227. Starting Over

The new leaf had been turned, but the old rotten skin
still clung to him underneath.

It was time to move on
he knew, he had to do it:
cast that old skin off.

Not redemption: redemption's way was such a
noble thing, that nobility the coiled snake lacked.
Instead, he needed to rip the rotting life
that clung to him from his hands.
