199. Wormtail

he hated them: his so called friends who thought
they could laugh at him and get only smiles back
in return; those fools were always like that, not thinking
that he might be hurt by their remarks, their well-meaning
teases, that weren't teases when it ended with him blinking
back tears

but he was just little Wormtail who was the butt of everyone's jokes
including theirs – and what was the point in them defending him
if they turned and laughed at him afterwards?
