At The Pub, standing face to face. Just as they're about to kiss, Daniel interrupts.
Daniel
"Hey guys."
They move away from each other.
Daniel
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
Chloe
"No, no you're not. I gotta go."
Phillip hands Chloe her purse and she rushes out of The Pub. Phillip takes a deep breath.
Daniel
"What was that all about?"
Phillip
"What the hell do you want?"
Daniel
"Oh touchy."
Daniel smiles.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ walks downstairs is about to get himself some breakfast when someone rings the doorbell. He turns around and walks to the door to answer. It's man with an envelope in hand.
Man
"EJ DiMera?"
EJ
"Yes. Is there something I can assist you with?"
The man hands the envelope to EJ.
Man
"You've been served."
He says then walks away quickly.
EJ slams the door and walks into the living room as he opens the envelope. It's a summons to appear in family court.
EJ
"That bitch."
He continues to read.
EJ
"She wants full custody? Over my dead body. She's not getting full custody of my kids. I will fight for my kids."
EJ looks at the sonogram of Nicole's baby. Kate interrupts.
Kate
"Is Chad included?"
EJ turns to Kate as she walks into the room.
EJ
"Again with this Chad stuff."
Kate
"Well he is your son and you said you will fight for your kids. And since he's your son that means he's one of your kids."
EJ
"I'm not having this conversation with you."
Kate
"Then who? Why can't you just accept that Chad is your son?"
EJ
"I have one son and his name is Johnny. I have a daughter named Sydney. I might have another son or daughter on the way."
Kate sees the sonogram.
Kate
"So you care about Johnny and Sydney of course I get that, but Nicole's baby? I mean you don't even know if you're the father."
EJ
"Will you just go away? Don't you have some sort of appointment you need to go to or a shopping trip before the benefit tonight?"
Nicole walks downstairs rubbing her belly and talking to her baby.
Nicole
"Let's get something to eat. I'm starving."
She gets to the bottom of the stairs and hears EJ and Kate talking. She decides to eavesdrop.
Kate
"Yes I do, but before I go. I have to say one last thing."
EJ sighs.
EJ
"What is it?"
Kate
"I think you reconsider denying Chad as your son. He's a great kid and I have a feeling you'll regret it one day."
Kate backs up a little before turning around. Nicole asks as if she wasn't eavesdropping and enters the room.
Nicole
"Hello good morning."
EJ
"Good morning darling. How are you and the baby doing? Do want some tea?"
Nicole
"Awesome and yes please"
EJ pours Nicole some tea and hands it to here.
Nicole
"Thank you."
Nicole takes a sip of tea.
EJ
"You're welcome. And think else?"
Nicole
"Yes."
EJ
"What is it? Biscuits? Eggs? Toast?"
Nicole
"Tell me about Chad being your son."
EJ pauses.
At Lucas', Lucas is shocked by Sami.
Lucas
"Why do you need me?"
Sami
"I'm worried about what's going to happen with Rafe."
Lucas
"Oh you mean what will happen when Rafe finds out you ruined his case against Baker not to mention the fact that you're lying to him about Sydney. Also you're lying to EJ and Nicole too."
Sami
"I'm not lying to anyone. And as soon as your girlfriend files the papers, Johnny and Sydney will be all mine."
Someone knocks on the door. Lucas goes to answer it. It's the same man that was at EJ's and he has another envelope.
Man
"Hello I'm looking for Samantha Brady."
Sami walks over.
Sami
"That's me."
The man hands Sami the envelope.
Man
"You've been served."
Then walks away. Lucas closes the door as Sami opens the envelope.
Lucas
"What's that?"
Sami
"Looks like your girlfriend came through."
Sami smiles.
Back at The Pub, Daniel and Phillip continue their conversation.
Daniel
"I came here to give you my donation."
Daniel hands Phillip a check.
Phillip
"You can make your donation tonight at the benefit."
Phillip tries to hand it back, but Daniel gives it back.
Daniel
"I'm not going."
Phillip
"Why not?"
Phillip asks curiously.
Daniel
"Because you stole my date."
Phillip
"Oh I'm sorry. I'm not taking random blonde #1 to the benefit. I'm taking Chloe."
Phillip smiles. Daniel seems confused."
Daniel
"That's who I meant, Chloe. What's this about a blonde?"
Phillip
"I saw you last night at Cheatin Hearts with a blonde."
Daniel
"Oh that was Vickie."
Phillip
"What is she like a med student or no I know who she was. One of your patients."
Daniel chuckles.
Daniel
"Aren't you full of jokes today?"
Phillip
"What can I say; I'm in a good mood."
Daniel
"Why because of Chloe? What are you two back together? Wait don't answer that. I can tell you guys aren't together because if you were then she wouldn't have run out of here like that."
Phillip
"Whether Chloe and I are back together or not, it's none of your business."
Daniel
"I think it is."
Phillip
"Why? You let her go."
Daniel
"Because you banged her."
Phillip
"So what?"
Daniel
"We were engaged."
Daniel raises his voice.
Phillip
"You banged Chloe while she was still married to my brother."
Daniel gets quiet.
Phillip
"Oh how quickly we throw stones."
Phillip says with a smile.
Back at the DiMera mansion. Nicole wants answers.
EJ
"Chad's not my son."
Nicole
"So you say, but Kate says otherwise."
EJ
"Kate's a liar. You know that."
Nicole
"Yeah, but why would she lie about that?"
EJ
"Who knows with that woman?"
Nicole
"Tell me the truth EJ. You know I'm just going to figure it out myself."
EJ
"Happy snooping."
EJ says then starts to walk away. Nicole turns around.
Nicole
"Too bad. I guess Chad is going to be all alone now."
EJ stops and turns around.
EJ
"What do you mean?"
Nicole
"His mom died and DA Woods disowned him at his mother's funeral. So now he has no family, who knows if he has any friends. Probably doesn't have any money. Probably homeless. Sitting on the corner asking for change. It's a shame. Fall's here then soon winter and then here comes the snow."
EJ
"Ok fine."
EJ yells then pauses.
EJ
"Chad's my son."
Nicole smiles.
Nicole
"Now was that so hard?"
EJ stares at Nicole. Back to Lucas'.

