Bo's in his office putting his jacket on when Carly walks in wearing a knee length black and seafoam rhinestone dress with black heels and a matching feathery mask. Bo looks at her starting from her feet all the way up as Carly leans against the doorframe.
Bo
"I like what I see."
Carly
"Good."
They smile at one another as Carly walks over. They begin to kiss, but are interrupted by Jamie.
Jamie
"So this is what goes on at the police station."
Bo and Carly look her way.
Jamie
"No wonder my husband's murderer got to go free."
Bo
"Jamie, how can I help you?"
Jamie
"I want to know if I will get to meet the bitch that murdered my husband."
Bo rolls his eyes. At The Pub, Sami and Rafe drop Johnny, Allie, and Sydney off with Caroline so that they can go to the Masquerade ball. The kids run up to Caroline and yell "grandma".
Caroline
"Hello."
She smiles.
Sami
"Thanks much grandma for watching them. Rafe and I really need a night out together."
Caroline
"Sure, sure. Anytime. I missed these three very much."
Rafe
"Well we better get going."
Sami
"Bye kids. Be good."
Johnny, Allie, and Sydney say goodbye to Sami and Rafe as they leave for the ball. Caroline and the kids head upstairs. In the corner of The Pub, Chad sits drinking coffee when Gabi walks up in a pink sequin dress smiling.
Gabi
"Hey Chad."
Chad looks up and smiles.
Chad
"Hey. What are you all dressed up for?"
Gabi
"The masquerade ball. You didn't get an invite?"
Chad
"Oh yeah. Will and Mia told me about that and I forgot. I got a lot on my mind lately."
Gabi
"Obviously, I haven't heard from you in days. What's going on?"
Chad stands up.
Chad
"Nothing that can't wait. I'm going to go and get into a suit and take you to the ball."
Gabi smiles.
Gabi
"Really?"
Chad
"Yes. Give me 5 minutes."
Gabi
"Ok."
Chad heads upstairs to get changed. Gabi gets excited. At the Ball, Brady and Arianna arrive with matching outfits. Arianna's wearing a long white dress with hot pink sequins and the back out. Brady is wearing a white suit with a hot pink tie. Both of their masks are white and hot pink. Nicole spots them and walks over. EJ follows. Nicole looks them up and down.
Nicole
"Oh look matching outfits, how tacky."
Arianna looks Nicole up and down.
Arianna
"Your dress is awfully tight. Can the baby even breathe in there?"
Arianna
"Hello is there life in there."
Arianna touches Nicole's belly. Nicole swats her hand away and looks at Brady.
Nicole
"Tell your wife to keep her paws off my baby."
Brady
"Ok, I think that's enough for tonight. Can we all have a good time?"
EJ
"I don't know about you but I found that very entertaining."
EJ chuckles.
Brady
"Let's go and get something to drink."
Arianna
"Sounds good to me."
Brady and Arianna walk away.
Nicole
"Was it something I said?"
Across the room, Fredrick Miller walks over to Phillip and Chloe.
Fredrick
"Hello."
Phillip and Chloe look over at him.
Fredrick
"I'm..."
Chloe
"...Fredrick Miller."
They shake hands.
Fredrick
"Please call me Rick."
Chloe
"I can't believe I'm meeting you."
Rick
"I can't believe I'm meeting the famous Chloe Lane."
Chloe
"I'm not famous. Not like you."
Rick
"So modest this one."
Phillip
"That's Chloe. She never gives herself enough credit."
Rick
"Well we need to put a stop to that."
Phillip
"Good luck with that."
They all chuckle. Chloe coughs slightly and clears her throat.
Phillip
"Are you ok?"
Chloe
"I have this weird feeling in my throat."
Rick
"I get those all the time. Come with me. I have a quick remedy."
Chloe
"Ok."
Rick looks at Phillip.
Rick
"We'll be right back."
Rick and Chloe walk away. Lucas and Alex walk up to Phillip.
Lucas
"Aw, don't tell me Chloe has already left you."
Phillip
"No. That's Fredrick Miller and he's just helping her warm up."
Alex seems nervous.
Lucas
"Is that what they're calling it now?"
Phillip
"Stop it."
Lucas
"I'm just messing with you."
Phillip
"Ha ha."
Lucas
"I know I'm funny."
Phillip
"How rude of me. Hello Alex."
Alex
"Hi Phillip."
