Chapter 17 : I was so afraid

-Aomine's POV-

I ran as fast as I could. Damn, what happened to you, Aoki! When I finally reached the hospital, I couldn't think anymore. As soon as I reached the hospital, the paramedics ran towards me and helped me to place Aoki on the gurney. I tried to bring down his body as gently as I could. After his body was placed properly on the gurney, I leaned forward to his face. I was so afraid that I didn't know what I gonna do or say, so I only whispered every word that appeared on my mind to his left ear, "Be strong Aoki, now you're on the right hands." Then the paramedics rushed him to the emergency section. I watched as his body being moved away, getting further then disappeared behind the doors.

-Normal's POV—

Aomine Daiki just stood like a statue while seeing Aoki's body being carried away by the paramedics. Even after he lost the sight of Aoki, he still just stood there, unknown what to do. Then he covered his face with both of his hands, starting to walking around aimlessly on the hall. Then he went to the side of the emergency section's door. He leaned his tanned body to the wall, and then his body slowly fall down, now sitting on the floor.

By the time Momoi Satsuki arrived to the said hospital along with her father, she found her childhood friend was muttering something while covering his face. She quite shocked, and she secretly made a mental note to prepare herself before she know what happened to Aoki. Never she knew that actually her childhood friend could be as desperate as he looked like this time.

"Dai-chan," called her carefully, "what happened to Aoki-kun?"

The boy then finally uncovered his face and looked towards the girl in front of him confusedly, but soon he regained his composure a little, "Oh Satsuki, you finally came here." Then he realized that Momoi's father was there also. He jumped in a second and stood up, "Oh, good evening, Momoi-san." Momoi's father just nodded upon his greeting.

"Dai-chan are you alright? You looked horrible! What happened to Aoki-kun?"

Aomine let out small huff, then he started to laugh. Momoi frowned at him. Then Aomine opened his mouth, "The hell, I only pray to God once every year when we go to the shrine in New Year, but today I can't stop praying since I ran to this hospital. I… I don't know what happened to Aoki. I… he…" Aomine started to mutter.

"Wait Dai-chan, now let's sit down," said Momoi as she lead Aomine to the bench, " now explain to me everything."

Aomine took a long breath before he continued his story, "I met him on the court today, and we had a little fight because he was so stubborn. He played basketball with some delinquents till he couldn't get up…"

"What? You hit Aoki-kun! Dai-chan you…" Momoi frowmed then looked ready to hit Aomine's head.

"Hey don't cut me Satsuki! I didn't hit him! I said we had a little fight, but I didn't hit him. We just shouted to each other!"

"Oh, that'so."

Aomine didn't care with the interruption from Momoi, he continued his words, "Then I offered him to walk him home since he couldn't walk. I carried him on my back, but on our way to his home he fell unconscious. I was so afraid, then I asked a policeman which way that lead me to the nearest hospital. Then I called you to go here, Satsuki. Now Aoki is in emergency room," finished Aomine.

Momoi couldn't help but covered her mouth upon hearing the story from Aomine. "Oh my, Aoki-kun. I hope he is allright." As if she had realized, she quickly took her cellphone and made a call. Aomine looked towards his childhood friend, "Who are you calling?"

"I call Aoki-kun's parents. I have his telephone number."

Momoi had just speaking to Aoki's mother when suddenly the emergency room's door swung open. In a flash, Aomine ran towards the middle-aged doctor who stepped out from the room.

"How is he, doctor? What happened to him?"

The said doctor fixed his glasses, tried to observe Aomine-kun in detail, "Are you the one who bring her here? Then you are a family of Miss Nakamura Aoki?"

"Yes, I mean Aoki! Eh…what did you say?"

"Are you one of Miss Nakamura Aoki's family? I haven't seen you before, since she always get her medical check up here with her parents. Could you please call her parents? She is alright by now, but I need to talk with her parents."

"You said… Miss… Aoki?" Aomine asked confusedly.
