A/N: What new chapter, what has possessed the author to do so?

The three of them were sat in Lucy's apartment; Natsu sprawled out on the bed whilst Lucy sat on the ground with Happy on her lap.

"Erza took Lavender back to Fairy Hills, they're gonna take some of Rissy's things to the hospital" she told him.

Natsu nodded slightly before rolling over so he could face his friends. A small frown was on his face as he continued to question the previous days events. The 'blur' as Lucy had called it was in the East Forest and also where Rissy was attacked, only to take her to the hospital - who were they.

"I talked to Levy, she said that Gajeel told her the only way someone smells like two other people is if they're related" Lucy explained.

Natsu sat up in his space on Lucy's bed to get a better look at Lucy.

"But Luce, that makes no sense Rissy and I are related and we don't smell the same..." He remarked with a frown.

Lucy exhaled loudly before shaking her head, for it seemed the situation frustrated her too.

"Well that's what Levy told me" she said with an added sigh. There was a short silence as Lucy fiddled with her hands and Natsu just stared at the ceiling.

"What about her attacker?" Lucy asked.

"What about him?" Happy asked with a small frown.

Lucy frowned at the exceed before turning to Natsu.

"We know nothing about who they are, what motivations they had and why they attacked. He or she is our main concern" Lucy pointed out.

Natsu nodded however he knew that going after said attacker was practically pointless, since after all their scent practically appeared out of nowhere.

"There's no way of finding him, his scent just disappeared" He told her with a sigh.

He silently watched as the dark haired man headed towards the hospital, he couldn't linger around for too long since like the salmon haired mage he was a dragon slayer and would be able to detect his scent. He walked away whilst using the shadows to conceal himself, he followed the scent of the attacker.

Their scent still lingered around Magnolia, they were still in the area though hiding and this was a game of cat and mouse. He stiffened slightly once he passed the Fairy Tail building, the large building had always held importance to him however he knew that if he wanted it to exist he had to keep his emotions in check.

He sighed once he continued to walk,

"You new round here?" A voice asked him and turning around he was met with the face of a brunette holding a bottle of sake on her right hand.

He nodded before he found his voice; he was supposed to not run into any Fairy Tail members but it seemed that was no longer an option.

"Um yeah" he answered, running a hand through his dark locks.

She narrowed her eyes as if assessing him, her figures ghosted over the cards tucked into her belt before she turned back to face him.

"You're mage aren't you" she stated, though he knew that it should have been a question.

He nodded once more as he faced the brunette.

"Yeah, but I'm not part of a guild" he answered with a smile.

Her eyes seemed to light up at this and she placed her free hand on his arm.

"Well today's your lucky day" she declared as she proceeded to pull him towards the guild hall. She briefly turned to face him, her bottle now empty tucked under her arm and her hand out for him to take.

"Cana, and you?" She asked with a grin.

He took her hand with a small smile, telling her a name wouldn't hurt.

"Rinan"

The train ride had been a long one, though Rogue assumed that it was due to having his thoughts plagued on Rissy and bring without accompaniment. His motion sickness wasn't too bad either as his mind was already focused elsewhere the bile threatening to make an appearance was the least of his concerns.

Once he had arrived at the hospital a nice doctor was able to point him in the direction of her room, and his thoughts began to overtake him once more. He never was a fan of hospitals himself, in places like these there was no room for fond memories - only sickness, sadness and ultimately death.

He slowly pushed her room door open; a small smile crossed his features once he found her sound asleep. She was tucked in a foetus position, most likely having kicked off the blankets in her sleep as they barely covered her body and where doing a better job with the floor.

He slowly crossed the space between them, being careful to not wake her from her slumber. The newfound closeness allowed him a better view of her, wild salmon hair was fanned around her pillow and her right arm, along with her left leg were adorned with bandages.

He gently removed a strand of her hair away from her forehead; the action caused her so stir slightly and her eyes fluttered open. He was glad that those dark orbs contained the same sparkle which just screamed hope and joy, though he was aware that she needed rest.

She gave him a small smile before trying to sit up, he gently placed a hand on her shoulder to cease her movements and to avoid her putting herself through unnecessary pain.

Her eyes briefly met his, and she nodded - albeit reluctantly before lowering herself back down to the bed.

"You need rest" he told her, his concern was easily heard and it caused her to smile.

"No naps for the restless" she muttered before her eyes shut briefly. She however, quickly opener them to glance back at him.

"I'm glad you're here" she continued, her voice was hoarse as if her throat were sore.

He nodded before gently smoothing the hair out her face and kneeling beside her, so he was at eye level to the side of the bed.

"I'm glad you're alright" He replied.

She smiled once more, moving her uninjured arm to gently squeeze his own.

"It's okay" she assured him, and he couldn't help but smile, for even though she was the one beaten - the one in need of comforting, she was comforting him.

He took her smaller hand in his larger one, bringing it to his lips to softly kiss the back of her palm.

"Try not to talk, rest" he told her once more.

She gently shook her head with a small smile, always so stubborn.

"No you're here" she reminded him, as if the answer were obvious.

He smiled before motioning to stand.

"Maybe I should go so you could rest?" He suggested.

He wasn't surprised when she shook her head once more and grasped his arm to pull him back down.

"No stay" She said with a small yawn. She was obviously tired, they both knew that but she was fighting sleep and to be honest Rogue found it both innocent and sweet.

"Where's Lavender?" She asked whilst blinking the sleep from her eyes.

"Your friend Erza took her back to Fairy Hills" He told her, whilst his thumb ran small circles on the back of her hand.

She nodded before shifting in her place slightly to get more comfortable, but she reached for her right and pulled out a brown paper bag.

"For you..." she said softly as she placed it in his hands.

He nodded before opening it up; they never did exchange gifts so he was naturally curious as to what was inside.

"I wanted to give it to when you came back from the summit...so its not wrapped" She explained as he pulled out the lacrima globe.

The globe started to light up, flashing a bright white light before images slowly faded across its surface. A smile crossed his face once more once be realised it was photos of the two of them.

He then turned back to face her she seemed to be awaiting his verdict,

"It's perfect...you're perfect" he told her whilst placing a soft kiss to her forehead.

She smiled once more, her eyes bright and her elongated canines in full view.

"No...far from perfect, but you love me all the same" she said with a giggle.

She wasn't aware that he had stiffened slightly, but he did. He didn't deny the statement for he knew it was true - Sting was right, he has it bad and he was in love with her.

She shifted once more and her breathing slowed some, for she had finally fallen asleep. He kissed her forehead once more, a small smile forming on her face even in sleep. He moved to find a vacant chair, determined to stay until she woke up and watch over her till then.

So what did you think of that?

Sorry but once again it is a short chapter mostly to avoid giving away too much.

So Rogue is in love with Rissy. Natsu can't find this attacker and mystery man now has a name.

Stay tuned for the next chapter.
