"Th...This is, This is..! Setsuno-sama!" Hotel Gourmet general Manager named Smith shout out in exclaimed as he witness the famous chef walk through the Hotel Gourmet. First it was Heavenly Kings and now the famous Chef has come to see his Hotel Gourmet, he can't believe his luck. "W...welcome, please come this way!" He stammered then shout out toward the waiter that he can catch with his eye, "Hey! Please provider her with service right away!"
"It's fine~ It's fine~ I'll be going back home soon~" The elder chef giggled, follow Komatsu, "This is a pretty nice hotel, Komatsu-kun."
Komatsu blinked out of his thought and smile, "Th...thank you very much! U...Um..Setsuno-san! I...If...you would like, um...how about a meal in our restaurant...?" Komatsu looks nervously then chuckle awkward about this, Geez, he wish Kai was here to help him not look a idiot in front of his idol, "I...I may be assuming too much, but...just a little, I'd like to thank.."
"Uffufufufu, If it's gratitude, than rather than this restaurant's full course, I'd like to try the 'Century Soup'." Setsuno smiles toward the small chef who look startled by this.
"Y...Yes! Right away!" He shout, feel all fired up and shout out, "UOOOH! I'M GONNA DO IT!"
"AH! Chef Komatsu! Just where have you been up until now!? And where is Miss Kai!" Smith hollered after him then yelp out in startled by the Wall Penguin tottering after the small chef, cried in disbelief, "WAAAH, what's this penguin!?"
'Ufufufu...I'll be looking forward to it..' Setsuno thinking to herself deeply, 'But just...how many years will it take to complete..?'
"Oiiiii! Matsu-chan! I don't know what you and Toriko are up to, but why this many ingredients that you ask me to get for ya." The heroine hollered as she enter the kitchen in the back of the Hotel Gourmet, carried large bag with many ingredients to set down on the counter.
"Ah! Kai-chan! Thank you so much! I got the rest already!" The small chef smiles brightly as if he was getting ready to cook.
"No problem...What's going on?" Kai asked as she listen to Komatsu's explain about what's happen since she left to help Sunny with some ingredients before hit the Spa with him, she was eyeing the Wall Penguin in surprise to see one that small just already bond with Komatsu, even thought the chef didn't know about it yet.
"And now...here I am, going to making the Century Soup that would be complete." Komatsu finish explain about what happen at Ice Hell to his childhood friend.
"Wao...No wonder Toriko missing a arm right now." Kai muttered, frown slightly as she glance over to Komatsu for a moments, feel bit proud of her small chef friend and bit surprise that he already figure out that the Century soup have not been complete yet after many year since Setsuno has made it. 'Matsu-chan must have been evolved without us knowing that since we have met Toriko...I wonder how far can he achieve his dream...'
She smiles softly, bit envious of Komatsu to chase after his dream when she have no dream to chase after just yet...probably won't never gain a dream that she would like to chase after what has happen to her.
"Yuuun..."
Kai blinked out of her thought to glance down at the pink penguin who look concern for his new friend who seem to be more focus on the Century Soup. She glance at the clock and blink in surprise. Its been that long.
"Whoa, I must be out of it if I'm thinking too hard about dream...I guess I'll cook dinner for us at home. " The red haired female sighed, get up and pick up the Wall Penguin to enter into the Kitchen with her leg kick it wide open, hear Komatsu's yelp in startle. "OI! Time to close the kitchen! You've been in there for five hours!"
"Ah!? Really?!" Stupefied by what Kai has pointed out, Komatsu glanced at the clock to see that she was right, "Ah...It's already this late...Maybe I should continue at home...?" He frown slightly, don't want to stop as he clutched his fist. "...No matter what...I'll definitely reproduce it. The Century soup...Kai-chan, you will help me?" He look at Kai with serious expression.
"Of course, I'll hunt those ingredient to save some money, just write down the list that you need and I'll get it!" Kai grinned as the Wall Penguin cooed out its vocal also. "By the way, what are we going to named that little fellow?"
"Yun?" The Baby Wall Penguin blinked, uncertain.
"Um...well...I'm not sure...why do you ask Kai-chan?" Komatsu blinked as he start to clean off the Kitchen mess he made.
"Well, he's going to live with us for now on since this little fellow has chosen you as it bond." Kai explain cause the chef to paused in his clean to look puzzled by what his friend going with this. She groaned and start to explain.
"Its like Toriko and Terry. They bond with each other and become partner. This Wall Penguin has chosen you as it bond meaning you already got a partner animal."
"Oh!..REALLY? I just assumed he want to follow me even since I've saved it from those bad people. And his parents died tried to save him" He scratched back of his head in surprise by this, stare down at the Wall Penguin chirps. "Well..I guess..Yun would do..since he keep saying Yun..."
"Yun~" The newly christened Wall Penguin Yun cooed happily.
"See." He chuckled, finished clean the area and start to grab his stuff to cook at home.
