223. Unprepared
They hadn't been quite prepared
for their first child: that hurricane
that blew into their lives
before they'd quite learnt
parenthood.
And he was a wild child
for their first: loud, always getting
into trouble, blowing the world around
But they loved that little unpredictable
bundle they hadn't been quite prepared
for anyway; they loved him
with all their hearts
And they would learn, slowly,
how they were supposed to raise
their child.
(It was okay anyway
because even if they didn't know
they were doing it right
just like all first time parents
did.)
