Kate, Stefano, and Chad await the test results from Lexie.
Stefano:
"What are the results?"
Lexie:
"Chad is EJ's son."
She says with a smile. Stefano smiles as well.
Chad:
"I'm a DiMera."
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL BOARD ROOM
Phillip and Lucas are just wrapping up a meeting about the hospital benefit.
Lucas:
"Very well done little bro."
Phillip:
"Thank you and welcome aboard."
Lucas:
"Thanks. I think this is a great thing you're doing here. The new Children's wing is going to be perfect."
Phillip:
"And perfect timing now that I'm about to be a father myself."
Lucas:
"Speaking of which, how is that going with Chloe?"
Phillip:
"Ok so far, once our parents stay out of it. I'm sure things could be a little easier."
Lucas:
"I can imagine."
Belle walks in.
Belle:
"Phillip. Lucas. Hey."
Phillip:
"Hey, Nurse Brady."
Lucas:
"Nurse?"
Belle:
"Yep. Tonight is my first night."
Lucas:
"Oh well congratulations."
Belle:
"Thank you. Tonight is Shawn's first night at the station."
Lucas' phone vibrates. He pulls it out of his pocket.
Phillip:
"Awesome for him. Where's Claire?"
Lucas:
"Excuse me. This thing has been going off all night."
Phillip:
"Okay."
Lucas walks away to check his messages.
Belle:
"Claire's with Hope and Ciara. Shawn and I figured she could use a pick me up."
Phillip:
"How is Hope doing? I've been meaning to see her, but I doubt she would be happy to see me."
Belle:
"She's doing better."
Phillip:
"Well, let her know if she needs anything just let me know."
Belle:
"I will. I need to get back to work."
Phillip:
"Okay bye."
Lucas walks back over to Phillip.
Lucas:
"Sami and mom called and guess what? It's about the same things."
Phillip:
"And what could that be?"
Lucas:
"It's about Will."
SALEM PD
Shawn walks into the police station where Bo is looking through some files.
Shawn:
"Office Shawn Brady reporting for duty sir."
Bo looks up with a smile on his face.
Bo:
"Welcome aboard Officer Brady."
Shawn smiles back. Evan walks in and interrupts.
Evan:
"Commissioner Brady."
Bo:
"What's up Parker?"
Evan:
"I got the surveillance video from the night of the hit and run."
Bo:
"Excellent. We can watch it now. This can be your first case Shawn."
Shawn:
"Cool."
Evan:
"Also got a report that there was a fight at the Pub."
Bo:
"Alright you and Shawn go down there and get statements. I'll be down there in a bit. I'm going to put the surveillance video in my office."
Evan hands Bo the video then leaves the station with Shawn. Bo walks into his office and places the video on his desk. He then leaves and locks the door.
THE BRADY PUB
Nathan freezes as Daniel questions him.
Daniel:
"Ok I'll ask again, what is going on here?"
Nathan is about to answer when Melanie walks in. Nathan notices her. She looks around confused. Daniel and Nathan are standing face to face while Stephanie is straightening Eddie's shirt. Stephanie looks up and sees Melanie. She thinks to herself.
Stephanie:
"Melanie's here, perfect."
Melanie:
"What's going on?"
Stephanie:
"Eddie and Nathan were fighting over me."
Melanie's shocked.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Stefano:
"This is true? This is great."
Lexie:
"We're all family."
Kate notices the worried look on Chad's face.
Kate:
"Chad, are you okay?"
She walks over to be closer to him.
Chad:
"This is what I wanted to know. It's true. I'm EJ DiMera's son."
Stefano:
"We must tell EJ right away."
Chad:
"Why? It's not like he's going to care."
Stefano:
"He will if he knows it's the truth."
Chad:
"I don't want to see him."
Stefano:
"Well I can't hide this from him. I'm going to tell him."
Chad:
"No you're not."
Stefano pauses for a moment.
Stefano:
"One thing I don't do is hide anything from my son. A DiMera never keeps anything from one another. We're always honest."
Chad:
"I have a hard time believing that."
Kate intervenes.
Kate:
"Stefano, why don't we give Chad a chance to let this sink in."
Stefano:
"Fine, but I'm only giving this till tomorrow."
Chad:
"Fine, we can go talk to EJ."
Stefano:
"Perfect."
Stefano smiles.
THE BRADY PUB
Melanie:
"Why were you fighting about Stephanie?"
Nathan:
"Because…"
Nathan thinks for a moment.
Nathan:
"…because it's stupid. Let's just get out of here."
Eddie:
"Of course run along."
