Chapter 18 : No wonder

-Normal POV-

Aomine furrowed his eyebrows, " Wait, Sir… You must be kidding me! Aoki is not a girl. He is a boy!" confused Aomine tried to explain to the doctor.

The said doctor raised his glasses, "I'm sorry, but…"

At the same time Momoi interrupted, "Ah, I'm sorry Sensei, I'm Aoki's friend, I have called her parents and currently they are on the way to the hospital."

Aomine could not accept his childhood friend interruption, "What are- mmph! Mmphf!" Aomine could not continue his protest because Momoi's hand covered his mouth tightly.

The old doctor smiled to Momoi, "Oh good, young lady, you not need to worry anymore. Aoki is not on her critical condition anymore."

"Can we take a look on her, Sensei?" asked Momoi again. She still worried, even after the doctor said that Aoki was alright. She had to see Aoki with her own eyes. Moreover, a boy standing beside herself could not be patient enough to see Aoki. She could barely hold Aomine struggling, tried to uncover his mouth.

"Both of you can visit her with their parents later. Let her rest for a bit. I hope you can be patient. Please inform her parents to visit my room after they have arrived later," said the doctor as he took his leave.

"Arigatou, Sensei!" Momoi bowed, along with Aomine who did it reluctantly, but couldn't help as Momoi kept forcing him to do so.

"Hey Satsuki! Now explain me all of this nonsense! How come you know Aoki's parents? Even you were agree to that old doctor, blabbering the nonsense that Aoki is a girl!" Aomine grabbed Satsuki's shoulders. He was confused enough when all of the sudden Aoki collapsed, then the old doctor came from nowhere said that Aoki was a girl, now his childhood friend even contacted Aoki's parents. Just what on earth has happened here!

Momoi yanked Aomine's hands, "Get your hands off from me, Dai-chan! I know, that's why I'm going to tell you about this!"

"Then tell me quickly Satsuki!" Can-not-wait Aomine yelled to the girl in front of him.

Momoi sat on the bench nearby, "First of all, I need to tell you that I have visited Aoki's home, and Aoki's father took me home after, that's why I know her parents. Aoki's mother even give me their phone number, because they said that…, that it is a long time since the last time Aoki brought a friend to her home," explained Momoi calmly.

"What? How come you know Aoki's address? That brat didn't even let me to know his address!"

"It's because I had a little research on her."

"Research? What do you mean Satsuki?" Aomine even getting more confused.

Momoi knew that her childhood friend definitely would not let this pass, "Well, I was curious, where was her school, since she told us that her school had been participating in Interhigh as well, but got eliminated on the first round. So I checked the list of the first-round-eliminated school in Interhigh, then found out that she studies in St. Marie High School."

Aomine still kept silent, waiting. Momoi gulped, she knew that Aomine still paying attention to every word that came out from her mouth.

"I asked to some students there, and they say that they knew Nakamura Aoki, but they said that Aoki whom they knew is not a boy, but a… girl, instead," explained Momoi.

"But of course I didn't believe them at first, till I found her house and met her parents. It's all true Dai-chan, Aoki is a girl. She is a girl," ended Momoi. She could see that Aomine's composure was not stable, nearly stumble, but he managed to get a hold of himself. She was shocked too at first, but she knew that if her dumb childhood friend would know about this fact later, he would be extremely shocked.

Aomine covered his face. Now he could recall all those moments, from the first time they met, when he was playing basketball with Aoki, when Aoki leaned her back to his chest while standing in the train, till when he piggyback Aoki today. No wonder he felt something strange inside whenever he was with Aoki. No wonder Aoki has delicate feature as a boy. No wonder… no wonder…

"SHIT!" Aomine yelled so loud. Momoi, who surprised by his sudden loud voice, smacked his face.

"Oughh! That's hurt, Satsuki!" protested Aomine.

"Baka! Why did you suddenly yell like that, Dai-chan!?"

Aomine just rubbing his face which got smacked by Momoi, but his face getting redder, as he remembered when he fell atop Aoki's petite body.

"So that's why it's felt soft there…" murmured Aomine.

"What? What did you say Dai-chan?"

"Ah no, nothing," he said back while still covering his mouth with his hands. But, deep inside he felt relieved, at least he was normal. He had thought before that he had fallen in love with a guy. But, although shocked after knew that Aoki was a girl, now he could not worry anymore. He was a normal guy!

"Satsuki-chan!"

Both teenagers turned their head to the source of the voice. At the entrance a tall man wearing a black polo shirt was running along with a long-blonde-haired beautiful woman. Aomine noticed that the man had a dark blue hair just like him and Aoki. So they were…

"Nakamura-san!" Momoi quickly called them back, "Dai-chan, they are Aoki-chan's parents!"