"The court date is set. Can't wait."
Sami walks over to a table and places the summons on it. Lucas follows her.
Lucas
"There's only one problem."
Sami looks at Lucas.
Sami
"What's that?"
Lucas
"Sydney's not your daughter?"
Little did they know, Rafe had walked downstairs.
Rafe
"What do you mean Sydney's not her daughter?"
Lucas and Sami stare at him.
Rafe
"What's going on here?"
Back to The Pub. Daniel and Phillip's conversation gets more heated.

"You broke my daughter's heart."
Phillip
"I never had your daughter's heart. Nathan Horton has that. But you, you broke Chloe's heart."
Daniel
"She broke mine first."
Phillip
"You broke Chelsea's heart and my mother's heart."
Daniel
"Chelsea, really? And don't get me started on your mother. The Mrs. Stefano DiMera. That selfish bitch."
Phillip
"Don't talk about my mother that way."
Daniel
"Oh, that bitch? The one that tried to kill Chloe because she was jealous? Pissed that Chloe did her little crybaby sons, Little Lucas and Little Philly Willy, wrong."
Phillip
"You know what? If you want to play moral high horse, go play it with someone else because you're no better than Chloe, Lucas, my mother, and certainly not me."
Daniel
"You're just mad because I'm right."
Phillip
"You're just mad because I ruined your pathetic relationship with Chloe."
Daniel
"And you're proud of it."
Phillip
"It was inevitable. Chloe and I always find our way back together. After Brady. You jumped in when she was still with Lucas. But in the end, we found a way back to each other and now we're going to be connected even more forever through our baby."

