On Emma's way to her parents she made the guard who was coming with her stop at Ruby's house. It was on the outskirts of where her parents lived. She remembered from when she had first made her way to her parents.
She knocked on the Ruby's door, there was no answer. Emma knocked again, but there was still no answer. Emma pushed the door open for herself. The inside wasn't empty. All the furniture still sat inside. Emma could smell something. Like someone had just been cooking.
Something felt off to Emma, like she had just missed someone. Emma went deeper inside the house to keep looking but there was no one there. She wondered where Ruby and her grandmother might of gone. Emma decided she would make sure they weren't with her parents before snooping any further. She hoped they were ok.
The guard brought Emma to her parents door and he left. Emma was great full he wasn't going to stay. She knew her parents wouldn't like it.
Once she knocked the door was opened by one of the dwarfs. It was sneezy, when he saw her he said "Emma is that you."
The short man started running down the hall and disappeared. Emma knew he was going to tell her parents.
She came inside. The castle looked much different than it did when she had first arrived as a child. Everything seemed much different.
Her parents came running towards her.
Snow was no longer large, like Emma had left her. Tears were come down her mother's porcelain cheeks. Emma could tell her father was keeping strong for Snow. He didn't cry but he looked as if he could.
Once her father had hugged her he said "how did you get away."
Emma said "I didn't have to, Regina is letting me visit you guys."
Snow said "why would she just let you go, you're not going back."
Emma said "yes, I have to." She took the necklace in her hand and said "this necklace it will bring me back after two days is over."
Snow wiped her tears away and said "we can see if blue can disarm it."
Emma said "if we try anything like that I will send back before our time is up. We should just leave it alone."
Charming shook his head and said "no Emma, we cannot just do nothing."
Emma said "we don't have a choice, all I want is to enjoy the time we have."
Charming said "but don't you at least want to try, me and your mother don't want you to go back with Regina."
Emma said "Regina isn't actually that bad dad, and I don't want to risk it. That is my choice."
Her parents did not accept this, Emma could tell. When her father said he understood, Emma knew it was a lie. But they would never understand.
Emma said "where is Henry. I really want to see him."
Snow said "he is upstairs with the baby, you have to meet the baby!"
Emma smiled wildly and said "yes I do."
Snow hurried Emma upstairs, charming followed the woman close behind. When they made it to the baby's room Emma was instantly in awe.
It was gorgeous, this little boy was definitely going to be a spoiled one. It made Emma remember Regina. She was already starting to miss her. It hasn't been long. It had only taken a day to get here.
Once Emma saw Henry she could have cried, she did teared up. She took him in a long embrace and said "I am so happy to see you, you have become such a little man."
Henry hugged her harder as he said "you look exactly the same mom."
Emma let him go, but she kept hold of his shoulders and said "how are you."
Henry said "I am good, grandpa has been teaching me how to ride horses. He is even teaching me how to handle a sword.
Emma said "that's awesome Henry, I am so happy to find you happy. Maybe you could teach me a little sword fighting while I am here."
Henry said "while you're here? Why wouldn't you be here for good?"
Emma wiped her tears away and said "well I'm only here for today, Regina put an enchantment on me. I can only visit with you guys."
Henry looked worried as he said "but you have to stay, I don't want you to go. You can't."
Emma shook her head and said "but I have to, I don't have a choice. I promise you, we will hang out all day."
Henry nodded, he knew what his mother must be going through. He still remembered when he was only allowed to visit with Emma when he was a kid. All he wanted to do was be with her, but Regina wouldn't let him go. Not for very long.
Emma went over to her mother, she held the baby in her arms. He looked so fragile and cute. The second Emma made it to them Snow put the baby in her arms and said "he is only a couple weeks old. His name is Neil after his Uncle."
Emma looked up at her mother with wide eyes and said "really that's so sweet! He really is the cutest."
Snow said "he's a handful as well, but I figure it's because he is our first baby."
Emma's smile dropped suddenly, her mother noticed this and said "that's not what I meant Emma, all I was saying was he is the first baby we took care of. I wish we could have done so with you Emma. But because of Regina we couldn't." Snow rubbed her back to try and comfort her.