Nathan and Melanie look at Eddie before leaving The Pub. Stephanie turns to Eddie.
Stephanie:
"I think we should leave too."
Eddie:
"Good idea."
Stephanie and Eddie leave The Pub. Caroline excesses the damage.
Caroline:
"All this mess."
Caroline walks over to start cleaning up, but Carrie stops her.
Carrie:
"We can clean this up for you."
Austin:
"Yeah, you can just go back into the kitchen. Don't worry about this."
Daniel:
"I'll help also."
Caroline:
"Thank you, all three of you."
Shawn and Evan walk in.
Shawn:
"What happened here?"
Evan:
"We heard there was a fight."
Caroline:
"Yeah Austin and Daniel broke it up."
Daniel:
"Austin, as in Austin Reed? Kate's son?"
Austin:
"Yeah that's me."
Daniel:
"Nice to meet you. I'm Daniel Jonas."
They shake hands.
Austin:
"Probably one of the strangest ways I've met somebody."
Daniel:
"Yeah."
Evan:
"We're going to need statements from everybody."
Shawn:
"Who was fighting?"
Daniel:
"It was Nathan Horton and I didn't catch the other guy's name."
Carrie:
"Eddie, he is a friend of Stephanie's."
Evan and Shawn write this information down.
Shawn:
"Where are they now?"
Daniel:
"They left."
Evan:
"Does anyone know what the fight was about?"
Carrie:
"Stephanie."
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL: BOARD ROOM
Phillip:
"What about Will?"
Lucas:
"I don't know. I'm going home to talk with Sami to see what's up."
Phillip:
"Ok, let me know what's going on when you get a chance."
Lucas:
"I will. See ya."
Phillip:
"See ya."
Lucas leaves the board room. Phillip follows him shortly after.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Stefano:
"Alright, let's go to the mansion."
Stefano walks to the elevator. Chad slowly follows. Kate walks them walk by. She's about to turn around and follow them when she sees Lucas. She walks up to him.
Kate:
"There you are. Where have you been? I've been trying to find you."
Lucas:
"I had a meeting with Phillip about hospital benefit. What are you doing at the hospital? Is it Will? Did he get hurt or something?"
Kate;
"No. I was here for Chad and Stefano."
Lucas:
"Why?"
Kate:
"Because Chad is EJ's son. Now about Will."
Lucas:
"Wait what?"
Kate:
"Chad is EJ's son, but that's not important right now. This is about Will."
Lucas:
"Okay what about Will?"
Kate:
"He's turning into you."
Lucas looks confused.
THE PARK
Melanie and Nathan walk into the park and sit on a bench.
Melanie:
"So are you going to tell me about the fight or what?"
Nathan:
"Yeah I pushed Eddie."
Melanie:
"Why?"
Nathan:
"Because he's not good for her."
Melanie:
"That's up to Stephanie to figure that out herself. Goodness. You're acting like you have feelings for her or something."
Nathan:
"Well I don't. So can we change the subject?"
Melanie:
"You just got into a fight with Eddie about Stephanie and you want to change the subject."
Nathan jumps up.
Nathan:
"Yes"
Melanie looks up at him.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie and Eddie walk into her apartment. Eddie walks ahead of her, while she closes the door.
Eddie:
"Nice place you have."
Stephanie:
"Thank you."
Eddie sits down on the couch.
Eddie:
"Your couch is comfy."
Stephanie:
"Yeah it is. So why did you and Nathan get into a fight? Was it really about me?"
Stephanie sits down next to him.
Eddie:
"Yeah. Nathan doesn't like that we're getting close."
Stephanie:
"So he's jealous. Perfect."
Eddie looks confused.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ's having a drink and staring out at the terrace when Stefano and Chad come in. EJ hears the door open and turns to watch Stefano and Chad walk in.
EJ:
"What is he doing here?"
Stefano looks at Chad.
Stefano:
"Do you want to tell him? Or should I?"
EJ:
"Tell me what?"
Stefano:
"Chad's your son."
EJ laughs.
EJ:
"He got you with that fake DNA test? Oh come on now Father, I thought you would be smarter than that."
EJ smiles.
Chad:
"I went to Lexie and asked her to do a DNA test on me and her. Then Stefano and Kate showed up and Stefano offered his DNA for testing."
EJ's smile fades some.
EJ:
"You can't be serious."
Stefano:
"We are very serious."
EJ focuses his attention on Stefano.
EJ:
"So you knew there was a possibility that Chad was my son earlier, but you didn't say anything?"
Stefano:
"I didn't know what to say."
EJ:
"You could have just told me the truth."
Chad:
"I thought the DiMera's were always truthful with one another?"
