INTRO: It's a new day in Salem. Just one last day until the Hospital Benefit.
THE PARK
Nicole's in the park on her phone with Chloe.
Nicole
"Cool so meet me at The Pub in a few for some pregnant woman bonding time."
Chloe
"Okay. Bye."
They hang up. Baker walks into the park, sees Nicole, and tries to leave, but she sees him.
Nicole
"Oh no you don't Dick, get back here."
He stops and turns around. Nicole smiles.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Chloe puts her phone down as Vivian walks into the living room.
Vivian
"Well good morning Chloe."
Chloe looks over at her.
Chloe
"Morning Vivian."
Vivian
"Pregnancy looks good on you."
Chloe
"Thank you."
Chloe walks over and pours herself some orange juice.
Vivian
"I heard you're going to sing at the Hospital Benefit."
Chloe
"Wow news travels fast."
Chloe takes a sip of her drink then turns around.
Vivian
"Why yes it does. My friend Fredrick Miller's assistant told me last week. I feel like I'm behind."
Chloe
"Last week?"
Phillip walks into the room.
Chloe
"You found out last week and you know Fredrick Miller? What does he have to do with the benefit?"
Vivian
"Well…"
Phillip rushes over.
Phillip
"That's enough Vivian. Please leave."
Vivian
"Well good morning Phillip. Must we be rude first thing?"
Phillip
"Good Morning Vivian and I said please."
Vivian
"Well if you need me I'll be in the garden. It's such a beautiful day."
Vivian starts to walk away.
Phillip
"Trust me we won't."
Vivian stops and turns around.
Vivian
"What was that?"
Phillip
"Ok bye"
Vivian stares for a moment then continues to the garden.
Chloe
"Phillip Kiriakis, I think you have some explaining to do."
Phillip smiles showing off his signature dimples.
SALEM PD
Justin rushes in. He sees Bo.
Justin
"Bo, hey"
Bo
"Justin"
Justin
"Sorry it took me so long. I'm dealing with Baker's case too, but luckily Alex is taking it over."
Bo
"Oh yeah Dr. Baker."
Justin
"I'm only doing it for Hope."
Bo
"I know."
Justin
"How's Stephanie?"
Bo
"Doing better now than last night. Adrienne's in there with her now."
Justin
"Your thoughts on this case?"
Bo
"Obvious self defense, but we still need to investigate."
Justin
"Understandable."
Roman walks up to them.
Roman
"What the hell happened?"
BO'S OFFICE
Stephanie sits quietly while Adrienne pours her some coffee.
Adrienne
"Here you go. That should wake you up."
Stephanie just stares at it. Adrienne sits down.
Adrienne
"Come on honey. Drink it. I also have some muffins from Caroline."
Stephanie
"Thanks, but I'm not hungry."
Adrienne
"Okay, well I'll leave them here in case you change your mind."
Stephanie
"Thank you aunt Adrienne for being here and bringing me some new clothes and my purse."
Adrienne
"You're welcome. Anything you need. I'm right here."
They hug briefly then Stephanie sits back down.
Adrienne
"And you can come stay with me for as long as you want."
Stephanie
"It might be for awhile. I don't think I can live at my apartment anymore."
Adrienne
"I don't blame you. As soon as you're ready, we'll go apartment hunting together."
Adrienne smiles slightly.
THE PARK
Nicole
"Are you trying to avoid me Dick?"
Baker
"No, not at all."
Nicole
"Well then why haven't you answered your phone or called me back? That hurts Dick."
Baker
"I haven't been avoiding you. I've been busy with Alex Miller, my lawyer, trying to get me out of this mess."
Nicole
"That's why I've been trying to get a hold of you. I got a way for EJ to represent you."
Baker
"How's that?"
Nicole
"You said you had something to tell me. If you tell me then I can get EJ to help you."
Baker
"There's nothing to say. Plus my trial is today and Alex has been a big help. So if you don't mind, I need to meet up with her before court."
Baker starts to walk away, but Nicole stops him.
Nicole
"You're lying."
Baker turns around.
Baker
"The last thing I need to do is get wrapped back up in whatever scheme you have cooking."
Nicole
"Like you're some sort of saint. Whatever goodbye Dick."
Baker watches as Nicole storms off. Dr. Jason Walters up behind Baker.
Jason
"Now what was that all about?"
Baker turns around and gives him a dirty look.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Chloe
"Don't flash your dimples at me Kiriakis."
Phillip
"What? I'm not. They just show up."
Chloe
"You already told Fredrick Miller that I was going to sing at the benefit before I even agreed. Not to mention you didn't mention that he was going to be there."
Phillip
"I'm sorry. Getting you to sing at the benefit was the only way to get him to come. He wanted to hear you sing. He wants to work with you."
Chloe
"Really?"
Phillip
"Yes and I didn't want to tell you because I was afraid you'd get all nervous since you haven't sung in awhile and well you're a fan of his or whatever."
Chloe
"Yeah he's a great producer and I can't believe that he wants to work with me."
Phillip
"And why not? You're an amazing singer."
Chloe blushes.
Chloe
"Stop it."
Phillip
"It's true."
Chloe smiles.
Phillip
"So are you still mad at me?"
Chloe
"No I'm not. I can't ever seem to stay mad at you for long."
Phillip
"Good to know I haven't lost my charm."
Chloe
"Nope you haven't."
Phillip
"So what's for breakfast. What does the baby want?"
Chloe
"I don't know. I haven't really had any cravings yet."
Phillip
"Well whatever you want, cook will make for you. I gotta go to a meeting. I'll check in with you later."
Chloe
"Okay"
Phillip kisses Chloe on the cheek. Chloe's surprised. Phillip smiles.
