Donna stared blankly at the empty spot in the driveway where the Vista Cruiser should've been parked. Instead it was parked at the airport where Eric would soon be boarding a plane to Africa. Donna shivered. Rain was falling, and the temperature was dropping rapidly.

"Donna, dear, you can't stand out here in the rain for forever. Come inside, I made hot cocoa," a voice from behind consoled. It was Kitty, standing in the doorway to the kitchen. She looked sad, but she also looked determined. I can't let Donna get depressed. I need to mother her, unlike her real mom. She thought. She motioned Donna with her hand, and the young woman reluctantly left her spot in the driveway.

Kitty poured some cocoa out of a pot on the stove and into a mug for Donna, who had taken a seat at the kitchen table. She topped it off with whipped cream and some marshmallows, but Donna seemed unimpressed.

"Some weather for March, huh?" Kitty let out a laugh, which she tended to do when she was uncomfortable. Now was no exception.

"Eric's birthday's in March." Donna stated. She stirred the cocoa with a spoon, the whipped cream and marshmallows melting into it.

Something inside Kitty snapped, and she let out a small cry. "My baby boy is gone! I'm going to miss his birthday!" She exclaimed. Now Donna was the one comforting Kitty. She gave her hand a gentle squeeze, which Kitty appreciated.

"Why don't we turn on the TV or something to pass some time." Donna suggested, trying to alleviate the sadness both women were feeling. Donna brought Kitty into the living room and turned on the TV. The weather channel was on, the weatherman standing in front of a Wisconsin map shrouded in clouds. Donna plopped down on the couch and watched intently, slowly sipping at her drink as she watched.

"Temperatures are expected to drop into the low twenties tonight, with an expected snowfall of at least 8 inches." The weatherman announced. He pointed to the clouds, a smile on his face.

"Look Kitty, it's gonna snow!" Donna proclaimed. Kitty liked the snow. It made the house look better.

"Donna?"

"Yes?" She replied.

"Be quiet." The two women sat in silence, the tv flickering in front of them. Eventually, Kitty got up and went to start dinner. However, a knock at the door brought Kitty back into the living room. She opened the door to find Fez outside, covered in snow.

"Ai, it's snowing cats and dogs outside."

Kitty laughed, her first genuine laugh since Eric had left. "Fez, in America we say 'It's raining cats and dogs'. Not snowing."

"But Miss Kitty, look outside." Fez pointed. " It is snowing!"

"Yes Fez." She conceded. "Now come into my kitchen and drip water on the linoleum and not on my carpet. You can help me with dinner." Fez hung up his coat and followed Kitty into the kitchen.

The two worked on dinner together, with Donna occasionally coming in to top off her hot cocoa. Well, I'm glad she liked it. The phone rang, jolting Kitty out of her thoughts. She picked it up from off the wall.

"Hello?"

"Mom?" A familiar voice on the other end replied.

"Eric!" Kitty pulled the phone to her chest. "It's Eric!" She announced to the kitchen. She put the receiver back to her ear. "I thought you were supposed to be on a plane to Africa!"

Eric sighed into the phone. "Bad news, with the rain the runways froze over and now the whole airport's shut down until they can thaw them out."

"So my baby boy can stay home for a few more days!" Kitty nearly jumped for joy.

"Yeah, I can." He paused. "Look, Dad's pretty mad about all of this. He threatened to stick his foot up my ass because I wanted to borrow some change to call you. He's also still mad about… you know… earlier…"

"Sweetie, I don't care. You're going to be home!" Kitty hung up the phone.

"So, Eric's coming home?" Donna asked.

Kitty went over to Donna and hugged her. " He's going to be here in about an hour! You should stay for dinner. We have enough food for one more."

Donna gently pulled herself away from Kitty. "I don't care if he's coming home. It was hard for me to say goodbye to him once, I'm not going to do it again two days from now." She stormed out of the kitchen, not bothering to close the sliding door behind her.

Schotzie darted through the open door, shivering and soaking. Fez screamed at the sight of him.

"My other baby!" Kitty cried. Her concerns about Donna disappeared, replaced instead by concern for her freezing dog. She grabbed a dish towel from a cabinet, closed the sliding door, and plopped Schotzie onto the kitchen table.