EJ looks at Chad.
EJ:
"You're not a DiMera. You're not my son. Get out of here."
Stefano stands up for Chad.
Stefano:
"He is your son. Our DNA matched."
EJ:
"Well, you didn't test my DNA. So I don't trust this."
Chad:
"Your own sister did the test. I'm your son. Deal with it."
EJ gets into Chad's face.
EJ:
"The only son I have is Johnny. The only other child I have is Sydney. You're not my son, you're not my child. Now get the hell out of this house."
EJ points to the door. Chad and EJ stare at one another then Chad leaves. Stefano tries to stop him.
Stefano:
"Chad, wait."
But Chad ignores him and leaves. Stefano turns his attention back to EJ who has made his way over to pour himself another drink.
Stefano:
"How could you do that to your son?"
EJ takes a sip of his drink then places it on the table.
EJ:
"I don't want anything to do with Chad. He's not my son."
Stefano:
"But he is."
EJ:
"Could you leave me alone please? Thank you."
Stefano stares at EJ and shakes his head before walking away. EJ pulls out his phone and dials a number.
EJ:
"This is EJ DiMera. I need you to find out everything you can about a Chad Peterson-Woods. And get back to me ASAP."
EJ hangs up the phone and takes a big sip of his drink.
THE BRADY PUB
Bo arrives at the Pub as Shawn and Evan are wrapping up taking everyone's statements.
Bo:
"Sorry I'm late. Got caught up. What happened here?"
Shawn:
"Nathan Horton and an Eddie no last name got into a fight over Stephanie."
Bo:
"Well I know Nathan and Stephanie dated, but they broke up and he's dating Melanie Layton now."
Evan:
"Maybe Nathan is jealous?"
Bo:
"I don't think so. Nathan wanted to be with Melanie. His relationship with Stephanie wasn't really about love."
Shawn:
"So now we need to figure out what the motive was."
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Eddie:
"Perfect?"
Stephanie:
"Yeah. Nathan is jealous of you. This means he still wants me."
Eddie laughs. Stephanie's not pleased.
Stephanie:
"Why are you laughing?"
Eddie:
"Because you think Nathan cares about you."
Stephanie:
"What makes you think he doesn't? Why else would he not like that we're hanging out?"
Eddie:
"Because he loves that Melanie chick too much. I mean if you know what he has done to keep her out of jail."
Stephanie:
"What did Nathan do?"
Eddie:
"Melanie is the one that ran down that DiMera chick and I helped cover it up."
Stephanie is shocked. Eddie starts laughing.
Eddie:
"And you know the funniest part about this is? You're the bargaining chip to keep me silent."
Stephanie gets upset.
THE PARK
Melanie:
"You're hiding something from me. Tell me what it is."
Nathan flashes back to his fight with Eddie at the hospital.
Nathan:
"You need to stay away from Stephanie. Gosh, how many times do I have to tell you that?"
Eddie:
"How many times do I have to tell you about all the stuff I have over your head. You know your girlfriend running over that blonde chick and oh yeah you're the last one to see that doctor before he kicked the bucket. And oh all that you said to him. I have your number. So unless you want everyone to know about all of that. I suggest you just go with the flow."
He comes back.
Melanie:
"Hello, earth to Nathan."
Melanie stands up next to him.
Nathan:
"Ok. I'll tell you everything."
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Lucas:
"How so?"
Kate:
"He's involved with a no good, lying little bitch like you once were. Thank God that phase is over."
Lucas:
"I'm guessing you had a run in with him and Mia."
Kate:
"A run in? This little tramp had the nerve to get in my face after what she did to Chad and Will."
Lucas:
"What did she do?"
Kate:
"She and Will went searching around in Colin's apartment for God knows what and ended up finding the DNA test that proved Chad was EJ's son. Then gave it to Chad."
Lucas:
"What? Why?"
Kate:
"I don't know. I didn't get to ask. Mia and Will ran off before I could question them. I don't like that girl at all."
Lucas:
"Well you're not alone. Sami doesn't like her either."
Kate:
"Well that's surprising considering they're like the same person."
Lucas:
"Mia's been through a lot. Getting pregnant by Chad then all that crap with Baker and Nicole. I think we should cut her some slack."
Kate:
"Cut her some slack? Really? She brought all of that on herself and it's no excuse for her behavior. Getting involved with Colin Murphy. Do you not remember what happened here between them?"
Lucas:
"Yes I remember."
Kate:
"Ok then you know that Will and Mia dating is a huge mistake. So if you're not going to do anything about it then I will."