Phillip
"If you excuse me, I'm going to make sure everything is ready for Chloe to sing."
Phillip walks away.
Alex
"I didn't know Chloe was going to sing. That's cool."
Lucas notices Alex is nervous.
Lucas
"Are you ok?"
Alex
"Yeah fine. Do you want a drink? Cuz I want one."
Lucas
"Sure. I'll go get them."
Alex
"Ok."
Lucas walk away to get the drinks.
Alex
"Why the hell are you in town for Rick?"
At the police station, Jamie awaits Bo's answer.
Bo
"I told you that I would get in contact with you after I talk to Stephanie."
Jamie
"I don't feel like waiting. Get her on the phone now."
Bo
"No. I'm going to a benefit and you're going home."
Jamie
"My home has been ransacked by your goons."
Bo
"Then I'll take you to the Salem Inn and I'll put you up in a room for the night."
Jamie
"Fine. I'll give you till tomorrow afternoon."
Bo
"Great now, lets good."
Bo, Carly, and Jamie head to the Salem Inn. Sami and Rafe arrive at the ball. Sami's wearing a powder blue dress with silver sequins all over with a matching mask. Rafe is wearing a dark grey suit with a powder blue tie and a matching mask. Sami spots EJ with Nicole.
Sami
"Oh great they're here."
Rafe
"That was to be expected."
Sami
"Let's avoid them. The last thing that I want to do is get into a fight with EJ."
Rafe
"We can go this way then."
Sami and Rafe walk away. Nathan watches Melanie dancing with Brady when Stephanie walks up.
Stephanie
"There you are. I've been looking all over for you."
Nathan pays her no mind. Stephanie looks over and sees why he's so distracted.
Stephanie
"Oh I see. Melanie's more important than me."
Stephanie blocks his view of Melanie. Nathan gets mad
Nathan
"Melanie has always been more important than you. That's why I'm dealing with your crap."
Stephanie
"Oh boohoo. You have to deal with me."
Nathan
"Yes it's horrible. So horrible in fact that I'm going to tell Melanie the truth."
Stephanie
"Yeah you go do that and see where that gets you."
Nathan
"Anywhere is better than being with you."
Nathan walks away. Stephanie is pissed.
Melanie and Brady stop dancing. Arianna walk up.
Melanie
"Arianna, thank you for letting me borrow your husband."
Arianna
"You're welcome, but where's Nathan?"
Brady
"Yeah you guys should dance together."
Melanie
"He's here with Stephanie."
Brady
"Why?"
Arianna sees Nathan coming.
Arianna
"I don't think he is anymore."
Melanie
"Why?"
Brady and Arianna point at Nathan. Melanie turns around and sees him as he walks up to her.
Melanie
"What do you want?"
Nathan
"To talk."
Melanie
"About what?"
Nathan
"Us, please?"
Melanie
"Maybe later. I'm hanging out with my peeps right now."
Brady and Arianna sneak away quietly. Melanie notices.
Melanie
"Hey you two, get back here."
Nathan
"Looks like you're not hanging with them anymore so you can listen to me."
Melanie
"Fine."
Nathan
"Can we go somewhere private?"
Melanie
"Ok."
Stephanie watches as Nathan and Melanie walk away. She tries to follow them, but Phillip stands in her way.
Stephanie
"Move."
Phillip
"We need to talk."
Stephanie
"About what?"
Phillip
"I'm guessing you didn't get my message."
Stephanie
"No I didn't. What do you want?"
Phillip
"I heard what happened to you with that guy and I'm sorry. I want to make sure you're ok."
Stephanie
"I don't need your sympathy; I need you to get out of my way."
Phillip
"Fine, but you better not be doing anything to break up Melanie and Nathan."
Stephanie
"If I was, what does it matter to you?"
Phillip
"Because I want Melanie to happy and she's happy with Nathan."
Stephanie
"Wow, after everything you still care about her?"
Phillip
"I care about you too."
Stephanie
"Well don't worry about me."
Stephanie pushes Phillip out of the way and goes after Nathan and Melanie. Bo, Carly, and Jamie are at the Salem Inn. Bo's getting Jamie a room while Carly and Jamie chat.
Jamie
"So what's this ball all about?"
Carly
"It's to raise money for the new children's wing at University Hospital."
Jamie
"Cool."
Carly
"Yes it is cool."
Bo walks over and hands Jamie her key.
