156. There is Only Ever One
There was only ever one
whom she could love
and she decided it was him.
They could only have one love
and it was him.
She'd fallen for him; she'd made him her own
and he loved her back; and that was all there was
No other crushes, no other fleeting loves,
no others with whom she shared her bed
or her song
But his ears, which she caressed as she sung her song
of love and she shed her skin, showing her true form
and he took her, because he loved her as well
And they made their happy future together,
nice and bright
But if he hadn't loved her,
she'd have sacrificed her one and only chance to him anyway
because she loved him.
