Stephanie is sitting on her couch eating popcorn watching the hospital surveillance footage of Nicole getting hit.
Stephanie
"Bam, bitch went down."
She laughs.
Stephanie
"This will never get old."
She picks up her remote and turns off the video. She places her remote and popcorn on the table then picks up the key to Eddie's safe deposit box.
Stephanie
"Time to see what's inside this safe deposit box."
She picks up her keys and purse and leaves. Evan and Shawn are searching Eddie's apartment when Shawn comes across a picture of Eddie with a woman.
Shawn
"Hey Evan, take a look at this."
Evan walks over.
Shawn
"Looks like Eddie had a lady friend."
Evan
"Wonder who she is."
A woman opens the door. Evan and Shawn look over at her.
Woman
"What the hell is going on here? Who the hell are you guys?"
Evan
"Sorry ma'am, but you can't be here right now."
Woman
"This is my apartment. Get the hell out or I'm gonna call the police."
Shawn
"We are the police. I'm Officer Shawn Brady and this is Officer Evan Parker. And you are?"
Woman
"Jamie McCormick. I'm Eddie's wife. What has he done now?"
Shawn and Evan look at each other.
Jamie
"What is it? What aren't you guys telling me?"
Shawn
"I'm sorry, but Eddie's dead."
Jamie
"What? You're wrong he can't be."
Evan
"He is. I saw his dead body."
Jamie
"No! No, this isn't true."
Shawn
"We're sorry."
Jamie starts crying. Stephanie arrives at the bank with the key to Eddie's safe deposit box.
Stephanie
"Let's see, it should be box number 110."
She looks around for it.
Stephanie
"Ah, there it is."
She puts the key inside the hole and opens it up. She finds a folder filled with papers, money, and a tape recorder.
Stephanie
"Some pocket change."
She puts the money in her pocket.
Stephanie
"Ooh a tape recorder. Perfect."
She pulls the tape recorder and the folder and sticks them in her purse then closes the safe deposit box and leaves. At the police station, Bo is in his office searching for the hospital surveillance footage when Roman walks in.
Roman
"Whatcha doing little brother?"
Bo
"The hospital surveillance footage."
Roman
"Seriously?"
Bo
"Yeah. It was on my desk now it's nowhere to be found."
Roman
"I'm sure it's around here somewhere."
Natasha walks up to the door.
Natasha
"What exactly are you two looking for? Is it the hospital surveillance video?"
Bo
"Do you know what it is?"
Natasha
"No I don't and neither does either of you. If so I would be preparing to prosecute the person that ran over a pregnant woman and then left her there defenseless. It's just disgusting."
Nicole interrupts.
Nicole
"Yes. Finally someone sees things my way."
Natasha
"Nicole Walker I assume. I'm the new DA, Natasha Crane."
Nicole
"Nice to meet you."
They shake hands.
Roman
"I wouldn't describe Nicole Walker as defenseless. And she's done way worse things than a hit and run."
Natasha
"So that means she doesn't deserve justice? She's still a victim and deserves to face her attacker."
Nicole nods her head in agreement.
Nicole
"I like you. Let me buy you a drink."
Bo
"Ok that's enough. All of you out of here."
Nicole
"No, I want a progress report on my case."
Bo
"Ok, nothing's new. Now bye, bye Nicole."
Nicole
"Worse commissioner ever."
Nicole says and leaves in a huff she ends up running into Phillip.
Nicole
"Oh sorry Phillip."
Phillip
"It's cool. Why are you here? What has EJ done now?"
Nicole
"Nothing lately I don't think, but give me a couple hours and I'll find out."
Phillip laughs.
Nicole
"I'm just here trying to find out if your idiot brother is closer to finding out who hit me."
Phillip
"Still nothing?"
Nicole
"No. He kicked me out of his office. He's so rude. Goodness, Hope can mug half the town and no one bats an eye. I kidnap a baby and nobody forgets."