Phillip
"Bye"
Phillip rubs Chloe's belly before leaving. Chloe smiles slightly and rubs her belly.
KIRIAKIS MANSION: GARDEN
Outside, Vivian is smelling the roses when Gus walks up to her.
Gus
"Madam"
Vivian turns around.
Vivian
"Gus, finally you've made your way back to Salem."
Gus
"Yes I have and I have some news for you."
Vivian
"Please tell me that you found Nikolas."
Gus
"No I did not."
Vivian
"Well then what is the news?"
Gus
"I know what he's been up to."
Vivian
"What?"
Gus
"He's apparently looking for a young girl."
Vivian
"Oh no. Don't tell me he found out about her."
Gus
"Who Madam?"
Vivian worries.
SALEM PD
Bo
"Stephanie was attacked last night and defending herself, she ended up killing her attacker."
Roman
"No way. How the hell did this happen?"
Bo
"I don't know. I'm about to question her now with Justin."
Roman
"I wanna be in there also."
Bo
"Let's go."
Bo, Roman, and Justin walk into Bo's office. Adrienne and Stephanie look up at them.
Justin
"Stephanie, I'll be representing you. Bo wants to ask you questions about last night."
Stephanie
"Okay."
Bo
"Stephanie, what happened between you Eddie?"
Stephanie
"We went back to my place after his fight with Nathan at the Pub. We were talking then he kissed me."
Stephanie flashes back to Eddie throwing her on the couch then quickly comes back.
Adrienne
"Oh my gosh. He raped you?"
Roman
"That bastard. He's lucky he's dead."
Stephanie
"No he didn't rape me. He tried, but that's when I hit him over the head with my lamp."
Bo
"Then what happened?"
Stephanie
"I freaked out. That's when I ran out of the apartment and I ran into Officer Parker. I didn't mean to kill him."
They're interrupted by Natasha.
Natasha
"That's what they all say."
Everyone focuses their attention on Natasha.
Bo
"Natasha, can I speak to you for a moment?"
Natasha
"Sure make it fast."
Bo and Natasha step out of the office.
Justin
"Excuse me."
Justin gets up and follows Bo and Natasha out.
Bo
"This is obviously self defense."
Natasha
"Of course she's your niece, right?"
Bo
"Yes she is…"
Natasha
"That explains it all."
Bo
"He tried to rape her. She was just defending herself."
Justin walks up to Bo and Natasha.
Justin
"You bring this to court and the judge would throw it out."
Natasha
"I'm sure they would."
Bo
"So, what do you want to do?"
Natasha pauses.
Natasha
"Let her go for now. Now would you excuse me, I have a court hearing to get ready for. See you in court Kiriakis."
Natasha walks away.
Justin
"She can bring up any charge she wants, but Stephanie doesn't have a record so there's no problem here."
Bo
"Not a record, but an issue could come up."
Justin
"What issue?"
Bo
"Ford Decker."
THE PARK
Baker
"None of your business."
Baker tries to walk away, but Jason stops him.
Jason
"You're not going anywhere Baker until I deliver a message from The Boss."
Baker stops and walks back to Jason.
Baker
"What does The Boss want now?"
Jason
"He's pissed thanks to your outburst yesterday."
Baker crosses his arms.
Jason
"Telling Samantha Brady and Lucas Horton about Sydney DiMera being Nicole's biological daughter. Are you crazy? Or just stupid? Probably both. You know how hard The Boss has worked to keep this a secret and you blow it in 2 seconds?"
Baker
"The truth needs to come out."
Jason
"No it doesn't."
Baker
"And why not?"
Jason
"Because The Boss said so."
Baker
"Well I'm done doing what The Boss says. I'll probably end up in jail because I was following orders."
Jason
"You've never followed orders from The Boss. The Boss didn't tell you to give Nicole her baby back."
Baker
"She thought Sydney was Sami's."
Jason
"Now Sami knows that Sydney's not hers."
Baker
"They put the pressure on me. What was I supposed to do?"
Jason
"Contact The Boss."
Baker
"It all happened so fast."
Jason
"Well now your court hearing is the least of your problems."
Baker
"Let me guess. I could end up like Colin Murphy."
Jason
"You bet ya. I enjoyed injecting his IV and watching him slip away."
Baker
"And you signed up to save lives."
Jason smiles.
Baker
"Well it doesn't matter because I don't have anything to live for anyways."
A balls rolls next to Baker's feet. Jason and Baker stare at it. Hope and Ciara rush over to get it.
Ciara
"Found it."
Hope
"I'm sorry."
Baker smiles.
Baker
"It's fine."
Ciara picks up the ball.
Ciara
"I'm going back to play with Theo."
Hope
"Ok honey."
Ciara rushes off.
Hope
"I'll leave you two alone."
Hope walks away.
Jason
"Looks like you do have something to live for."
Jason walks away. Baker watches him leave then looks over at Hope.
Baker
"Maybe so."
KIRIAKIS MANSION: GARDEN
Vivian
"I don't know her name, but Lawrence was always adamant that Nicholas never meet her."
Gus
"Why not?"
Vivian
"He never went into details, but he never wanted them to meet."
Gus
"Who is she?"
Vivian
"His daughter."
Gus is shocked.
SALEM PD
Bo just got finished telling Justin the story about Ford Decker.
Justin
"Wow. That creepy little bastard."
Bo
"Yeah. No charges were filed, but who knows. Natasha could find out about this."
Justin
"I will have to think of a strategy if she does."
Bo
"Me too."
Nicole walks in unbeknownst to Bo and Justin.
Justin
"First Ford Decker now this guy."
Nicole
"So this is what happens at the police station? You talk about household appliances instead of finding who ran me over."
Bo rolls his eyes.
