A Larger Poetry Collection
186. Strange head

It felt strange: his head detached
from the rest of the world.
Not a bad feeling
but strange nonetheless.
Just floating in a bubble of air
while lake-water had the rest

But it was the mark of a good spelt cast
that his head was spared from that
and he could breath, even with the curtain
of water all round

Though it still felt strange:
his head was lighter than the rest of his body
almost like…it was a different head.
