It's a new day in Salem. The masquerade hospital benefit is just hours away. Phillip and Chloe are having breakfast at The Pub. Phillip has been getting nonstop phone calls about the benefit interrupting their breakfast.
Phillip
"Ok great. See you tonight. Bye"
Phillip hangs up. He looks over at Chloe who's drinking some tea.
Phillip
"I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you had in mind for breakfast."
Chloe
"I'm enjoying mine. Yours? Well I'm sure it's pretty cold."
Phillip
"Yeah well that's fine. I'll just have cold bacon and eggs."
Chloe
"I would share mine but...um..."
They look at her plate then back at each other.
Phillip
"You ate it all almost."
Chloe
"I'm eating for 2."
Phillip
"Yeah yeah. What's your excuse a few months ago when we had breakfast and you cleared the plate?"
Chloe tries not to laugh.
Chloe
"I was eating for 2 then too but just didn't know it."
Phillip
"Whatever"
They both laugh.
Lucas is sitting at a table close by and eyes the two. Will coming down the stairs catches his attention. Will quickly tried to exit The Pub unnoticed, but Lucas quickly moves towards the door to stop him.
Lucas
"Oh no you don't. No more avoiding me. Take a seat."
Will grunts but walks over to Lucas' table and sits. Lucas follows.
Lucas
"So what's this about you being rude to your grandma and mother?"
Will
"I wasn't being rude. They were all in my business."
Lucas
"They have a right to be all up in your business. They care about you and can see that your relationship with Mia needs to end."
Will
"I'm not going to dump Mia. No way. If you guys don't like it, then tough luck."
Lucas
"No tough luck. Your mother told you to stay away from her. You're going to listen."
Will
"Grandma Kate didn't like you with mom but you still stayed with her."
Lucas
"That was different."
Will
"How?"
Lucas
"We were adults and you're still a kid."
Will
"You weren't adults when you guys had me."
Lucas
"We weren't dating then. We..."
Lucas pauses.
Lucas
"Look, just stay away from Mia ok? She's trouble and I, your mom, or Grandma Kate wants to see you get hurt. You almost died at the hospital with Colin Murphy shooting at everyone.
Will
"But I didn't and Colin's dead. So I'm not in danger anymore. And I'm not breaking up with Mia. So mom and Grandma Kate will just have to deal."
Lucas takes a deep breath.
Lucas
"Ok fine. Date Mia but if she puts your life in danger again, then it's over. You got it?"
Will
"Ok whatever."
Lucas
"Close enough. Anyways, have some breakfast with your father."
Will
"Ok whatever."
Will picks up a menu.
Lucas
"Is that going to be your only responds?"
Will
"Maybe."
Lucas shakes his head and drinks some coffee. Joy walks into The Pub with a dress bag in her hands. She sees Phillip and Chloe and walks over to them.
Joy
"Hey guys."
They look up at her.
Chloe
"Joy, hey I didn't know you were back."
Joy
"I just got back last night. Mom and dad went to Chicago but I wanted to come here so I can go to the benefit tonight and hear you sing."
Chloe
"Thank you. Glad you're coming."
Joy
"Yeah I wanna stay in Salem to be there for you and the baby. The only thing is I don't any kids in town."
Phillip
"Yes you do."
Joy
"Who?"
Phillip looks over at Lucas and Will.
Phillip
"My nephew Will."
Chloe
"Yeah. Will's a great kid. The only problem with him is that Sami Brady is his mother, but we're not going to hold that against him."
Phillip chuckles.
Phillip
"I'll talk to Will for you."
Phillip gets up and walks over to Lucas and Will. Joy sits in Phillip's seat.
Chloe
"So is that your dress you're wearing tonight?"
Joy
"Yep."
Chloe
"Can I see?"
Joy
"Nope, you'll just have to wait and see it."
Chloe
"What? Not even a peak?"
Joy
"Nope."
Joy smiles.
