8. And The Nightmare Continues

Juliet´s POV

I don't know how long it's been but I feel and know I've been sleeping a long time. It almost feel like I'm dead but I'm not. There was this power inside that was preventing me from waking up because it wanted me to re-live the painful memories at that horrible place. The dream felt so real as if I was living it all over again. Or should I say the much much younger version of me, the boy-ish guppy of me.

(Flashback)

I was on the boat, letting all of my tears come down my face. Ms. Minerva was behind me, making sure I didn't try anything to escape. I wasn't even allowed to look back but I knew we were already halfway there. I was willing to jump off the boat and swim back to shore but that would be exposing my secret. I was trapped but I knew I was gonna get out of this but for now I didn't have the strength and all I could was cry.

"Stop crying. You're going to learn to have responsibilities, to have decency, to have obligations. Your entire life is now going to change, to be responsible and to follow the rules" Ms. Minerva says, serious like a dictator.

Juliet continues to cry but manages to speak "Why do this to me, Ms. Minerva? Why? I never did anything to you. Why don't you like me? Why did you separate me from my Dad?"

Minerva stays silent to not feel sorry for her "Enough! Just sit there and keep quiet until we get there" she huffs and Juliet softly sobs.

For the rest of the boat ride, they didn't speak to each other again until they finally arrived to the small port of the castle. Juliet tried to run away again but Ms. Minerva snatched her back and pulled her all the way to the entrance. The inside was just as Juliet pictured in her nightmare. It was a disgusting and scary looking place. Like if was Dracula or Frankenstein's castle. The walls very dark green and brown and the doors were black with chipped edges and dirty windows, there were even bugs and spider webs on the walls. All was missing was bats hanging from the ceiling, maybe there was in the attic. The floors are muddy and filthy as mice and even rats roam around from one hallway to the other. There was even an upstairs; she feared what might be up there. And she also wonders where are the other kids cause the place looks empty.

"Juliet! What are you doing standing there! Follow me, let's go! Get in there and stop crying!" Minerva pushes her into a dark room which frighten even more.

"Director Carlota?" Minerva speaks.

"Wow, about time you came back, Minerva" an aggressive voice says.

Juliet looks forward and sees an older woman, much more than Minerva. She wore a gray uniformed and her hair in a tight bun that stretches her face up, she was pretty scary. She was writing on her desk without looking up, completely ignoring her assistant. Director Carlota was known for her reputation as a past dictator or mostly known as the "The Child Jailor" for looking up children for no reason to just save her business. It was obvious she doesn't like children, she hates them in fact but she did like making money$ out of them. And others say that behind this business by how she runs her orphanage is a complete mystery. She is a cruel abusive yet mysterious woman.

Then Minerva spoke again "But I didn't come back empty handed". Minerva pushes a frighten Juliet forward to the woman's desk.

"Well, well, what do we have here? You finally completed your demand. You bright me back another orphan" Carlota asks, eyeing the scared child.

"That's right, Director. But this isn't just any orphan. This is Juliet Redbrick" Minerva presented.

Carlota eyes widen "Juliet?! JULIET!"

The girl back away from the woman in fear.

"You have no idea how hard it was to find you?! We've searched every port, every beach, every place possible. You're very famous in this institute, you know. You hold the record of being the child that's escaped Minerva for almost the last 2 years. It's a real pleasure to have you here at San Felipe. Minerva, this calls for a celebration! But before you put that stupid grin of perky and cheerfulness, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW!" Carlota demand while snapping a whip on her desk.

"Yes, Director" Minerva nods

"Well, on to business, my dear child. Dry up those crocodile tears because here in San Felipe, they'll be for nothing. In this place you will learn the real meaning of DISCIPLINE, HARD WORK, ORDER, and CLEANESS AND TO BE PUNCTUAL! But mostly, RESPONSIBLE! So, stop crying, spoiled child! Minerva, take her to get her clean up and dressed for her... new life" Carlota evilly chuckles, enjoying the girl's suffering.

Following her orders, Minerva takes Juliet out her office and leads her to the bathroom; she makes Juliet take off her boy-ish clothes and put on a swimsuit and cleans her up. The water was ice cold and Minerva wouldn't let her shower herself because she kept scrubbing the girl's skin with force which hurted her.

