140. I Can't Stop Chasing
He couldn't stop chasing her;
no matter how many times he fell,
it wasn't enough.
He was just too much in love
to think that would never change,
to ever turn away.
He didn't flirt with other girls:
he loved her just that much
that it was unfathomable,
inconceivable, that he'd ever be
that boy
who could pretend
to love another.
He couldn't stop chasing her;
he wouldn't; he'd continue to love
and her biting rejections would never sting
enough to make him stop; he'd keep trying,
keep trying until she finally caved
and then he'd have the pleasure
of knowing she loved him back.