Fez continued dinner while Kitty dried the dog off and brushed him out. Fez had just pulled the dishes out of the cabinet, and kitty had cleared the table of dog hair when she heard a car pull up in the driveway. She looked out the glass door, and saw a very angry Red yelling at Eric while he pulled luggage from the back of the Vista Cruiser.

Kitty ran outside towards her son with Fez in tow. She hugged him, hard, and only pulled away when he started squirming. Fez took the opportunity to try and hug Eric himself. Eric shoved him away.

"Fez, we discussed this. You aren't supposed to hug other guys." Eric chastised.

"Oh, Eric, I missed you very much."

"Fez, I've been gone for two hours."

"I don't care."

"Neither do I!" cheered Kitty. "Fez and I made you a great dinner." Eric seemed unimpressed.

"Um, Mom, where's Donna?" Eric asked. He wanted to talk to her.

"Eric… she doesn't want to see you. She said something about it hurting her too much." Kitty shied away from Eric, expecting him to be upset. "Come on, let's go get dinner."

Red wouldn't drop the topic. "See, this dumbass has not only attempted to leave his girlfriend for a year, but he also upset her even more by coming back." Red groaned. "I can't believe he's my son."

"Well, I see why she's upset. I just wish she would come to see me." Eric looked sad, but instead of complaining, he went inside, grabbed a plate and headed for the kitchen table.

Dinner was eaten in silence.

After dinner Eric and Fez went down to the basement. "Don't do any drugs while you're down there!" Kitty called after them.

"I wonder whose...stuff that was?" Red asked Kitty as they got ready to go to bed that night.

"I bet it was Michael's. You can't trust him with anything that you can light." said Kitty as she brushed out her hair.

"I think it was the foreigner's. He probably brought lots of that stuff with him from wherever he's from." Red added.

Kitty gasped. "What if it was Steven's? or Eric's?"

"Last time I scared those two dumbasses straight with a threat. If it was either of theirs, I'm going to find a way to stick both of my feet up both their asses at the same time."

"Yeah, I suppose you're right." Kitty agreed, putting down the hairbrush. She turned back the covers to the bed and slid in, knowing she would sleep easier that night.

"Hey, Fez?" Eric asked. "Where's Hyde?"

"He went off to Chicago to be with Jackie. He's not back yet."

"I bet they're doing it." Eric thought for a moment. "I wanna be doing it with Donna."

"Shut up." Eric started to protest, but Fez cut him off. "I am going to leave now. So good day."

"But Fez-"

"I said good day!" With that he walked out the basement door and over to Donna's. Eric sat by himself, confused.

"Fez, what are you doing here?" asked Donna. She wasn't expecting company.

"I was stuck being with your upset 'boyfriend'. Get over there now, because he's miserable. I don't care about your feelings, just do it!" The young man looked furious.

"If you expect me to go see someone who ruined my year and go and do it with him, then you should get bent." Donna replied snarkily.

"He needs someone there. Since Hyde's in Chicago, Jackie with him, and I'm done with this, you're next. Go and hang out with him. He's savoring this extra time he has here, and you're letting it go to waste!" Fez retorted.

"Wait, Hyde went to Chicago and hasn't came back? I wonder what Jackie did to him." Donna pondered.

"Donna, that's not my point. Now come on, get over to his house."

"Fine. Whatever." Fez grabbed Donna's hand and dragged her over to Eric's basement door. She opened the door to find Eric curled up on the couch in fetal position. He looked up, and a look of surprise flashed across his face.

"Donna!" he cried, throwing the blanket off of himself and running over to her. He tried to kiss her, but she put her hand up and stopped him.

"You do understand why I didn't come earlier, right?" she asked. Eric nodded. "And you know I'm going to be hurting when you leave again, right?"

"Donna, I'm not trying to hurt you." Eric started. "I love you, and I'd love to spend my extra time here with you."

Donna sighed. "Well good, because I'm cold. And I want to use some of this little time we have...warming up, if you know what I mean. Fez, leave. Now."

He ran up the basement stairs, stopping at the landing. Donna took her shoe off and threw it at him, narrowly missing. She turned back to Eric. "I'm sorry Eric, I was just upset earlier. And surprised."

"Well I'm just glad you're here." he said, and pulled her into a kiss, with Fez watching the two from his spot on the landing.
