187. Just to Notice Her

She didn't want a love built
with lies, but the truth would never win
him over, so she had no other choice;

Just a building block, she told herself,
just so he'll notice her,
turn her way
and then he could fall in love with her
naturally, and if she played her cards right
he'd never have to know…
after all, her competition
was a blonde airhead and a bookworm;
it was no match at all.

She didn't want a love build
with lies, but she'd let a little white lie:
that potion in the chocolates she'd sent
set the stage: he'd fall in love with her
she was sure, given the chance.