"I guess Yun would do." Kai smiled softly, "How about I cook dinner while you focus on the Soup alright. How about simple Grilled Cheese Sardine sounds?"
"Sure! Thanks again Kai-chan."
"Hey Matsu-chan! I have finally got you a Spine Eel!" The red haired heroine burst into the kitchen carry a giant Eel-fish cause Komatsu to grin,
"Finally! We was able to get one, somehow!" The chef took the fish to muttered to himself cause Kai to smiles then walk away to help the other chef to run the Hotel Gourmet themselves to lets their Head Chef working on the Century soup.
"He's been making something even since he got back...Kai-chan, what's this about?" One chef asking their part-time chef heroine of this kitchen who smiles, finish clean the last dishes to be washed as she took off the apron.
"Well, He got some amazing cooking challenge to do." She eyes Komatsu who looks discouraged by the new soup he made that is not Century soup yet.
"Um..Chef Komatsu, if there's anything we can do to help...?" a Chef asked kindly cause Komatsu to blinked, "Ah...Yes, Thank you. But I'm fine. Kai-chan is helping me out beside...This cooking is something I just need to complete alone, no matter what.."
"Eh~ then how do Miss Kai-chan helping you out?"
"I was gathering all the ingredient for him to save a lots of money..." Kai pointed out.
"OHHHHHH~" Many chefs understood right away and shrugged, wish Komatsu good luck with this challenge.
Many times, Komatsu tried every ingredient to make the Century Soup and failed cause him to become more distressed every time he tried cause him to flop downward on the floor to sigh outloud. "Haaaaaah...it's no good...I can't do it at all..." He frowned then think about his Giant friend, 'Toriko-san...I wonder if your wound is healed yet..'
"HURRY! MORE FOOD SUPPLIES!" Barked the doctor named Yosaku who treated Toriko to get the arm regrown back but something is seriously went wrong cause him to frantic along with Teppei and Sani who rush out to get more food for Toriko who seem...weakling and seem more sickly thanks to the strange medicine that suppose to regrow the arm that suck out the nutrition.
"More...more...food..." Toriko weakly moaning out.
"TORIKO, YOU BASTARD, I'LL REMEMBER THIS! YOU OWN ME!" Sunny shout.
"OKAY!" Komatsu slapped himself in the face, "I'm gonna do it, too!"
"Yun!"
Komatsu blinked and turn around to see his familiar waddle toward him, "Ah, it's you...right..Kai-chan left to help Coco-san with something at Violet Town..." he remember why Kai is not there to watch Yun.
"AHHH! COCO-SAMA!"
"MARRY ME COCO-SAMA~!"
"FOR GRAVY'S SAKE! GO AWAY YOU DAMN FANGIRLS!" The red-haired Heroine shout, carried a flustered Coco who seem to failed at shooing his fangirls away thus Kai have to stepped in to kidnapped the Gentleman King away cause the angry or excited fangirl to chased after them.
"P-Please~ Go away!" Coco weakly said yet bit embarrassing about being carried by his friend.
"The soup was born in the same place you were born. So I'm definitely gonna finish it, Okay?" Komatsu looks determinate while pick Yun up.
"Yun!" The Pink Wall Penguin drooled at the thought of taste that soup once more.
"Aha!" He laughed, "What's with you!? I think you're drooling! You want to eat some soon, too, eh~?" He grinned, feel bit better after talking to his familiar. Once again, he start to try again by stir the soup and taste it cause him to hummed in delight.
"Yes. It's gotten a lot better!" He smiled then ponder some more, 'But it's still way below even the Century soup I was given at set Setsuno-san's shop...Setsuno-san's Century soup..It was that close to being perfect...I ate the real one so I know very well...' He was in awe by how close Setsuno's soup compare to the real one.
Slowly one year went by, Kai keep helping Komatsu by gathering all the ingredient that Komatsu asked for, even improvement her fighting skills as Bishokuya if she have a desire to become one and keep up with the Part-time Chef to take over Komatsu's position so Komatsu can focus on the soup and take care of Yun who seem to like her a lot and sometime concern for its partner. They've not heard any word from Toriko nor Sani but Kai keep in contact with Coco through the phone or sometime ask Coco for help with getting a ingredient for Komatsu.
Slowly as Kai walking back from the part time chef to heading home as she open the door to lets the house know she's home but the silence answered back to her cause her to frown slightly. She slowly walking down the hallway to blink at Komatsu's strange face that seem to be creep her out.
"W-what's with the face!" She shout, point at her childhood's face.
"Ah~ Kai-channnn~" The small Chef smiled wider cause her to freak out even more as he rush with the bowl of the soup to tackle Kai down cause her to scream but choke on the soup that pour down in her mouth that Komatsu tip the bowl to lets Kai understood.
"...MMMMM~ SO GOOOODDD! WAIT! YOU DID IT!" Kai grinned wide open for a moments then shook herself out of it to smile wide in normal way.