Lucas:
"No leave her alone. I'll talk to Will."
Kate:
"Good. Get a handle on this before Mia gets her claws even more into him like Sami did to you."
Lucas:
"This is different."
Kate:
"Different scenario, same outcome. Mia will destroy Will's life if we don't put a stop to this right away. I don't want Will to go through what you went through with Sami."
Lucas:
"He's not and I wouldn't trade any of the time I was with Sami for anything."
Kate:
"Why the hell not?"
Lucas:
"Because two beautiful children came out of it."
Kate:
"Yeah and one is about to have their life torn apart by one Mia McCormick. Actually it makes sense that he would be attracted to the same type of woman he was raised by."
Lucas:
"I guess you could say the same thing about me."
Kate chuckles.
Kate:
"You're not really comparing me to Sami and Mia?"
Lucas:
"Look, we all have our faults. We all get tangled up with things that aren't good for us."
Kate:
"Nice cover."
Lucas' phone rings. He checks the ID, it's Sami.
Lucas:
"Sami's calling me again."
Kate:
"Don't answer it, we're in the middle of a conversation."
Lucas answers the phone.
Lucas:
"Yes Sami, I got your message. I'm on my way home now. Ok, bye."
Lucas hangs up the phone.
Kate:
"That was so rude."
Lucas:
"I gotta go."
Kate:
"Fine, but you and Sami better do something or I will and you know it won't be pretty."
Lucas:
"Yes I know. I'll talk to you later."
Lucas gets on the elevator and leaves the hospital.
THE BRADY PUB
Carrie:
"Nathan did say something about Eddie needing to leave Stephanie alone."
Shawn:
"So if it's not about jealously and Nathan just wants Melanie, then why would Nathan care Eddie was hanging with Stephanie?"
Bo:
"Good question. We need to find out what this Eddie guy's last name is."
Carrie:
"Stephanie said she met him at the hospital, he was a patient."
Bo:
"Great, thanks Carrie. I'll call Carly and see if she can look up his name."
Bo steps aside and calls Carly.
Bo:
"Hey Carly. Do you know of a guy named Eddie? He was a patient there. Probably recently. He probably was a patient of Nathan's."
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie:
"You're lying. Nathan wouldn't do that to me."
Eddie:
"Oh really? I guess you wouldn't believe that he and his little girlfriend were the last ones to see that doc alive and he threatened to kill him. I wonder what your Uncle Bo, is it? The commish? Would think about that. You know the police believe he was murdered. Something injected into his IV no doubt."
Stephanie:
"Nathan couldn't kill somebody. That's not in him. You're lying about all of this."
Eddie:
"What do you think the fight was about? Nathan doesn't care that we're hanging out. He just doesn't want anyone to know who he really is. He doesn't care about you. He never did."
Stephanie:
"Get out."
Stephanie walks over to her door and opens it.
Eddie:
"The truth hurts. I know. I have proof by the way."
Eddie pulls a key out of his pocket.
Stephanie:
"What's that?"
Eddie:
"A key to my safe deposit box. It has everything in there you need to know what kind of person Dr. Nathan Horton really is."
Stephanie stares nervously.
THE PARK
Melanie:
"I'm listening."
Nathan:
"Eddie knows that we were the last ones to see Colin alive. He heard everything I said to him."
Melanie:
"So that started a fight?"
Nathan:
"He wanted to tell the police."
Melanie:
"So what? Bo knows you didn't do anything. I know you didn't do anything. Let this Eddie guy say whatever he wants. No one will believe him."
Nathan:
"You're right. I don't have anything to worry about."
Melanie:
"Exactly."
Melanie kisses Nathan then stares lovingly into his eyes.
Nathan:
"Maybe I should go back to The Pub and apologize to Caroline."
Melanie:
"Yeah. I'll go with you."
Nathan smiles then takes Melanie's hand as they walk back to The Pub.
THE DIMERA MANSION
Outside the mansion, Kate walks up to see Chad standing outside.
Kate:
"Chad? Why are you outside?"
Chad:
"EJ doesn't want me as his son. He doesn't even believe that I am."
Kate:
"Just give him time."
Chad:
"I don't care anymore."
Chad rushes off.
Kate:
"Chad!"
Kate grunts.
Kate:
"Stupid EJ."
Inside, EJ continues to drink.
Stefano:
"Instead of talking to your son, you're going to have someone dig into his life?"
EJ slams his glass down and turns to face Stefano.
EJ:
"I hand this situation the way that I want to. Okay father?"
EJ leaves the living room as Kate's coming in. She stops to talk to him.
Kate:
"EJ, you need to talk to your son."
