"Will you go on a date with me?" Shikamaru asked.
Temari inhaled sharply.
"I need some time," she said.
One week ago, she had left him with only those words. Now, Shikamaru stood in a training field waiting for her answer.
"We can't be friends anymore," Temari told him.
Shikamaru's heart dropped, but his voice remained steady.
"We've been friends for years," he reminded her.
"Maybe you misunderstood," Temari smirked. "We can't be friends anymore."
She grabbed the confused man by his collar and pulled him in for a kiss.
"We are going to be so much more," Temari promised.