Phillip
"Hey guys. Hope I'm not interrupting."
Will
"Nope, this is great. Now you can have breakfast with him and I can leave."
Will gets up.
Lucas
"You're not going anywhere, sit down."
Phillip
"I'm actually here to talk to you Will."
Will
"Oh great. You're here to tell me to break up with Mia too?"
Phillip
"What? No. I need you to do me a favor."
Will
"Me? What is it?"
Phillip
"I need you to help Chloe's sister Joy adapts to life at Salem High. Just let her hang out with you and your friends."
Will
"No way."
Lucas
"Why not?"
Will
"After what she did to you."
Will tells Lucas then looks at Phillip.
Will
"And you. Getting pregnant and ruining your marriage to Melanie."
Lucas
"I'm over what happened between Chloe and me."
Phillip
"And Chloe isn't the reason why Melanie and I divorced. It's so many other things that I'm not going to get into. Joy's a really nice girl. I think you'll like her."
Will
"I doubt it, but when do I meet her?"
Phillip
"Right now. She's here."
Will turns around and sees Joy laughing while chatting with Chloe.
Will
"Wow, she's beautiful."
Lucas smirks.
Lucas
"Why don't you go and say hi?"
Will
"I will."
Will walks over to Chloe and Joy.
Chloe
"Hey Will."
Will
"Hi."
He smiles at Joy.
Chloe
"This is my little sister, Joy. Joy, this is Will Horton."
Joy holds out her hand for him to shake.
Joy
"Nice to meet you."
Will holds out his hand and they shake.
Will
"Nice to meet you too."
He says with a big smile on his face just as Mia is walking downstairs. She stops and gives them the evil eye without them noticing, but Lucas and Phillip see her.
Lucas
"Uh oh. I know that face."
Phillip
"Yep Mia's jealous."
Lucas
"Let's see how this plays out."
Phillip takes a seat. Mia gets rid of the evil eye and walks over to Will and Joy.
Mia
"Hey guys."
They all look at her. Will let's go of Joy's hand.
Will
"Hey Mia."
Mia
"What's going on here and who's this?"
Will
"This is Joy, Chloe's sister."
Joy
"Hi."
Mia
"Hi. I'm Mia, I'm Will's girlfriend."
Joy
"Nice to meet you."
Mia cuts Joy off.
Mia
"Oh and Chloe don't you look so glowy this morning. All fat and pregnant."
Chloe
"Uh thanks?"
Mia
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. So Will, want to go dress shopping with me for the benefit?"
Will
"Sure. Joy, do you want to come?"
Joy
"I already have a dress."
Mia
"Oh how sad. I was hoping you would join us. Oh well. Let's go Will."
Will
"Okay. Later Joy."
Joy
"Later."
Mia grabs his hand and they leave The Pub.
Joy
"Well that was interesting."
Chloe
"Very."
Phillip and Lucas laugh.
Lucas
"Well that was interesting."
Phillip
"Very."
Outside The Pub, Mia and Will have a chat.
Will
"Why did you do that? That was kinda rude."
Mia
"Rude? Did you see the googly eyes she was giving you? Even worse, the way you were looking at her."
Will
"I was not."
Mia
"Yes you were and you're lucky I didn't punch her in her face."
Will giggles.
Mia
"What's so funny?"
Will
"You were acting all jealous."
Mia
"What's so funny about that?"
Will
"I think it's cute and you're cute when you're mad."
Mia
"Well you keep looking at Joy and I'll show you how cute I can be."
Will
"I don't like Joy. I like you. My uncle Philip just wants me to help her adjust to Salem."
Mia
"And you're going to do it?"
Will
"I have no choice, but I'm sure she'll make friends soon and I won't have do this for long. So you can either do it with me or I'm gonna be hanging out with Joy by myself."
Mia
"Hell no. You're not going to be hanging with Joy by yourself."
Will
"Ok then we are Joy Wesley's welcome party."
Mia
"Yay."