Phillip
"I'll talk to him and see if I can help I'm any way."
Nicole
"Ok, thank you Phillip."
They hug.
Nicole
"Well I better get back home and get ready for the benefit."
Phillip
"Alright. See you tonight."
Nicole
"With heels on if my feet aren't still swollen. Pregnancy isn't as glamorous as it seems."
Phillip watches as Nicole walks away. Back at Jamie and Eddie's, Jamie continues to cry.
Evan
"I'm sorry for your loss."
Jamie
"How did he die? He was sick before I left."
Shawn
"Where did you go?"
Jamie
"To see my Aunt. She was really sick and now she's dead and now Eddie's dead. Oh my gosh, everyone's dying."
Jamie's cries get louder. Evan walks over and puts his hand on her shoulder. She quiets down.
Jamie
"You didn't answer me. How did he die?"
Shawn
"Eddie was attacking a woman and she was just defending herself."
Jamie stops crying.
Jamie
"What? Eddie would never do something like that."
Shawn
"That's what happened."
Jamie
"You're lying. Where is this bitch?"
Stephanie arrives at home with a smile on her face and the stuff she stole from Eddie's safe deposit box. She puts the folder on the table and plays the tape.
Nathan:
"So you think you're some big tough guy huh? Walking into a hospital, trying to kidnap a teenage girl, shooting people including a pregnant woman? You're pathetic. I hope that they throw the book at you because you deserve it and a hell of a lot more."
Stephanie
"Ooh that was good Nathan so anger. So much hatred."
She smiles then sits at her table and opens the folder. She sees pictures of the damage to Melanie's car.
Stephanie
"Hmm. Something doesn't seem right."
At the police station, Natasha continues to give Roman and Bo grief while they search Bo's office for the video.
Natasha
"I can't believe you two idiots...no wait; I can believe you two idiots would do a thing like this. I've never worked at a police department that is as careless as this one."
Roman stops.
Roman
"Do you ever shut up?"
Natasha
"Do you ever solve a case?"
Phillip interrupts.
Phillip
"Sorry for interrupting, but Bo can I talk to you if you have a moment?"
Natasha
"He's busy."
Phillip
"I see. What are you looking for?"
Natasha
"The hospital surveillance footage that he lost. Who are you?"
Phillip
"Phillip Kiriakis."
Natasha
"Is that supposed to mean something?"
Bo walks over.
Bo
"He's my brother."
Natasha
"Oh. Well hopefully you're not as incompetent as your brother."
Bo
"Let's get out here."
Bo and Phillip walk into the hall.
Bo
"So what do you want to talk to me about?"
Phillip
"Nicole. Is there anything new on her case?"
Bo
"Without the footage, the case is cold."
Phillip
"No evidence at all?"
Bo
"The whole area was wiped clean like no one wanted the truth to be revealed."
Phillip has a flashback of the night of the accident. He remembers telling Chloe that he's done a bad thing then flashes back.
Bo
"Where'd you go just now?"
Before Phillip could answer Jamie storms into the police station with Evan and Shawn right behind her.
Jamie
"Hello, I need answers. Where is the commissioner?"
Bo
"I'm the commissioner and you are?"
Jamie
"Jamie McCormick and I need to see the bitch that murdered my husband."
Bo
"And who is your husband."
Jamie
"Eddie Saunders."
Bo
"She has been released."
Jamie
"What? How does a murderer get to walk away?"
Bo
"She's not a murderer; she was acting in self defense. He was trying to rape her."
Jamie
"That's bull. My husband wouldn't try and rape anyone."
Bo
"Sorry, but it's true."
Jamie
"No it's not. What's her name? What's the bitch's name that is lying about my husband and murdered him?"
Bo takes a deep breath.
Bo
"Stephanie Johnson."
Phillip's shocked. Stephanie turns the video back on to watch the crash again.