"It was Yun! Yun was the missing ingredient!" Komatsu exclaimed, waving his arms up and down as he glance down at Yun who blinked, "...The wall Penguin..at Ice Hell for countless centuries...Maybe they grew with the Century soup as nourishment..so part of the soup's taste got permeated into their bodies...I can't believe that part of the Soup came out as Saliva..."
"Wait..The missing ingredient is the Wall Penguin's Saliva?" Kai start to make a face, bit surprise by that.
"Yun~"
"Anyhow..." Komatsu start to hug his Penguin, "Thank you, for choosing me."
"Yun!"
The Big news that Chef Komatsu of Hotel Gourmet completed the century soup spread thought the world in the blink of an eye.
"Chef!"
"Chef Komatsu!"
Many Reporter surround Komatsu to take a picture and get a report out from the small yet nervous Chef.
"It has been reported that you completed the legendary 'Phantom soup", But-"
"When is it going to be put on your restaurant's menu?!"
"Have you applied for a Patent!?"
"You must release the recipe!"
"A..ahhha.."Komatsu laughed nervously.
"Make way."
The reporter glance back to see who say that cause them to gasp, notice the famous person right away. "OO! It's Mr. Patch from 'G7'!"
"I've come for a tasting of the Century Soup." Mr. Patch announcement himself.
"Wao, even Matsu got the attention from a G7 Gourmet huh~" Kai whistled, remember why G7 stand for; 'Its the Seven taste masters chosen from the Chief member nations of the IGO. Said to be able to recognize the taste of a single grain of sugar of a 25 meter pool, an organization of members who hold a miraculous sense of taste. Taking part in important decisions of the Gourmet age, such assigning as the number of stars in hotels and restaurants and the ranks of cooks, they are important people also serving as inspectors for the IGO.'
"Y...You're PATCH-DONO!" Smith gasped then demand the small Chef, "Chef Komatsu! Read the Century soup right away! With one of the 'G7' Recognizing the taste of the soup here, the number of stars in our hotels is guaranteed to go up! and there'll be a big bonus in it for you, too, Komatsu-kun~" Smith begged.
"No...I don't really need a bonus..." Komatsu sighed then bow solemnly to Mr. Patch. "Um...I sincerely apologize, but...I can't bring out the soup to you right away."
"Mm?! Why?" Mr. Patch blink in surprise by the rejection.
"KOMATSU-KUNNN!" Smith gasped.
Kai smiled as she listen to Komatsu who looks determination, "Because there are people I'd like to taste it first..!"
"Dear me...There are customers that come before me?" Mr. Patch question the chef.
"Yes, That's correct."
"Komatsu! Kai!"
Kai and Komatsu turned around to see the familiar Blue-haired Giant along with Setsuno, Teppei, Takimaru and Match came in together.
"TORIKO-SAN!" Komatsu shout happily to see Toriko finally got his arm regrown back.
"We came to eat it~!" Toriko grinned. "The Century Soup!"
"Your arm! It grew back! It was healed! Thank goodness!" Komatsu cried, ran up toward the Glutton King.
"It took a real long time, though..Sorry I kept you waiting for so long, Komatsu." Toriko smiled.
"No! I'm the one who was really slow, but...I finally finished it! I made the century soup!" He still in disbelief that he made the soup that Setsuno, the famous chef cannot do.
"Yeah..I knew it even before the rumors cropped up. I realized it for some reason." Toriko explain to the small chef, even thought he is not sure what just happen.
"Eh~ before the rumors!?" Kai look at the Glutton in disbelief.
'When the soup was completed...what reacted faster than anything were Toriko's 'gourmet cells'...this last miraculous super-recovery of Toriko's happened because the cells sensed the century soup was finished...' Teppei ponder to himself in disbelief, 'What ferocious life energy..or rather, he's just got full-on gluttony..'
"Now then, Everyone..."Komatsu was geared up in his chef uniform along with Kai who just go along with it, "The Century Soup!"
"Bon Appetit." Kai chimed in, grinned can't wait to see their reaction since she's the first one to see it and even taste it.
'Itadakimasu...'Toriko silently prayed before took off the top cover that covered the bowl, once they do, they gasped in awe by the aurora came out dancing around in the air.
"Amazing!" Takimaru gasped.
"The Aurora came out!" Match exclaimed in shock.
"This...is the true..." Teppei smile.
"Century soup!" Setsuno squealed in delightful.
Kai grinned and think to herself, watching the group start to taste the soup, 'Everyone should have their face on full se—OH EWWW! TORIKO!' She make a face at Torkio's grinning face as she shudder at the group's face cause her to think its was terrify look ever.
"WAAAH! EVERYONE'S MAKING A BAWDY FACE!" Komatsu startled by this.
"YOU JUST NOTICED IT!?" Kai shouted as they all laughing together.
"Komatsu!"
The small chef blinked at the Glutton in quizzically as Toriko grins, "This soup, Would it be okay if I put it in my 'Full course'?"
