Chapter 21 : Sure a blessing

Why is it so damn dark?

There are voices outta there… whose voices are them?

I tried to open my eyes, and found plain white ceiling above. Blinked few times, before I got the clearer view.

Where am I right now?

With my hand, I tried to get up, just when I realized that my body felt limp. I saw a plastic tube was stick to my wrist. I looked around. This place was definitely a hospital.

Again, I heard something like people were having conversation outside.

Sou ka, so I was in hospital huh? But there was no one here. Seemed like there were people outside just in front of my room.

"Ano…"

Damn it, my voice just all cracked and way too soft to be heard.

I glanced on the table beside my bed, and found a bell attached to the wall near the table. It was a bell that could bring the doctor and nurses came to your room in couple of minutes. I stretched my arm to press the button, but I messed up and accidentally pushed the glass. It fell freely from the table.

Crap!

The sound of breaking glass was followed by a the door that opened a jar in a flash. Otousan and Okaasan were frantically running to my side. By the look of their face, they sure were worried of my state.

"Aoki! Don't get up yet!"

"Oh my daughter! You woke up! Otou-san is right, don't push yourself just yet!"

I saw Okaasan had pressed the button before she help me to lied down. Okay, now I know that I wasn't alone here.

"How do you feel, Aoki? Anything hurt?" I saw Otousan was standing beside my bed. I just nodded, while my mind was busy thinking what bring could bring me to this hateful place.

Which snapped me in an instant!

Last time I knew, I was going home –piggyback ride, thanks to Aomine. Then my eyes got heavy and then everything went dark. And before that, I quietly slipped off of my home without properly telling Okaasan where I was going to. Then to make it worst, I played basketball with some delinquents till nearly death.

This is absolute danger. How to explain it to them?!

But at that time I turned my head around to the door. And he was there, with the pink haired girl behind. I could see a hint of worry in his face, but he sure looked like being overwhelmed by relief. The same goes to the said pink haired girl.

It warmed my heart in an instant. To wake up in a hospital and then see your loved ones around is sure a blessing.

I mumbled under my breath, "Aomine-kun, Satsuki-chan."

I could see Satsuki's eyes forming a tear, with her hand covered her mouth, "You finally awake Aoki-chan," she said while taking big steps approcahing my bed. She stood there, and I could see that she was doing her best to restrain herself from jumping and hug me to death, "Yokatta," was all she managed to say.

"Glad to see you, Satsuki-chan," I smiled to her, tried to reassure her that I was alright. I glanced back to the navy blue haired boy that followed her close behind. I was about to say thanks to him for piggyback me at that time when the doctor and nurses came into the room.

"This way, Sir," said Otousan and let them to examinate me. I frowned my eyes when I saw Aomine mumbled something before turned his back. I don't like how his face looked like. He seemd so sad, yet I didn't know why. I tried to read the lines through his lips movement.

He was saying… yo… katta? Then sa... yo... nara?

Is he actually saying goodbye?