EJ just walks by her. She rolls her eyes and enters the living room.
Kate:
"I can't believe your son. No wait, yes I can believe that your son would do this to Chad."
Stefano:
"He's in denial."
Kate:
"Well obviously. I just saw Chad outside."
Stefano:
"I already know how he is."
Kate:
"So what are you going to do about this?"
Stefano:
"I don't know yet, but I will not turn my back on my Grandson."
Kate shakes her head in agreement.
Stefano:
"So how is Lucas? I saw you talking to him at the hospital."
Kate:
"He's fine. It's Will I'm concerned with."
Stefano:
"Why? Is William hurt?"
Kate:
"Not yet but he will be. If he continues to hang out with Mia McCormick."
Stefano:
"Ah, his girlfriend."
Kate:
"Not for long. I'll be damned if I let that little bitch ruin my Grandson's life."
Stefano smiles as he takes a sip of his drink.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie:
"What do you mean?"
Eddie:
"I taped him talking to that doc. Oh and pretty much every conversation that we've had since I did his little dirty work for him. Not to mention pics of his girlfriend's car and all the work that I did on her car. Do you want to see it all?"
Stephanie closes her door.
Stephanie:
"You're telling the truth?"
Eddie:
"Yes I am. Why would I lie to you?"
Stephanie:
"I don't know. You seem to really hate Nathan. And now it all makes sense."
Eddie:
"Yeah I hate him for what he has done. And hurting you. You deserve so much better than him."
Stephanie walks closer to Eddie.
Stephanie:
"Well what do I deserve?"
Eddie:
"Me"
Eddie pulls Stephanie into a kiss.
THE BRADY PUB
Daniel, Austin, and Carrie finish cleaning up The Pub while Shawn and Evan take statements from the customers. Bo's phone with Carly.
Bo:
"Eddie Saunders? Thanks Carly. Call me after your surgery is over. I want to ask you some more questions about Eddie and Nathan."
Bo hangs up with Carly as Nathan and Melanie walk in. Bo looks up and sees them.
Bo:
"Nathan, just the guy I was about to go looking for."
Nathan:
"I'm guessing you found out about the fight."
Bo:
"Well yeah, it happened at my family's restaurant."
Nathan:
"I'm really sorry. I'm willing to pay for any damages and volunteer whenever Caroline needs it."
Bo:
"That's all good, but right now I need to know everything about your relationship with Eddie Saunders. What lead up to this fight?"
Nathan:
"Eddie was blackmailing me."
Bo:
"About what?"
Nathan:
"He knew that I was the last person to see Colin Murphy alive and I told him off. And told him I wish he would die."
Bo:
"What are you saying Nathan?"
Nathan gets nervous.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie and Eddie continue to kiss. Stephanie starts to pull away, but Eddie tightens his grip.
Stephanie:
"Let go of me."
She tries to say, but Eddie continues to want to kiss her. She gives him a big push to separate them.
Stephanie:
"I said stop."
Eddie:
"What's wrong baby? You don't want this?"
Eddie brushes his hands down the front of his body.
Stephanie:
"No, I want you to leave. I need time to think about this."
Eddie grabs her and throws her on the couch. She screams as he climbs on top of her.
THE BRADY PUB
Shawn and Evan walk over to Bo, Nathan, and Melanie.
Nathan:
"I didn't kill Colin. I just thought it would make me look guilty if you knew I was the last one to see him."
Bo:
"Well it does, but I don't have a reason to believe you killed Colin."
Nathan:
"So what kind of trouble am I in for this fight?"
Bo:
"It's up to my mom and Eddie on where or not they want to press charges and we're go from there. According to everyone you started it."
Nathan:
"Yes I did and I take full responsibility."
Caroline walks over.
Caroline:
"I won't press charges, but I'll take you up on the volunteer offer."
Nathan:
"I'll call you tomorrow and I'll let you know what my schedule is."
Caroline:
"That sounds good. Now I need to get back to my cookies."
Caroline walks back to the kitchen.
Bo:
"So now we just need to find Eddie."
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie struggles to get Eddie off of her. He kisses her neck as she tries to push him in his chest, hoping he would get off of her. He gets up just a little to take off his shirt. Stephanie tries to get up, but he knocks her back down. He starts to feel up her legs as she tries to scoot away. She looks up and see her vase. He starts kissing her breasts and starts to move down her stomach. She grabs her vase just as he's coming back up and knocks him in the head with it. He falls to the floor and blood starts flowing next to him. She sets up and stares at his lifeless body.
Stephanie:
"Oh my God."
She says before she covers her mouth with both hands.
