept the Star and maintains it in her backpack for protection. Even though she knew these guppies and merpeople knew about the Star but didn't know that a guppy like her had it.
As the others play around her, the little mermaid sits on a coral bench while looking at the Star in her backpack, making sure it was ok and it was. Soon, she was approach by a group of mermaid girls. All these girls belong to the small kingdoms of the sea creatures but were normal like any guppy in the sea.
"Hi" one of them greeted, friendly
"Hi" Juliet greets back
"You're the new guppy, right" another asked
"Yeah, I am" Juliet stood up on her tail
"I'm Breezy, princess of octopuses" the lead guppy said. Princess Breezy had long light brown hair that went down to her waist, almost reaching the upper half of her tail. Her tail was pink/red and had a few octopuse features, it had scales and octopuses suckshioncups, and had a small tiara with an octo on top. She looked very corky and silly but really friendly.
"I'm Penelopy, princess of Seahorses" the 2nd guppy says with the light orange tail and seahorse bandana on her head. Princess Penelopy had a sweet look in her eyes and bright smile that said she was kind of all. She is nurturing all those who are sad/bad mood, especially with her seahorses. She loved racing them in the seahorse races, it was her dream to become a great racer one day.
"I'm Jazmin, princess of dolphins" the 3rd says, smiling
Present Juliet's POV (for now)
Yes, I know what you're thinking and yes, that is Jazmin as the same Jazmin I know who is a super spy. Turns out she's half mermaid too like me. Now that I remember we met before but didn't remember until we reunited again when she came into the Red garden. And like her secret of being a spy, I kept her mermaid secret well hidden even from Benny and her kids. Nobody knows about her powers, expect me and my mum. She was sweet and beautiful little mermaid with a light peachy tail with orange side stripes and a orange/red seachell bra and her black hair was in a pony tail with a orange bandena. And like she said, she was the princess/protector of dolphins; she can speak to them like me.
"And I'm Carrie, princess of angelfishes" a guppy with long golden locks says. And like her title, Princess Carrie had an angelic glow around her, literally. Her friends have to wear shades just to not get blinded but Carrie knows how to control it, she mostly glows when she's in a good mood. Her tail was all white and had black stripe son the sides; she even had a small extra fin on her back like real angelfishes have.
"And I'm Farah, princess of star fishes" the last one said, Princess Farah had brown short hair with an orange starfish as a pin in her hair. She had a bra made out of starfishes too and her tail was a soft and scaly as a real starfish too. Despite being a kind guppy to all, there is a rumour spread about her, they say if she loses any part of her body like an arm or a scale or even a part of her tail, it grows back like real starfishes but it still hasn't been proven.
"Nice to meet you guys, I'm Juliet, princess of... nothing specific, I guess" Juliet chuckles, making the other laugh too.
"So, what's it like to be the protected of the queen?" Penelopy asks as they sit down on the bench with her.
"It's ok, I guess. Maybe it's because she and my mum are friends since they were guppies"
"And are you really half human?" Breeze asks, curious as the others.
"Yeah, I get my legs back whenever I get out of the water, thanks to the Star, of course" Juliet nods, waving her tail up
The girls gasp "You mean, you really have the Star of Hope?" Jazmin asks
"Yep, I never go anywhere without it, ever! I'm its guardian" Juliet says, pulling out the Star and they awe by it's glow.
"Wow, I can't believe you're its guardian and I'm the princess of starfishes but I'm not jealous" Farah teases, making them laugh.
"My godmother says it chose me to protect it and when I'm older, it's going to show me the power it has even I light up the 5 points" Juliet says, turning the star around where the bottom only had one point light up..
"At least you have one light up! You must be a very brave girl since the star only lightens up when its senses you're with it" Carrie says.
"I guess so. But I'm still learning how to control my powers with it. But like my mum says, Guppy steps" she smiles as the bonding between them continued.
Somebody's POV
I was swimming around the playground and playing a good game of fish ball with my friends. He kicked the ball with our tails until I failed in kicking the ball with my tail as the ball rolled away, down the small hill. I swam after it but before I could pick it up, I heard a sweet giggling voice. I look up and saw a group of mermaid girls who I'd know for a while. Since it was only them, nothing interesting was happening as I turn back to the game but before I did, I dropped the ball and gasped in awe! The girls were surrounding the most beautiful girl I've even seen. Isn't she the new girl Queen Cordelia brought this morning? I didn't see her earlier because I came to school a little late but it didn't matter now.
When my friends pointed her out to me, I feel in a deep trance when I saw her. WOW! The new girl is really pretty, no, she's beautiful! I need to meet her. So, I fixed my spiky sharky hair and back fin and swam up to her, pushing her friends aside to get to her without caring their complains and insults.
"Hey, new girl, I'm Triton, prince of sharks" he says, thanking her hand and kisses it.
"Uh... Juliet, human princess, I guess" Juliet says, slightly weird out by this guy.