"OW! STOP!" Juliet cries in pain.

"HOLD STILL!" Minerva shouts as she kept scrubbing Juliet's back on one specific part of her back

"IT HURTS A LOT!"

"TEHN HOLD STILL Because I need to get this spot off! It's obvious you haven't had a decent bath in a long time"

"IT'S NOT A SPOT! It's a birthmark! I've had it since I was a baby" Juliet raises her voice at her.

"Oh yeah? Well, I don't believe you! You're a filthy spoiled brat! Now, hold still to get that out!" Minerva tries again and even harder.

After the long bath, Minerva makes Juliet put on some dull and gray uniform and black shoes and tied her brown hair in a tight ponytail. It was really uncomfortable! Minerva took Juliet back to Carlota's office who was pleased with the girl's new transformation. At this point, Juliet wasn't sad or scared anymore, she was angry and was now ready for anything these witches throw at her.

"I see that you can at least do one thing right, Minerva. But I expect more from now on" Carlota orders.

"As you wish, Director Carlota" Minerva nods as she inspects Juliet's backpack.

"And the child's belongings?"

"This is everything she brought. Her backpack only has childish things and this telescope, plus, the disgusting clothes she came in with"

"You know what to do with those. THROW IT TO TEH TRASH!"

"NO, PLEASE! THEY'RE MY THINGS! I NEED THEM!" Juliet cries as she tries to take them away from Minerva.

"JULIET, SILENCE! You don't need anything. Only discipline and ORDER!" Carlota cracks her whip.

"NO, please! I beg you, Ms. Minerva, Director Carlota! It's my backpack! It was a gift from my mum and the telescope is from my brother who I lost not long ago. It's all I have of them. PLEASE!" Juliet tries to snatch them away again.

"LET GO! IT'S AN ORDER!" she screams "Listen here, spoiled girl. You better shut that mouth hole if you don't wanna start off your first day in San Felipe WITH A PUNISHMENT!"

"I don't care if you punish me! But you're not throwing MY things to the trash! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT! THEY'RE MINE & I'm KEEPING THEM!" Juliet yelled, bravely and angrily. Minerva was shock by the girl's attitude toward Carlota.

Even she was surprised "Well, this isn't possible. NO BRAT TELLS ME WHAT TO DO. Come here, you little beast. I'm going to show you to respect adults!" Carlota grabs Juliet's arm by force but Juliet thinks fast and bit the woman's arm.

"JULIET!" Minerva was shocked. But Juliet only stops to take back her things and runs out the door. "JULIET, COME BACK!"

"AFTER HER, MINERVA!" Carlota orders as she treats her bitten wound.

Juliet ran around the castle, trying o figure a way out or at least the way she came in. The hallways were like a maze with only the light of the moon and stars coming from the windows, lighting the way. At least she had her little dolphin light keychain to light her way. She heard heavy feet coming toward her, she needed to act fast. She saw down the hall a large wooden trunk and placed her things inside it to hide them until she thought of something to escape with them. She then ran the other direction so they won't find her things. She ran door to door but they were all locked, this place was literally a jail but she's not going to give up yet. But unfortunately, Juliet took and wrong turn and fell into the clutches of Minerva.

"Thought you can escape?! Then no because you're not going anywhere!" Minerva takes Juliet back to the office as she kept struggling to break free.

Carlota grins as they enter "Finally! I thought you had her under control, Ms. Minerva!"

"I did but she's a feisty child, Director Carlota. You know that I've had difficulties getting her here because she..."

"I DON'T CARE! What I do understand is that you are useless! HOW CAN A SPOILED BRAT CAN ESCPAE YOU SO MNAY TIMES! AND EVEN IN SAN FELIPE!?"

"I swear, Director Carlota, that I..."

"DON'T SWEAR ANYTHING TO ME! Juliet needs to be punish for what she did and you, Juliet, this is just your first day but YOU JUST BROKE MY LAST NERVE! You wanted to defy me? Well, now, you're going to see how terrifying I can be! MINERVA, TAKE HER TO THE TOWER OF PUNISHMENTS!"