"You know what I see? I see a long history of you screwed it up with Chloe. From that stupid bet at your little school dance to getting her pregnant and ruining her relationship with me."
Phillip
"Chloe's happy about our baby."
Daniel
"Really? Then why did she run out of the hospital when she found out you were the father?"
Phillip
"She was in shock."
Daniel
"And why hasn't Chloe had a checkup yet?"
Phillip
"Maybe it's not time for one yet."
Daniel
"Nicole's always at the hospital and Chloe's farther along than her."
Mimi walks downstairs and sees Phillip and Daniel.

"You know what? I've heard more than enough from you today. Goodbye Daniel."

"Why? You're a great dad who loves his kids. You want to be a father to my baby so bad even though he or she could be Brady's. So why is it so hard to accept Chad as your son when it's a given?"

"Because of Madeline."

EJ looks sadly at Nicole.

"She broke my heart."

EJ
"She told me she loved me...then left."
EJ flashes back to when he met Madeline. It was a cold, rainy day in England as EJ walks into a small Pub and sees a beautiful blonde woman sitting at the bar wearing a short red dress with matching heals and a black rain coat. She turned and looked at him. He smiles and walks over to her. He introduces himself to her.
EJ
"Hello. My name is Elvis."
She smiles and holds her hand out to him.

"I'm Maddie."
They shake.
EJ
"Nice to meet you Maddie. Can I buy you a drink?"
Maddie
"Aren't you too young to drink?"
EJ
"Maybe, maybe not."
Nicole interrupts.
Nicole
"Boring. Can you just get to the sex part?"
EJ shakes his head.
EJ
"Fine. After being at the Pub, we did some sightseeing then we went to my place."
Nicole
"Finally we're getting somewhere."
EJ
"We drank some champagne then I kissed her. She was surprised by it but then kisses me back."
Nicole
"And then you made love."
EJ
"Yeah, we did."
Nicole
"Was it good?"
EJ
"It was amazing."

"Well she was a hooker."
EJ
"I didn't know that."
EJ pauses.
EJ
"I told her that I loved her."

"Why?"
EJ
"Cuz she was amazing and we had a great time together in that one day."

"Then what happened?"
EJ
"We went to sleep and the next morning she was gone. I never heard from her again until she came to town."

"So you're saying she hit it and then quit it?"
EJ stares at Nicole. At Lucas', Sami and Lucas try to cover their tracks.

"Um...what Lucas meant was.."
Rafe interrupts her.
Rafe
"No, I want to hear it from Lucas."
Sami get nerves.
Lucas
"What I meant is that Sydney isn't Sami's daughter. She's EJ's too and she can't keep him from her no matter how much she wants to."
Rafe
"So you think EJ has a right to be in that girl's life after everything that he's done?"
Lucas
"Hell no. But EJ's going to find a way so it's just best to throw him a small bone so then we won't have to deal with one of his schemes. Nobody has time for that. I just want peace for Sami, Sydney, and Johnny."
Rafe stares at Lucas then at Sami then back at Lucas.
Rafe
"So do I."
Sami's relieved. Rafe looks at Sami who smiles back at him.
Rafe
"Well I need to get to the office so I can get done with everything before the benefit."
Sami
"Ok great."
Rafe gives her a kiss then leaves.
Sami
"Damn it Lucas that was close. I thought you were going to tell Rafe the truth."
Lucas
"I thought about, but I decided to leave that up to you."
Sami
"Thank you."
Lucas
"Don't thank me. Now you have me lying to Rafe. You know what, you're a bad influence on me."
Sami
"What? I'm a bad influence on you? Kate Roberts is your mother. Lying is in your blood."
Lucas
"I've been doing pretty good lately."
Sami
"Oh and in the one to turn you back to your old ways?"
Lucas
"Yes."

"You know what? I don't want to talk about this right now. Tell me about Will. How did that go."
Lucas
"He's still with Mia."
Sami
"What? You said you were going to handle this Lucas."
Lucas
"The more we tell him to stay away from Mia, the more he's going to want to be with her. It's best to just wait it out."

"Thank you."
Sami says as she walks upstairs.

Lucas huffs. At The Pub, Daniel is mad he and Phillip were interrupted.

"Excuse me, but we're having a private conversation."