DOUBLE WOW! She was even more beautiful up close, now I got to see her eyes and they were green like seaweed and her smile was bright as pearls. I could stair at her for hours, with or without her noticing. Whoever said love at first sight didn't exist, they were wrong and stupid! And more if they said it doesn't happen at a guppy young age!
"Uh... can I have my hand back?" Juliet asks, nervously.
Her soft voice broke me out of my trance "Oh yeah, anyways, I'd like to know if you like to get a coral cookie later at lunch time?" he asks, still being kinda creepy.
"Juliet, dear!" she hears Queen Cordelia calling her
"Coming! Sorry, my godmother's calling. Nice meeting you, Triton" Juliet takes her backpack with the Star and swims away with her new friends following behind her, leaving Triton by himself.
"Ok, see ya, angel fish" he waves back, smiling "in love".
"Wow, she's irresistibly beautiful" he says to himself, not noticing his 2 friends came up to him.
"I wouldn't get to excited, man?" one of them said by the name of Neptune, prince of Krakens and squids.
"What? Why? Have you seen her? She's gorgeous! I forbid you or the other to look at her because she's mine!" he threats, serious, showing his shark sharp teeth and bloody red eyes.
"Ok, 1. That whole shark thing doesn't work on unless you want something worst from me. and 2nd, you can't have her because she's the goddaughter of the Queen" Neptune says.
"So?" Triton shrugs, not caring.
Then his other friend, Alexander, prince of crabs steps in "SO! You know that your family & the Queen are not in peace and I don't she would like it if you were guppy buddies with her goddaughter" he says with Neptune nodding in agreement.
"I don't care. What Queen Cordelia has against my family is not of my concern. And I will have that girl because she's worth the risk" Triton huffs
"Plus, they say she's half human but has the most powerful magic in all the sea" Alex says
"What kind of magic of she's half human?" Triton asks, curious.
"I hear she's the protector of The Star Of Hope" Alex says
Triton gasps "The Star of Hope? She' s the guardian of the most powerful sea treasure in the universe?!"
"Yeah, so that's another reason why you can even look at her. Sorry, man but you're forbidden to like her" Alex says as he and Neptune pat Triton's back and shark fin and swim away from him.
"We'll see about that"
Triton smirks, evilly, showing his sharp shark teeth again and gazing with his creepy red eyes over to Juliet, who was talking o Quene Cordelia. He didn't care if she was royalty or half human, he wanted her and he swore on his own life, she will be his and no merman or human will steal her away from him. He will kill and even eat anybody who even goes near her. But not only he wanted her, he wanted what she possesses, he also wanted the Star of Hope, he wanted its power so he can make his family and kingdom unstoppable. And he will get it, along with its guardian.
On a secret part of the harbour, Mercutio was in his hide out inside a jungle near the cost. While his crew were relaxing & enjoying their evening after a long day of excitement and fixing things around the ship. Mercutio was in his office, he was depressed and filled with anger and hate after the events of today with Juliet and Gnomeo. UGH, how he hated seeing his girl with that guy that was once called his friend. His jealousy and anger were as clear as the water and the drink in his cup. Cleary he was trying to drink his sorrows away.
On his desk, he had maps and drawing of the kingdom f Oceania and even a rough sketch of Queen Cordelia but what's sure if it was her from the last time he saw her, when she was 15 years younger. Those unpleasant memories came back to him, when he attended the mermaid school for guppies. He was the bad boy and rebel guppy, after all, he was the prince of sharks and sharks were bad and literally cold blooded. He can feel it in his blood, boiling with anger. He crushed his glass in his hand, as blood came out and drip on his papers but he didn't care.
He then picks up another drawing of another mermaid. Mercutio takes it in his hand along with a photo. He walks over to a mirror on the wall and looks at his reflection. His eyes turned from normal brown to scary red. Still feeling all that anger inside him, he gritted his teeth; they then grew from normal to a scary shard, like shark teeth.
He looks down at the drawing and photo in his hands, it was the same person he's "in love" with. The photo was of Juliet and the drawing was also her but as a mermaid guppy, just as beautifuo as that day when he first saw her.
"You will be mine, Juliet. Because you like it or not, I swore on my life to have you by my side until I turn into sea foam or you, my beloved guppy"
And that he swore until he gets her & her priced possession, even if he has to get his teeth durty with blood.
SO? How was that? Again, I'm sorry for the long wait but again, my college schedule is keeping me away & I HATE IT SOO MUCH! I'll try to update again next week for my other story & Jelsa (u got that, Pen! JELSA 4EVER!)
Speaking of it, let me know what u guys think of your adorable mermaid princess selves. And trust me; u guys will be making appearances like this again. I wanted to do this since u guys have turned me into awesome things & I wanted to return the favor. I LUV U GUYS! XOXOXOXOO XD ;D
Well, I gotta go and get dressed & freeze people if they don't give me candy or $$$. I know where I'm from we accept candy & money if not; we destroy ur car & front yard, its harsh tradition. I'm SERIOUS!
