109. Heart to Heart

She'd told Tom too much, but they were things she couldn't tell
to any other. She wished she had, afterwards, but he'd been so willing
to hear her young woes, the feelings that grew within her chest
and spiralled onto the pages with her words –

If only she could have spoken directly to him, to Harry, they could have
avoided it all, but she couldn't, and Tom had been so happy to hear her,
to comfort the tears that fell onto that writing, those pages

Even though she'd been a fool to trust the writing in a book,
she could talk heart to heart, even if the receiving heart was wrong;
it was like talking to herself at first, and that's all she'd ever wanted it to be
until she could say it to Harry directly, but Tom had caught her
and it had become Ginny to Tom, instead of Ginny to her heart.

The fact that she loved Harry never changed, not once.
