A/N: I'm back from the dead...or at least my laziness.

Well this is just a short chapter to remind y'all that I am definitely not dead and that I will continue for I am not done with Rissy yet...

DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN FAIRY TAIL

Dogs can't look up:

The salmon haired woman never liked funerals, of course the last one she had been to had been for fish and emotions didn't run as high as they did then.

Rissy was sat in a large tree overlooking the forest, everything was so peaceful up in the trees and always seemed to make sense.

She gave a small sigh once her onyx eyes landed on the familiar spot where the group had buried Esther. A large amount of flowers decorated the earth where her body lay. Esther always loved flowers.

A small weight landed on her lap and glancing down she noticed the small lilac coloured exceed.

She gently placed a hand on the back of her exceeds shirt stroking her silently as she continued to stare at the horizon.

"Rogue and Sting-kun were looking for you" Lavender said after a short silence.

Rissy nodded, she felt bad for ignoring everyone.

Her brother had offered her his support and of course Rogue and Frosch had stood by her side but at this moment she had felt so...empty.

"Emmanuel's gone too" the exceed said quietly.

Rissy nodded once more for if there was anyone that understood her pain it was him, though it didn't help that he was in some unknown location alone and with conflicted emotions.

"I still can't believe it" Rissy said sadly as she leaned her head against the trees trunk. It had finally sunk in and she had finally registered that Esther was gone and she was never coming back

Lucy released a small grunt as she climbed up the tree, she really couldn't understand how Rissy could climb so high without the fear of falling for the blonde was terrified.

Her brown orbs widened once she spotted the tanned legs that belonged to her friend gangly over the edge of one of the higher branches and with a groan Lucy reached up towards her.

With a loud exhale of relief she plopped herself down next to the salmon haired woman, she gently threaded her hand through her bangs before turning to face the Rissy, with the now sleeping Lavender curled into a ball on her lap.

She looked so lost especially without her trademark grin.

"The flowers, were they her favourites?" Lucy asked after a short silence.

Rissy nodded before raising her head slightly. "Yeah...She never had a particular favourite so we just got all the ones she liked" Rissy explained with a small smile.

Lucy nodded in understanding, when her mother had died at first all she had thought about was the fact that she was dead...that she had left her alone. But it wasn't until she remembered the good times with her mother that she realised that her mother never truly left her for she would always remember those good times and would always remember her mother.

"You should always remember the good times..." Lucy started with a small smile.

Rissy turned to face her with a frown.

"How would that help?" She asked sadly.

Lucy smiled once more at her friend.

"Once you remember the good times you realise that Esther will always be with you" she starred before placing her own hand over her heart. "In here" she said as Rissy stared at her in confusion.

"Your heart...why would Esther be there?" She asked causing Lucy to stifle her own laughter, for sometimes her friend could be a little dense. Must have been a Dragneel thing.

"Not mine...yours, Esther will always be in your heart" Lucy explained with a small smile.

Rissy nodded in understanding before giving her own smile.

"I guess...that makes sense, Esther was always close to me and even now..." Her voice trailed off once her vision landed on the flowers once more.

Lucy nodded before placing a hand on Rissy's shoulder.

"And you always will be" Lucy pointed out causing Rissy to smile.

"You know, Lucy you're pretty smart" Rissy said with a grin.

Lucy blushed slightly at the comment before turning back to her friend.

"You always know smart stuff, like not to eat perfume or that dogs can't look up" Rissy said as she continued to stare at the horizon.

Lucy smiled at the comment, laughing inwardly at the time Rissy had tried to spray one of her perfumes in her mouth only to learn the hard way that just because it smelled nice it didn't mean the same for the taste.

"And you also know how to be a pretty good friend" Rissy confirmed with a nod and her own smile.

Lucy returned her friends smile for she had a small feeling that Rissy was alright and that things were going to go back to normal...or at least as normal as they could get.

Climbing down from the tree served as an easy task for the salmon haired woman however when it came to her blonde friend she ended up having to use her magic to get her down.

After not so gracefully using her magic to release Lucy from the branches the blonde let out a small squeal as she was dropped to the forest floor.

"Well, I guess that I'm never doing that again" Lucy muttered as she dusted the leaves from her clothes.

She suddenly looked up to find that Rissy was already racing off deeper into the forest with Lavender in tow.

Lucy quickly headed off after the pair but it was clear that she wasn't going to catch up the salmon haired woman any time soon.

"Rissy where are you going?!" Lucy exclaimed as she ran after her friend.

Rissy stopped for a second to turn and face her friend.

"I need to find Rogue and Sting-kun before they leave!" She shouted back before racing off once more.

Lucy exhaled loudly before racing after her friend once more.

"Well you could at least wait for me!" She shouted after the dragon slayer.

Rissy quickly spotted the dragon slayer duo at the edge of the forest wasting no time in making her presence known to them by knocking the pair over and onto their stomachs.

"Oh sorry..." She muttered as she quickly stood and offered the pair her hands to help them up.

Sting offered her his usual cocky smirk before gladly accepting her hand and helping himself up.

"It's fine, Rissy-Chan, any time I'm knocked over by Rogue's girl is fine by me" he declared which earned himself a glare from the quieter of the duo.

Rissy grinned at him before turning to Rogue and Rogue was sure he saw a faint blush against her cheeks.

"Thanks for helping me out earlier, I really appreciate it" She said allowing her messy bangs to cover her dark eyes.

Rogue let a small smile ghost his lips before brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

"Any time..." He answered which caused Rissy to grin once more.

She turned to see Sting conversing with the exceeds and it seemed that they were having a heated argument. Watching the scene she smiled once more only it hit her that the pair had to leave.

"When you guys leave will I see you again?" She asked.

Rogue stiffened slightly he wanted to see her and it was definitely no secret how he felt about her so he was sure that he would see her again.

"Of course" He said a smile making its way across his face once more.

Rissy grinned before embracing the dragon slayer in a hug which he wasn't expecting but happily accepted.

And that's when Rogue knew that everything was going to be alright.

So what did you think of that?

Dogs can't actually look up, learned that from Simon Pegg in Shaun of the Dead.

Like I said before, short chapter but I will make it up in the next one where the team returns to Magnolia.
