Just as Stephanie is about to walk up to Nicole, she notices Nathan standing outside. Stephanie freezes and stares at him. She flashes back to what Eddie told her then comes back. She looks at Nicole again then rushes out just as Chloe is coming in. Chloe looks at Stephanie as she rushes past her then walks over to Chloe.
Nicole
"Finally, you're here"
Chloe
"Sorry. I couldn't find anything that would fit right."
Nicole
"Me neither. We need to go shopping."
Chloe
"I agree. For us and the babies."
Nicole
"Yes our Kiriakis' babies"
Chloe
"So you know for sure Brady is the father?"
Arianna interrupts.
Arianna
"No she doesn't and Chloe, you should encourage your friend to stay away from my husband."
OUTSIDE THE PUB
Nathan
"Hey Stephanie. Are you okay?"
Stephanie
"No, no I'm not okay Nathan."
Nathan
"What's wrong?"
Stephanie
"You."
Nathan
"Me? What did I do? Is this about last night?"
Stephanie
"Yes and another night as well."
Nathan seem confused. Stephanie notices.
Stephanie
"You look confused."
Nathan
"I am very confused. What other night are you referring to?"
Stephanie clinches her purse.
Stephanie
"You'll see."
She says with a smile on her face then walks away. Nathan follows her.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ paces around the living as he makes a call to his informant about Chad.
EJ
"Have you found anything about this Chad Peterson Woods?"
Phillip walks in.
Phillip
"Why do you want to find out about Chad?"
EJ turns around and smiles.
THE COURTHOUSE
Alex is in the courtroom looking over some papers when Justin walks in.
Justin
"Hey. Alex I'm sorry I'm late. I was at the station then I had to pick up Phillip and Melanie's divorce papers and…"
Alex smiles.
Alex
"It's fine. I got everything in order. We're just waiting for Baker to show up."
Baker walks into the courtroom with Hope.
Baker
"I am here."
Alex and Justin look at them and are surprised.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Stephanie opens her door. She stands in the doorway and sees the crime tape and the broken lamp on the floor as well as Eddie's blood. She flashes back to hitting Eddie over the head with her lamp. She comes back as Nathan walks up behind her.
Nathan
"What happened here?"
Stephanie turns around.
Stephanie
"This is all your fault."
Nathan's shocked.
THE PUB
Nicole
"Go away."
Arianna smiles she walks away.
Nicole
"The nerve to interrupting our private conversation"
Chloe
"Well she's right you know."
Nicole
"Who's friend are you?"
Chloe
"Brady is married now. You should go after someone that's more avaliable."
Nicole
"Like who?"
Chloe
"Like EJ."
DIMERA MANSION
EJ
"Call me later when you find something."
EJ hangs up his phone.
EJ
"So you just burst into people's houses now."
Phillip
"No. Harold let me in. And besides, my mom lives here and she said I can come over whenever I want."
EJ walks over to pour himself a drink.
EJ
"Well I guess that's something I'm going to have to talk to mommy about. Drink?"
Phillip
"Sure why not."
Phillip walks over to get a drink from EJ.
Phillip
"So are you going to tell me why you're interested in Chad Peterson Woods?"
He takes a sip. EJ smiles.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Nathan
"My fault? How? What happened?"
Stephanie walks into her apartment.
Stephanie
"Why don't you come in and I'll explain."
Nathan walks in slowly and closes the door.
Nathan
"What happened? Please tell me."
Stephanie
"Oh so you care now?"
Nathan
"Care now? What? About you?"
Stephanie
"Yes, yes about me."
Nathan
"Of course I do. Things might be screwed up between us, but I never stopped caring about you."
Stephanie flashes back to what Eddie said to her about Nathan.
Stephanie:
"Why are you laughing?"
Eddie:
"Because you think Nathan cares about you."
Stephanie:
"What makes you think he doesn't? Why else would he not like that we're hanging out?"
Eddie:
"Because he loves that Melanie chick too much. I mean if you know what he has done to keep her out of jail."
Stephanie:
"What did Nathan do?"
Eddie:
"Melanie is the one that ran down that DiMera chick and I helped cover it up."
Stephanie is shocked. Eddie starts laughing.
Eddie:
"And you know the funniest part about this is? You're the bargaining chip to keep me silent."
Stephanie gets upset.
Stephanie comes back.