Stephanie
"No, no, no."
She screams then throws her remote. At the hospital, Nathan watches Melanie at the nurse's. She looks up and sees him looking at her. He quickly turns away. She looks back down and he looks over at her again then walks away. Melanie looks up as he's walking away. She follows him as he goes into the locker room. As she walks in, she slams the door startling him.
Nathan
"What the hell?"
Melanie
"What the hell is right."
Nathan
"What?"
Melanie
"Why are you staring at me?"
Nathan
"I just looked over at you."
Melanie
"No you've been doing this all day."
Nathan
"No I haven't."
Melanie
"Stop lying. I'm not dumb. Just I don't believe that you and Stephanie are back together."
Nathan
"Why not?"
Melanie
"Why would you be?"
Nathan is silent. Melanie smiles and crosses her arms.
Melanie
"I knew it. I knew you were lying. You didn't have much to say last night either. Stephanie did all the talking or should I say lying? So what is the truth? Why are you pretending to be back with Stephanie?"
Nathan
"It's...it's not forever."
Melanie
"Why at all? Why can't we be together?"
Nathan
"Because...it's complicated."
Melanie
"Well uncomplicate it."
Nathan
"I will. I am."
Melanie pulls him into a kiss. Back at the police station, Jamie is ready for revenge.
Jamie
"Stephanie Johnson, huh? Well I guess it's time that I meet her."
Jamie turns around, but Evan and Shawn stand in her way.
Jamie
"Move please."
Bo
"You're not going anywhere near Stephanie."
Jamie turns back around.
Jamie
"And why not?"
Bo
"Because the case is close and there's no reason to go after your husband's victim."
Jamie
"She's not victim. She's a murderer."
Bo
"You can see it as anyway you like, but the truth is the truth. I'm sorry for your loss, but I can't condone a meeting between you two. Not with you like this."
Jamie
"Alright, I'll calm down. Now bring her here."
Bo
"I will discuss this with Stephanie and I'll get back to you. You can leave your number with the desk sergeant."
Jamie takes off.
Bo
"Evan, escort her out of the building."
Evan
"Yes sir."
Evan takes off after Jamie.
Bo
"Shawn, where the hell did she come from?"
Shawn
"She showed up at the apartment when Evan and I were searching it."
Phillip
"Why did Stephanie kill this Eddie Saunders guy?"
Bo
"He tried to rape her. It was self defense."
Phillip
"That bastard."
Bo
"Now we need to make sure this Jamie doesn't go anywhere near Stephanie until I talk to Stephanie."
Shawn
"Definitely. There's no telling who this Jamie is."
Phillip
"I need to go handle some stuff before the benefit. Will I see you guys there?"
Shawn
"I will be there with Belle."
Bo
"Carly and I will be there."
Phillip
"Alright, later."
Phillip walks off. Before leaving the station, he pulls out his phone and calls Stephanie. She doesn't answer so he leaves her a message.
Phillip
"Hey Steph, its Phillip. Call me when you get this. I heard about what happen. I'm worried about you."
Phillip hangs up then leaves the station. Stephanie walks over to her table and looks at the pictures again.
Stephanie
"I can't believe this. Melanie didn't hit Nicole."
Stephanie bangs her head on the table and starts to cry. Someone walks in and starts clapping their hands. Stephanie looks up. It's Eddie.
Eddie
"Bravo, bravo. You figured it out."
Stephanie is in shock. At the hospital, Melanie and Nathan continue to kiss until Nathan pushes her away.
Nathan
"No, I can't."
He turns away.
Melanie
"Why not? I'm not? I'm not giving up on you. You never did on me."
Nathan faces her.
Nathan
"I'm not giving up on you. It's just..."
Melanie
"It's just what? If you love me you, kiss me right now."
Nathan walks over to Melanie and gazes into her eyes then pulls her into a kiss. He picks her up and puts her up against a locker.