"ME!?" Minerva gasps in pure horror

"YES, YOU! You're the one responsible for this misbehaving and you'll be the one to take her there!"

"NO, Director Carlota, don't lock me up! My Daddy needs me! He's really sick!" Juliet begged, feeling scared again.

"And he's going to die for all I care! You'll never see him again!"

"TAKE HER AWAY!"

"NO! I WANNA SEE MY DADDY!"

"And as for your things, I'm going to tear this place apart until I find them and when I do, I'm gonna make sure you never see the light of day EVER AGAIN! TAKE HER AWAY, MINERVA!"

"STOP CRYING, REDBRICK!"

The entire way up to the tower was all yelling from Minerva and crying from Juliet. They soon make it to the tallest towers where there was only one small room that looked like a dungeon. Minerva opens the door with a key and unlock the big heavy lock and pushes the crying girl inside it.

"NOW, YOU'RE GOING TO STAY IN HERE UNTIL YOU LEANR TO OBEY! UNDERSTOOD?!" she snaps as Juliet looks at her with fear.

Soon Minerva's glare then changed to a worried face when she felt a cold breezy hit her. It was a strange feeling she always felt when she was up in the tower. This has happened before and it gave her chills, the scared freighting kinds. She didn't think it twice to ran out the room and closed the door, locking Juliet inside. As she sobbed quietly against the wall, Juliet then hears a voice.

"Girl... Hi, little girl..."

Juliet looks around her to find where that voice was coming from and it scared her "Ms. Minerva, let me out, please!" she bangs on the door but she was alone.

"Come here, girl..." the ghostly voice says again.

"Please, Ms. Minerva! GO AWAY! PLEASE, DON'T HURT ME!" She yells to the voice until she didn't hear it anymore.

She was so heartbroken and worried for her father that she slides herself against the wall and started sobbing again. He's been really sick lately and now that she was here, he was going to get worst.

"Please, Daddy. Don't die, please, or I'll truly be alone, please, don't leave me" she prayed and she closes her eyes and started crying.

"Please, mum, I need you, I need your help. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!" She looked up at the darkness around her as she started singing.

She finishes the song and she buries her head in her knees again, crying. Expressing that she's all alone and she needs to be with her family and her real friends that truly care about her and not to be locked up in the dark. But then she hears that voice again.

"Please, help me! Help, girl!"

Juliet looked around her, terrified. She gets up on her feet and searches the source of the voice. Then she sees how the ceiling was glowing bright. She hasn't noticed that before. Son her fear turned into curiosity, wanting to know what that was as it glowed brighter. Juliet put some boxes on top another to make some steps. They were too sturdy but were able to climb on to get to the top.

Juliet climbs up the steps to the top of the ceiling where there was a small door. It was a bit dusty and a little hard to open but she got it to open. But that was a big mistake.

"Hi, girl" the ghost voice says.

Juliet looks in front of her and she goes pale "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" She lets out a high pitch scream.

(Ends Flashback)

"NOOOO! GET AWAY!" Juliet screams as she wakes up, sitting up on her bed.

She gasps heavily, looking around her. She was in her greenhouse, her room exactly. That dream felt so real as if she was almost in it for reals but as her younger self. Those painful memories always haunted her, especially the disgusting and abusing face of Director Carlota.

"It's a dream! It's a dream! It's all a dream! OH GOD!" She sobs into her hands, letting out her tears.

"Juliet? Juliet, love? You're finally awake? What's the matter?" Her husband come sin, kneeling down to her and holding her hands.

Juliet dries up her tears to not worry him "Nothing, just a bad dream"

"Was it him again?"

"No. It was something else. Something part of my past"

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"I don't know... It's something that I've tried to forget from my past"

"It's ok, if you don't want to, I understand"

"I just wanna check on Mimi. I'll be right back"

"Sure. She's in her room. I'll be outside if you need me"

"Thanks. You're always looking out for me" she hugs him

"And I'll always will. You and Mimi are the most important things in my life and I can never let anything hurt you"

"It's my fault you're in danger. I'm the one who's got you in this mess"

"No, don't blame yourself because none of this is your fault"

"Yes, it is. My past is coming back to haunt me and it wants to take what I love dear to my heart, including you" she stroke his face.