Stephanie
"You don't care about me. You care only care about Melanie and keeping her out of trouble and I know all about it."
Nathan
"Know about what?"
Stephanie
"That Melanie is the one that ran over Nicole."
Nathan gets nervous.
THE PUB
Nicole
"What? EJ? Why?"
Chloe
"Because you obviously still have feelings for him. You guys slept together"
Nicole
"I do not. I have zero feelings for EJ in that way. Hate yes, but love? No. If that's the case. Then you still have feelings for Phillip."
Chloe
"I don't. Friendship yes but that's all."
Nicole
"Why not? Phillip is single, hot, rich, and come on don't tell me you haven't thought about what it would feel like to be Mrs. Phillip Kiriakis."
Chloe smiles.
Nicole
"I'll take that smile as a yes."
Chloe
"Once upon but not anymore."
Nicole
"Why not? You finally have Phillip all to yourself and the perfect in. You're carrying his baby. I mean there's a reason why you got knocked up."
Chloe
"Yes. We got drunk and had unprotected sex. And I just so happened to be ovulating."
Nicole
"Yeah, yeah."
Chloe
"Nicole, we're just two friends having a baby."
Nicole
"You say that now but you two are living together. Soon you'll be going the doctors together. Looking at your baby on the little monitor thingy and the next thing you know, you're back in bed with each other. Then you're married."
Chloe
"Phillip and I will never get married."
Nicole
"Never say never."
Nicole takes a sip of her tea. Chloe smiles a little.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ
"I don't think it's any of your business. Why are you here anyways?"
Phillip
"You didn't come to the board meeting again. So I thought I would come over and catch you up."
EJ
"Catch me up? I believe I'm caught up. The masquerade ball or whatever is tomorrow night. I have my tickets, I have my tuxedo neatly pressed, my date, and my checkbook."
Phillip
"Let me guess, your date is Nicole?"
EJ
"Well of course. I would like to take my, how do you Americans say, baby momma out for a night."
Phillip giggles.
EJ
"I'm guessing your date will be Chloe."
Phillip
"Yes she will be and she will be performing."
EJ
"Ah a number by Chloe Lane. Sounds amazing."
Phillip
"It will be."
Phillip smiles as he takes another sip from his glass.
THE COURTHOUSE
Justin
"Hope, I didn't know you were going to be here."
Hope
"I wanted to be here to support Baker."
Alex stands up and walks over to them.
Alex
"Well welcome come on in."
Hope
"So how does the case look for Baker?"
Justin
"Pretty good actually."
Alex
"We believe that there's not enough evidence to convict Baker of any wrong doing except with the muggings, but I feel we can get him a really nice deal. Maybe even avoiding jail time."
Hope
"That's great."
Baker
"I have the best lawyers. All thanks to you."
Hope
"You don't have to thank me."
Justin
"Oh yes he does. I won't have taken this case unless you asked me."
Baker
"I feel the love."
Hope
"Thank you Justin."
Justin
"Well if you excuse me. I have a call to make."
Hope
"Of course."
Justin walks away and calls Phillip.
DIMERA MANSION
Phillip's phone rings. He pulls it out of his pocket then looks at EJ.
Phillip
"Excuse me."
EJ
"Of course."
EJ takes a sip of his drink as Phillip answers his phone.
Phillip
"Hello."
Justin
"Hey Phillip, do you have time to come down to the courthouse?"
Phillip
"Uh, sure. Is everything okay?"
Justin
"Yeah, everything's fine. I just have your divorce papers ready and I know you wanted them ASAP."
Phillip looks down.
Phillip
"Yes I did. I'll be right there."
Phillip and Justin hang up.
EJ
"Oh you have to go so soon?"
Phillip puts his phone back into his pocket.
Phillip
"Yeah I know, you'll miss me."
EJ
"You know me so well."
Phillip
"But before I go, I have to issue you a warning."
EJ
"About what?"
Phillip
"Nicole."
EJ
"Yes, I already know she's a scheming one."
Phillip
"Not that. You already have experience with that."
EJ
"Unfortunately."
Phillip
"You better not hurt her. Nicole's a good friend."
EJ
"After trying to kill your father?"
Phillip
"That's old news. Besides my father is alive and healthy and hating everyone as usual."
EJ
"You don't have to worry. I won't hurt your innocent little friend Nicole."