Bo
"Here's the key to your room."
Jamie takes the key from Bo.
Jamie
"Thank you."
Bo
"Now if you excuse me, we have a ball to go to."
Jamie
"Well have fun."
Bo and Carly walk into the ballroom. Jamie starts to head to her room, but stops.
Jamie
"I feel like going to a ball tonight."
Jamie walks into the ballroom. Over by the drinks, Mia and Will are interrupted by Kinsey and Tad.
Kinsey
"Hey Mia. Love your dress. Also loving this new bitchy you. It's a good thing. Keep it up."
Mia
"Thank you, I guess."
Kinsey
"You're welcome."
Henry and Joy walk over.
Henry
"Hey Will. Look at my hot date. Her name is Joy."
Will
"Yeah I know her."
Joy
"Hey Will, hey Mia."
Mia
"I'm so glad that you were able to find a date."
Henry
"Yep she's very lucky I came around."
Joy giggles.
Joy
"He's so funny."
Henry
"Let's go back out and dance. I love this song."
Joy
"Ok."
Henry and Joy go back out on the dance floor.
Kinsey
"What just happened here?"
Tad
"Not sure, but I'm hungry."
Kinsey
"Let's go feed you then."
Kinsey and Tad walk away.
Mia
"You have strange friends."
Will
"I agree."
Chad and Gabi walk over to them.
Mia
"Chad, you came. That's great."
Mia hugs Chad. Gabi looks mad.
Will
"And Gabi came also."
Mia stops hugging Chad and looks at Gabi.
Mia
"Oh hi Gabi. Didn't see you there."
Gabi
"Of course. Why would you?"
Mia
"Exactly! You get it."
Gabi rolls her eyes.
Chad
"Um...let's go get something to drink or eat."
Gabi
"Sure, why not."
Chad and Gabi walk away.
Mia
"Was it something I said?"
Sami and Rafe see Will and Mia together.
Sami
"Can't believe Will wants to be with that...that thing. I'm going to make her go away."
Sami tries to walk over to Will and Mia, but Rafe stops her.
Rafe
"No you're not."
Sami
"What? Why not? He doesn't need to be with that slut."
Rafe
"They're having fun. Just leave it alone."
Sami
"Are you kidding me? I will not let go what that little bitch put my son in the middle of."
Rafe
"The more you push for them to be apart, the more they're going to find a way to be together. It's just best for Will to find out on his own if Mia's the right girl for him or not."
Sami
"You sound like Lucas."
Lucas walks up
Lucas
"I heard my name."
Sami
"Yes, Rafe agrees with you about how to deal with Will and that bitch slut."
Lucas
"Very creative name."
Sami
"Thanks I just thought of it."
Sami looks at Lucas' hands. He has a drink in each one.
Sami
"Are you really thirsty or something?"
Alex walks up.
Alex
"There you are."
Lucas
"Oh yeah forgot. Here's your drink."
Alex
"Thank you."
Alex takes her drink from Lucas and takes a sip.
Sami
"Alex, I didn't get a chance to thank you for getting those papers drawn up for me. I'm looking forward to ripping EJ apart in court."
Alex
"You're welcome."
Rafe
"Can we stop talking about EJ? I thought we were going to have fun?"
Sami
"Ok I will."
Rafe
"Good."
Phillip sees Chloe and Rick chatting it up. He walks over.
Phillip
"So Chloe, are you doing any better?"
Chloe
"Yes. Rick's remedy worked perfectly."
Phillip
"Really, what was that?"
Chloe was about to tell him, but Rick interrupts.
Rick
"That is between Chloe and me."
Phillip
"Ok. Well are you ready to go on?"
Chloe
"Yes I am."
Phillip
"Alright then, let's go."
Phillip, Chloe, and Rick head to the stage.
Chad and Gabi are standing by the dessert table. Chad notices Gabi is looking for something.
Chad
"What are you looking for?"
Gabi
"I lost my mask. I think I left it on the table when we were talking to Will and Mia.
Chad
"Ok, I'll walk over there and get it for you."
Gabi
"Thanks. The last thing I want to do is talk to Mia again."
Chad
"I don't blame you."
Chad walks away to find the mask. EJ and Nicole are getting some drinks when EJ sees Sami, Rafe, Lucas, and Alex joking around.
EJ
"Look at her. All happy and what not when she knows damn well she's keeping my kids from seeing their father. I'm going over there and demand to see them."