Will smiles.
Will
"You're my girl and nothing will change that. Not my mom, not my Grandma Kate, nor my dad. And especially not some other girl."
Mia smiles then Will pulls her into a kiss. Across Salem, Sami is cleaning up the mess Johnny, Allie, and Sydney made while eating breakfast when Rafe comes in after a run.
Rafe
"Hey Sami. Wow, it looks like a tornado came in here."
Sami
"Yeah I thought I felt some wind when Sydney tossed her bowl of eggs at Johnny's head."
Rafe
"Ouch, is he ok?"
Sami
"Yeah it was one of the plastic ones. Remind me to only put her food in plastic bowls."
Rafe
"Got it. Sydney + eating = only plastic."
Sami chuckles.
Sami
"How was your run?"
Rafe
"Great and guess what I saw?"
Sami
"Some hot woman wearing yoga pants?"
Rafe
"Yes, but I didn't look for long and that's not what I'm talking about."
Sami throws a towel at Rafe. He laughs.
Sami
"Okay what?"
Rafe
"Those condos are now available if you want to go check them out."
Sami
"Why would I?"
Rafe
"I thought that maybe we could get one and move in there?"
Sami
"Why would we move there? Anywhere?"
Rafe
"What do you mean? Don't you want to have our own place again?"
Sami
"No."
Rafe
"Why not?"
Before Sami could answer, Lucas walks in. Sami watches as he walks in. Rafe turns around.
Lucas
"Did I interrupt something?"
Rafe
"No, I was just telling Sami about the new condos that just opened up."
Lucas
"I just drove pass those. They're nice."
Rafe
"That's what I was saying. I also suggested we take a look at them and maybe even move in, but Sami said no."
Lucas
"Why?"
Rafe
"I don't know. I was waiting for an answer."
Rafe and Lucas look at Sami.
Sami
"Well I think it's not a good time to move. I mean with everything that happened with EJ and the custody hearing coming up. I think it's just best that we all stay here until everything is sorted out. Don't you agree Lucas?"
Rafe looks at Lucas who looks confused. Sami gives him the back me up look on this look.
Lucas
"Sure, stay as long as you want."
Rafe looks back at Sami.
Sami
"See."
Rafe
"I'm going to take a shower."
Sami
"Ok great."
Sami and Lucas wait until Rafe goes upstairs to talk.
Lucas
"What was that all about?"
Sami
"What?"
Lucas
"Why don't you want to move?"
Sami
"It's like I said."
Lucas
"I'm not Rafe, tell me the truth."
Sami
"Lucas, I need you."
Lucas is surprised. Back at The Pub, Joy and Chloe continue to chat.
Joy
"So what are you going to sing tonight?"
Chloe
"It's a secret."
Joy
"What? Really? Is it because I won't let you see my dress?"
Chloe
"Exactly."
Joy
"Ugh, you suck."
Chloe
"Whatever."
Phillip walks over.
Joy
"Well I better get going. I have a nail appointment."
Joy and Chloe stand up.
Chloe
"And I have a hair appointment, but later, you should come to the mansion so we can get dressed together."
Joy
"Only if you teach me how to get that smokey eye look."
Chloe
"Sure, but it has to be between us."
Joy
"Deal."
They shake on it.
Joy
"Bye Phillip."
Phillip
"Bye Joy."
Chloe turns to Phillip.
Chloe
"Well sorry to eat and run, but I have to get to my hair appointment."
Phillip
"Why do you need to get your hair done? It looks fine."
Chloe
"Because I wanna."
Chloe waves goodbye. Phillip turns to the table and notices Chloe left her purse. He picks it up.
Phillip
"Chloe, you forgot your..."
Just as he turns around, Chloe walks up to him. They bump into each other. Phillip wraps his arms around her waist as Chloe stumbles towards him...
Phillip
"...purse."
They stare at one another as their bodies touch. Daniel walks into The Pub and sees them together.