Phillip
"Thank you."
Phillip places the glass on the table then walks out.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Nathan
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Stephanie
"Eddie told me everything."
Nathan
"You can't believe anything that he says."
Stephanie
"I have proof. I have the video that clearly shows Melanie running Nicole and her unborn baby over."
Nathan panics.
Stephanie
"And you used Eddie to cover it up. And I was the bargaining chip to keep him quiet."
Nathan
"You were never a bargaining chip."
Stephanie
"So what was I? Did you know what he tried to do to me?"
Stephanie gets in Nathan's face.
Nathan
"What?"
Stephanie begins to cry.
Stephanie
"He tried to…he tried to rape me. Right here. Right here on this couch."
She yells as she points to the couch. Nathan's eyes widen.
Nathan
"Stephanie, I'm so…"
Stephanie interrupts.
Stephanie
"…sorry? You're going to be. You're going to be sorry you ever crossed me."
Nathan's surprised.
Nathan
"What does that mean? You're going to turn me and Melanie in? or is Eddie already at the station ratting me out?"
Stephanie
"Eddie's dead."
Nathan's shocked.
Nathan
"What? What happened?"
Stephanie
"I killed him."
She says like it was nothing.
THE COURTHOUSE
Outside the courthouse, Natasha and Rafe run into each other.
Rafe & Natasha
"I'm so sorry."
They look at each other.
Rafe & Natasha
"You!"
Natasha
"I'll take that back. I'm not sorry."
Rafe
"I take back my sorry as well."
Natasha
"Whatever."
Rafe starts to walk away, but Natasha stops him.
Natasha
"I hope you're prepared for this hearing or else you'll have to pull that sorry back out."
Rafe turns around.
Rafe
"Don't worry about it. I have this covered."
Natasha
"You better Agent Hernandez or I'll have your badge."
Natasha smiles as she walks past him. Rafe sighs.
THE PUB
Chloe
"Let's change the subject."
Nicole
"To what?"
Chloe
"You."
Nicole
"We already talked about me."
Chloe
"Yeah then you changed the subject to me."
Nicole
"Ok what about me?"
Chloe
"Do you see yourself getting back together with EJ?"
Nicole
"No, no I don't."
Chloe
"Why not?"
Nicole
"Because of everything that happened. Plus he never loved me anyways."
Chloe
"I think EJ did love you."
Nicole
"Yeah right."
Chloe
"I saw you two together. The way he looked at you. That was love."
Nicole
"He only loved that I was Sydney's mother, but I'm not so it's over. And he's only putting up with me because I'm pregnant and the baby maybe his."
Chloe
"I think there's more to it than just Sydney and there's more to it than just this baby."
Nicole
"Well search all you want to. It's not there Chloe."
Chloe
"I think it is. And if you wanted EJ, I'm sure you could get him. You are Nicole Walker, aren't you?"
Nicole
"Yes, but I don't want EJ. I want Brady."
Arianna walks pass.
Arianna
"Brady's unavailable."
Nicole
"Shut up, gosh."
Nicole makes an angry face.
Chloe
"She's right though."
Nicole
"Who's friend are you again?"
Chloe
"Yours, that's why I'm telling you the truth."
Nicole
"Fine, I'll leave Brady alone."
Arianna walks pass again.
Arianna
"Thank you."
Nicole
"Does she really need to walk pass her all the time? Gosh."
Chloe chuckles. Nicole gives Chloe a little evil look.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Nathan
"You're joking right?"
Stephanie
"He attacked me and I was defending myself."
Nathan
"And you got off?"
Stephanie
"Yes. It's that easy, but you and Melanie will not be so lucky."
Stephanie wipes her tears.
Stephanie
"Now what should I do? Give this to the police or give this to the DiMeras? Decisions, Decisions."
Nathan
"Come on Stephanie. You know what the DiMeras are capable of."
Stephanie
"Oh yes. They've tortured my family for years. I've seen some things. It'll be nice to see what they would do to someone I don't care anything about."
Nathan
"Just turn it over to the police and we'll take our chances."
Stephanie turns around and sees something sticking out of the couch. She flashes back.
Eddie:
"The truth hurts. I know. I have proof by the way."
Eddie pulls a key out of his pocket.
Stephanie:
"What's that?"
Eddie:
"A key to my safe deposit box. It has everything in there you need to know what kind of person Dr. Nathan Horton really is."
