Emergency

/This is the next chapter. Enjoy. Also will be in 3rd person from now on. I will maintain 1st person when I deem it more effective.

/Not much crossing in this one. More some backgroundy stuff. This camp is unaware of Rosetta and Louise

Percy Jackson POV

Percy faced off against the scowling form of Clarrise. Riptide drawn he charged her, and their blades clashed with a mighty clang. The resultant flurry of blades and clashes was incredibly quick, sparks flying in a deadly dance. This was the semi final in the Greek-Roman One on One combat tournament. Both camps would have their warriors fight there way up to be number one in their camp, and would face off against the other camps victor. The winner would receive whatever blessing the Gods felt like. If they couldn't be bothered, as was often the case the winner would receive a handshake. Or a nod. Or a clap. Rules were that those with special divine gifts, such as the blessing of Ares, or water manipulation were not allowed to use them. Swords only. Medics were on side just in case.

Since the days of world ending threats were seemingly gone and with permission and a little helping hands from the gods, the combination of Greek and Roman efforts was practically tripled. The camps were expanded hugely with security and specialist hunting units set up. Monster activity had been reduced tremendously, the hunters of Artemis were working over time, often supported by Amazonian's and Lupas pack. The demi gods had gained a huge foothold in uniting the camps and pulling the gods together. Yet there were always enemies, and despite the increased survival rates, monster attacks were becoming more and more frequent on those who were not claimed by a divine parent.

However with more survivors the demigods could now host more competitions, and events such as the one occurring now. The fight ended with Percy standing victoriously over Clarrise. She glared back up at him.

"Sorry Clarrise, but Annabeth would kill me if I didn't avenge her defeat." Percy said with a cocky smile.

"Bite me fish brain." Clarrise snapped, but still took hold of Percy's outstretched hand, and he pulled her up.

The crowds cheering was stopped by some demigod who had been unfortunate enough to be put on patrol, sprinted up to an intrigued Chiron, narrowly missing Mr D and almost knocking his drink over. He may regret that later.

"We have monsters, and automatons. Lots of them. They can't get in our borders but they are waiting outside." He panted. Poor kid was new. He should of rang the bell. Maybe he hadn't seen so many monsters before?

"All right. Clarrise take your cabin to the borders. See what's happening, Apollo's cabin will reinforce you." Chiron commanded. "Where in hades is Leo? Someone find him, he needs to be down there too." Chiron was answered by a collossal explosion, and a woop from someone who sounded suspiciously like Leo. Chiron looked up to see Festus blitzing the borders with concentrated bursts of fire.

"Someone should check the borders, he may be doing more damage to the ground than any actual monsters. He isn't exactly a son of Apollo when it comes down to aiming," Percy muttered. He joined Clarrisse and the other campers as they made there way over to join Leo, before he destroyed everything.

Chiron POV

Chiron watched the campers with a small sense of worry as they made there way to the borders. If the kid had been right, there would be many creatures down there, which meant that casualties were a distinct possibility. He sighed, and turned, but stopped as he felt something. Something like a pop and a ripple. He looked over at Mr D. Evidently if Chiron felt it then the god must have too.

"You feel that Chiron?" he asked curiuously.

"I did." I reply

"This is a problem. I am not old enough to have experienced this before, but some of the other gods have. Usually when there is potent magic involved. Normally enough to shake the foundations of our universe. The effects are very, very subtle, but they are there. I'd imagine it was there when Gaia awoke. Although I was a little disorientated at the time."

Chiron nodded thoughtfully. He knew the world tended to shake under the weight of some of the more powerful deities. His father Chronos for one.

"But for us to feel it this much... It must mean that something is close."

"The oracle will be consulted."

"This maybe something of a more technical nature maybe Hephaestus?"

"Possibly. Either way we will deal with it in the form of a quest."

"Really? Without camp Jupiter?"

"I never said that. We will call a council meeting and invite the Romans. Then a quest party can be put together."

"I am so glad you are in charge of running things Chiron. Now if you will excuse me, I have to teach a demigod a thing or two... Oh don't worry. He will still live." He added with a smile.

Percy Jackson POV

"Holy Hades, That is a lot of monsters." Percy stared at the small army that had accumulated just outside of the borders. Its not like he hadn't seen that many in one place before, after all he had been smack bang in the middle of the events with the titans, and with the Giants.

"Scared Fish Breath?" Clarrise taunted.

"A little. It would ease my fears if you put on a helmet though. Preferably with a face guard." Percy grinned as Clarrise got ready to launch into a verbal tirade. Possibly bordering on physical.

A short blast cut her off however, as Leo performed a fly-by peppering the ground with Greek fire. The blasts obliterated cyclops' as celestial bronze fragments were sent into there bodies. Other monsters were consumed by the flames. Automatons started to melt in the flames, and some even burst killing more monsters.

"Woah Leo Leave some for us would ya?" Percy shouted.

"Leo waved back down at them and pointed to the Hephaestus cabin. He then flew off. Unbeleivable. The guy shows up kills more than half the monsters and leaves.

"Alright Ares cabin! Split into two groups! Group 1 form a shield wall infront of Apollos kids. Group 2 are with me! V formation now!"

"Did you deliberately ignore me?" Percy muttered.

"Who said your fighting?" Clarrise smiled and sprinted to the front of the V formation. Her electric spear at her side. A dull red glow surrounding her body.

"Really?" Percy muttered. Using your gift to fight a small number of monsters? What if a larger group attacks within a day? She is only able to use her fathers blessing Once per day.

"CHARGE!" Clarrise Shouted and the formation rushed forwards. Immediatley the Apollo kids started firing, raining hell on the monsters. Careful enough to aim at the targets at the back, so that they do not hit an Ares kid and accidentally kill one. I still rushed in after them however, and managed to bag my self some stragglers. Although Clarrise was in the thick of it. She would have plenty of bragging rights after the fight is over.

After the monsters were defeated, which surprisingly only resulted in one injury the campers returned to the big house for there report. Only to find that Chiron had some news.

/There you go. I hope you guys are satiated... My goal is 4 chapters by this Sunday. I do have other projects, Such as Defeat. Feel free to check that out too.