"Your past means nothing to me. All I care is our present and future together"

"Gnomeo, my powers are starting to show and soon enough they'll be out of control that not even me or my Mum or the Star or the Queen, not even you can do about it"

"Juliet, since the day I married you, I vow to love all of you like you love all of me. And that includes your powers and fins"

"You know, I confess something to you"

"What?"

"When we were dating. I had a few thoughts and not just because we were in feud back then. I was thinking about your safety around me since you didn't know about my other side. But my love for you was stronger than my powers"

"I'm glad you didn't went back on that"

"Me too. Even if it was risky and dangerous"

"Well, you are pretty dangerous and I love taking that risk" he flirts, giving her a kiss.

"You never miss the opportunity to flirt with me, don´t you?" she lightly punches his chest.

"Is that wrong? Does it bother you? I don't hear you complaining" he leans closer.

"I'm not. And you know what we should do today?"

"I'm got a pretty good idea of what it can be" he gets a dirty idea.

"We should go to the cave and have some fun with our daughter" she says, disappointing him a little.

"The cave? Are you sure? You want to be there? You know Mercutio could come back"

"Don't worry, pirates like him don't know where our caves are. It's protected by a stronger shield which only mermaid can break and see"

"No wonder I can't find you when we play "Hide In Seek, because you cheat!"

"HEY! I don't cheat! I just use magical strategies!" she sasses.

He rolls his eyes "Whatever! You know what I do to cheaters, do you?"

"Give them chocolate?"

"No. I punish them! Hard"

"Ooooh, I'm sooo scared.. NOT!"

"OK, that's it! GET BACK HERE, RED!" Gnomeo chases after and traps her in his embrace and kisses her neck, making her giggle.

She then turns to face him as he held her close "You know I can't promise you that this is over cause it's not, it's only the beginning. But what I can promise is that this will all be over than you know it" she said softly yet serious, giving him a kiss.

"Really? And when will that happen?"

"Soon"

"Soon?" he raise a brow at her but smiled

"Yep, I'm going to find a way that's going to free us from this mess" she said, serious.

"Well, promises are to fulfilled, Gnomeo Blueberry. And you know what else? Soon is soon and I never go back on my promises. Have I ever lied to you?"

"Can't say right now but I trust you more than anybody. And all I want to do is protect you & Mimi. Keep you both form all of that danger"

"It's a danger that came because of me"

"Don't blame yourself. Neither of us asked for this. But we will get thru this together like we did back then and always will"

"We're dealing with powerful and dangerous tidal waves here, Gnomeo. Things you don't know and I don't even understand yet"

"I don't care if we're battling Satan himself. I will by your side no matter what"

"You're a real Prince Charming, Blue"

"Is that a bad thing?"

"Yes & No but mostly no"

"Plus, it would give me that chance to do what I've always wanted to do since I saw Mercky again"

"And what's that?"

"Punch him so many times until my hands literally fall off" he teases but really means it.

She laughs "You would injure somebody for me? You're the best ever!"

He touches her cheek "I love seeing you smile. It was the 2nd most beautiful thing I noticed about you, other than your esmerald eyes. And that's how it's gonna be, we will be together. It just doesn't make sense that we have to put it on hold until we find a way out of this. And not just that, so we can get you all better again"

"Whoa! Calm down, love. It's not like I'm sick or anything" she says, nervously, trying to look away from him for a second. (A/N: Wink, wink ;)

"I know but still. I watch out for you"

"I just hope I don't get out of control. All these new side effects and powers are happening so fast and since I know which I will be getting, I fear they'll get worst and worst until I can't stop myself. And when that day happens, I don't want you to come after me and I don't want to hurt you or Mimi or my family or your family..."

"Jules, when that day happens, I'll know that's not really you because I know you better than that"

"I know you do but I fear of what I could turn into"

"So you're going thru some phases. So what? All girls have that. My cousins from London had the same problem but..."