She comes back and turns around to face Nathan again.
Stephanie
"After all this trouble to keep it a secret you just want to give it all up? Oh no let's not let Eddie's death be in vain. Let's keep the cover up going."
Stephanie smiles.
Nathan
"Really?"
Stephanie
"Yes. How about I'll keep quiet about the hit and run and well you being the last person to see Colin Murphy alive and all the nasty things you said about him. You wouldn't want my Uncle Bo to hear all of that."
Nathan
"Bo already knows about that."
Stephanie
"I'm sure you told him what you said also."
Stephanie laughs.
THE COURTHOUSE
Inside the courtroom, Baker and Hope talk.
Baker
"I'm sorry, I'm causing problems between you and Justin."
Hope
"It's fine. Justin just…"
Baker
"Doesn't like me."
Hope
"He's just been protective. But it doesn't matter. I still want to be here for you."
Baker
"Why?"
Hope
"Because I feel responsible for you getting into this mess."
Baker
"I'm not just here about the muggings, but also about my baby broker business that I was running. I'm not a good person Hope, but you are. You shouldn't be associated with me."
Hope
"I'm not a good person. And we all make mistakes. Doesn't mean we should be treated any different. That's why I'm here."
Hope holds Baker's hand. Baker looks down at their hands touching then back to Hope and smiles. Justin frowns in the corner as he watches Baker and Hope getting close. Phillip walks in and see.
Phillip
"What's going on there?"
Justin looks at Phillip.
Justin
"Baker, trying to work his charm on Hope. It won't work. She'll figure out what he's all about soon enough. Hopefully by then it's not too late."
Phillip
"Hopefully."
Justin opens his briefcase and hands Phillip his divorce papers.
Justin
"Here you go."
Phillip takes the papers from Justin's hands.
Phillip
"Thank you."
Justin
"I'm sorry things didn't work out between you and Melanie."
Phillip
"Thanks, but it wasn't meant to be. She wants Nathan and I…I don't know."
Justin
"Do you want Chloe?"
Phillip pauses. Alex interrupts.
Alex
"Courts about to start."
Justin
"Okay I'll be right there."
Phillip
"We'll talk later. I got to get these to Melanie."
Justin
"Okay. Yeah later."
Justin walks with Alex into the courtroom. Phillip has a flashback of Chloe smiling then comes back. He smiles then walks away.
THE PUB
Nicole
"Well I need to get going to my doctor's appointment."
Nicole and Chloe stand up and hug.
Chloe
"Have fun."
Nicole
"I will. I get to see the baby."
Chloe
"Aww..."
Nicole
"When's your appointment?"
Chloe
"Next week."
Nicole
"Cool. We need to have a shopping day."
Chloe
"Yes we do."
Nicole
"See ya."
Chloe
"See ya."
Chloe waves as Nicole leaves The Pub.
STEPHANIE'S APARTMENT
Nathan
"Wow, you've changed."
Stephanie
"I can say the same for you."
Nathan looks away.
Stephanie
"So you're going to go to Melanie and break things off with her or my Uncle Bo gets this tape plus all the other evidence that Eddie has on you in his safe deposit box. Not only would you 2 go to jail, but still will have to deal with the DiMeras."
Nathan stares madly at Stephanie.
Stephanie
"Paybacks are a bitch, aren't they Nathan?"
Nathan
"Yeah, I'm looking right at one."
Stephanie puts her hands on her chest.
Stephanie
"Wow, that really hurt my feelings."
She drops them then points to the door.
Stephanie
"The choice is yours. Now get out."
Nathan shakes his head in disgust then leaves slamming the door behind him. Stephanie laughs then walks over to her couch and picks up the key and stares at it.
Stephanie
"Revenge will be mine."
DIMERA MANSION
EJ's back on his phone talking to his informant about Chad.
EJ
"So what did you find out about Chad? Really? That's it? Yes I do know he's a teenage boy. Fine, I'll talk to him myself."
EJ hangs up and slams his phone on the table. He picks up his glass and notices it's almost empty so he fills it back up then takes a big gulp.
EJ
"Chad DiMera? That doesn't even sound right."
EJ says to himself. He puts his glass on the table.
EJ
"He can't be my son. He just can't be."
EJ grabs his phone and leaves the mansion.