Emma said "that's ok, I did have at least one chance for a good childhood."
Snow said "what you had with Regina wasn't a childhood, at least not what it's supposed to be."
Emma said "it was much better than foster care."
Charming suddenly barged into the room then, he had something in his hand. He quickly said "rumple has given me a potion, he said it can take the power of the necklace away."
Emma held the necklace in her hand protectively and said "we can't, I will be sent back and she won't ever let me leave. We can't trust rumple."
Charming said "yes Emma we can, he hasn't failed me before. Plus it's our only option."
Emma said "no it's not. Why do you guys care so much! Stop looking for something to fix. All I want is to be here with you. I want to visit with my son, before I have to leave."
Charming said "I don't understand, don't you want to be with us all the time. This potion will do that."
Emma said "I am not drinking it and that's finale."
Snow took Neil out of her arms and said "what has become of you Emma. You have changed."
Emma was now becoming angry and sad. She didn't think she had changed. She didn't understand why her parents didn't understand. She didn't want to ruin this, she wouldn't.
Emma turned to Henry and said "how about you go teach me some sword fighting, I hear your great at it."
They went to go and leave when Snow said "first we should have dinner, then you two can go out and play."
There her mother went. Treating Emma like a child. Everyone did. She couldn't stand it. Emma was to agitated to fight with her so she said "ok mother."
Snow put little Neil in his cradle before ushering them all down the stairs. Emma made sure to sit next to Henry. She wanted to know everything about his life now. She wanted to talk to him.
Once they were all seated a man brought them their drinks. Once he was gone Emma asked her parents if Ruby and granny were here at the castle.
Charming said "no, why? Do you think something has happened."
Emma said "yes, she wasn't at her house, I felt like something bad had happened."
Charming said "they were probably just out for a walk, I doubt there is anything to worry about."
Emma agreed with him but she really didn't. She felt like something was wrong, she knew it. On her way back she would check on them.
Before dinner came Emma took one large gulp of her drink. It tasted like beer. She hadn't had a beer in so long. Regina didn't allow it. She finished the drink in seconds before slamming the glass down and giving Henry a huge smile and she said "so what's been up with you. Other than the sword fighting."
He didn't get a chance to answer for Emma found herself back at Regina's castle. She appeared in Regina's bedroom, with Regina standing there waiting for her.
When Emma saw her she said "my time isn't up, bring me back."
Regina said "I told you the rules Emma, you tried to break my charm. It is your fault that you're back here dear."
Emma shook her head frantically as she said "no, I didn't do anything to your fucking necklace. I swear. I don't know what happened, all I was doing was talking to Henry."
Regina said "don't lie to me, and don't curse at me either. Don't think for one second just because I let you leave that you can disobey my rules."
Emma suddenly realized just how mad Regina was. Regina thought she couldn't
trust Emma.
Emma was angry too, not particularly at Regina. She knew her parents had done something. She knew this because she knew she didn't.
Emma said "your rules! I am so sick of that. I didn't do anything it was my parents. You should trust me. I haven't given you any reason not to. I barely got a chance to talk to my son."
Tears started falling down her angry red cheeks and Regina said "that is your fault Emma, don't blame your parents. Everything that comes out of your mouth is a lie. You will never see your son again thanks to your little stunt. I warned you Emma."
Emma cried harder as she fell to her knees and said "Mother please, I really didn't do this! Please believe me."
Regina stepped away from Emma, avoiding eye contact. She didn't trust Emma but she didn't like seeing her this way either. She never had and she didn't like it now.
Emma cried "please, don't do this. I just want to visit with my son."
Regina shook her head and said "no Emma, you did this to yourself. Pick yourself off the floor, it's filthy."
Emma did as she was told and Regina took a handkerchief from her pocket and wiped away Emma's tears and said "you have to be punished, I didn't think I would have to resort to the dungeon again. You give me no choice."
Emma couldn't believe this, everything was fine and now this. Her life was suddenly turning back into hell. She sure hopes she could find some way to convince Regina. Emma said "if that's truly what you think I need mother but you just remember I told you the truth before you start thinking I betrayed you because I didn't."
Emma didn't have a chance to see Regina's reaction for she was sent to the dungeon before she could.