"I'm not normal, Gnomeo. I AM A FREAK. I'm half fish. I have powers beyond you can imagine, even for humans. You can't imagine what I'm capable of doing. It's best you stay away from me before I get worst"

"Ok, 1. You are not a freak, you're freakishly gorgeous, and that's for sure. But besides jokes, 2. You can ask me to do many many many things in my life expect to stay away from you Because when I married you, I married all of you, including your powers and your secrets"

"I just don't want to hurt you. I would never forget myself. I would even hook myself if it happens"

"Didn't you just hear me? ' .JULES. I married you for better and for worst, no matter what"

"I know you mean that but you're just saying it now that I'm all calm. But just wait until I get worst. I'll become a monster"

"Ok, bite your tongue and swallow it and never say that again. You are many things but never a monster. You are the best person, the best mother, the best friend, the best mermaid, the best racer but mostly the best wife in the world"

"It's so hard to be negative when you came at me with those gorgeous blue eyes at me"

"Just promise me something, Juliet"

"Anything"

"Promise me that nothing will break us apart. No matter how long it takes. No matter how much Mercutio pushes. No matter how hard he tries to separate us. Nothing and I mean, Nothing is going to tear us apart. Because you and I are one. And even he uses some dark magic against us or he sends you flowers and chocolates to seduce you. Nothing's going to change, right?"

"Well, I might keep the chocolates because you know I have a sweet tooth"

"Don't you dare eat them or I'll be really mad at you. I'll go buy you some right now if you want but don't eat those cheap trash ones"

"Fine. And to answer your questions, I promise. I promise to not let myself fall for any of his traps and to always be by your side always and forever. But I only ask one thing in return"

"What?"

"To let me punch him first before you do"

"Oh! You are a sneaky mischievous little witch. I love you" he flirts, smirking.

My eyes widen "What?" I was a bit surprised by what he said.

"I said I love you" he smiles

"I know but tell me a million times"

"I love you" he says again with a kiss

"Nope, you're 999, 999 short" I teased

"But aren't you going to tell me...?" he says but I then cut him off

"I love you (Long Kiss)" I said

"How do you feel about this?" he asks

"A bit better? You still up for that date at the beach tomorrow?"

"You know I am but why do we have to bring Mimi. I want this to be just you and me" he whines a little.

"Gnomeo, Mimi has been doing well in school and she deserves to have more fun than usual"

"I guess but still, you owe me a night out" he picks her up, making her shriek.

"How about a night in instead?" she flirts back

"Deal" he kisses her as he sets her back down "But before we go. I need to go to the lawnmower store and pick up some parts for the mower"

"You and your mower. Sometimes I even wonder if you love it more than me"

"It's not like that, my love? Are you jealous?"

"Me? Jealous? Of your mower?! Pfft! Please! I'm just saying that you spend more on it than being with me" she twirls the end of her hair, looking away from him.

"No need to be jealous of a machine, love? I'll make it up to you tonight and tomorrow, ok? I'll be back in 20 minutes" he kisses her cheek and heads out, leaving a big smile on his wife.

Gnomeo's POV

After I got all the stuff I need, I came out the store but I couldn't stop thinking about what me and Juliet talked about earlier. That pyso is still out there and hunting us down like a pack of wolves but I have to stay alert to protect her and my family for whatever he attacks us with. Everything seem quiet and normal but when things are too cal like this, it means something bad could happen at any corner you turn. So I just stayed cool and continue my walk from the entrance of the store. I've had many difficult times in my life but nothing is more important than my family, especially my daughter and my wife. However I feel more vulnerable and worried than ever, for their safety. I can't put their lives in danger. But I know that I will be there for them forever, to protect them, even though Juliet knows how to look out for herself. And it's cute that she wants to look out for me and Mimi but I'm still concern for her safety.

As I was still lost in my thought, I then suddenly felt a gun on his neck. I stay still, wondering who was pointing at me as he shushes me to stay still and quiet.

"If I were you, I would stay frozen, Bluey" that voice. It can't be!

& Again, I'm sorry for taking a long time but you know how it is, school work sucks the life out of you until u literally drop dead. But since now I'm on break, I'm gonna work more on my stories, especially my new ones which I'm dying to show u guys but haven't had a chance to work on them but now I do, they'll be up sooner than u guys think, I promise. Have I ever let u down? (Don't answer that) & I know this chapter wasn't that excited but I assure u the next chapter will be to die/cheer/kill/scream/cry for. (& probably hurt me even more. I'll shut up now) :/