EJ tries to walk away, but Nicole stops him.
Nicole
"No EJ. You can't go over there."
EJ
"Why not?"
Nicole
"Because. This is Phillip's big night. I don't want it ruined by one of your fights with Sami. Not to mention Chloe is about to perform and I don't want anyone to ruin it for her."
EJ
"Fine, but I will confront her after. Johnny and Sydney are my kids and I deserve to be in their lives. I will not let Samantha ruin that. I will fight for them."
Just as EJ says that, Chad walks up and overhears.
Chad
"So you want to have a relationship with Johnny and Sydney, but not me?"
EJ looks at Chad.
EJ
"I do want a relationship with you."
Chad
"You don't act like you do."
EJ
"I know I've been very rude to you."
Chad
"Rude? Cruel comes to mind. It's not like I asked to be your son."
EJ
"I know and I'm sorry."
Chad
"Just save it. I don't want to hear your voice anymore."
Chad walks away.
EJ
"Chad!"
Nicole
"Just let him go. Tonight isn't the night."
Phillip grabs the mic.
Phillip
"Can I have everyone's attention please?"
Everyone quiets down and have their eyes on Phillip.
Phillip
"I would like to thank all of you from coming here tonight to help raise the funds needed for the new children's wing at Salem University Hospital. This project means so much to me from beginning and onward and even more so now that I myself will be a father in just a few months. It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have exceeded our goal."
Everyone claps.
Phillip
"And now for your entertainment, a song sung by Salem's own. The beautiful, the talented, Chloe Lane."
Everyone claps as Phillip gives the mic to Chloe then walks off stage.
Chloe
"Thank you Phillip for the introduction. I will be performing "Kissing You" by Des'ree. And the very talented, Rick Miller, will accompany me on the piano."
Chloe clears her throat as Rick begins to play the piano. Chloe waits for the right note before she begins to sing.

During the musical break, Chloe looks over at Phillip who hasn't looked away since she began singing. She smiles briefly at him then turns her attention back to the crowd. Chad walks up behind Gabi and pulls her into a deep, passionate kiss.

Chad releases the kiss. Their eyes slowly open. At that moment, Chad realizes he has kissed the wrong woman. Instead of kissing Gabi he kissed Joy.
Chad
"Oh my...I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else."
Chad rushes off before a speechless Joy could utter up a word.

Chloe wraps up the song and everyone claps. Joy is still speechless as Henry comes over.
Henry
"Your sister has a beautiful voice."
Joy's still speechless, but manages to smile.
Chloe
"Thank you. Thank you everyone."
Phillip walks on stage to give Chloe a hug, but Rick walks over and hugs her first.
Rick
"Great job."
Chloe
"Thanks, you too."
Phillip walks up as they stop hugging. Chloe looks over at Phillip just as he pulls her into a kiss.
Nicole
"There you go Phillip."
Nicole looks around and doesn't see EJ.
Nicole
"EJ?"
EJ walks over to Sami.
EJ
"Where are my kids?"
Sami
"Can you go away?"
EJ
"Sure as soon as I get to see my kids."
Sami
"You're like a broken record."
Rafe
"You heard what she said, go away."
Alex
"I think its best you talk to your attorney before confronting Ms. Brady."
EJ
"I am my own attorney."
Sami
"You won't get anywhere near my kids. Never again."
EJ
"We'll see about that. In fact, I think I know exactly where I can find them."
EJ takes off.
Sami
"Don't you dare."
Sami takes off after him. Rafe, Lucas, and Alex follow. Will and Mia notice.
Will
"I'm going to see what that's all about."
Mia
"Fine, I'll stay here."
Will
"I'll be right back."
Just as Will walks away, Jamie walks up behind Mia with drink in her hand.
Jamie
"Mia, Mia, Mia."
Mia turns around.
Mia
"Jamie, Jamie, Jamie."
Jamie
"I figured that was you in your slut dress all over that rich Horton boy."
Mia
"Go away."
Jamie
"Not until I tell you off."
Mia crosses her arms. Nathan and Melanie walk into a small room close to the ballroom to talk.
Melanie
"Ok, we're alone. Now what is it that you want to tell me?"
Nathan
"The truth."
Melanie
"About you and Stephanie?"
Nathan
"About everything."
Melanie
"Okay so tell me."
Nathan
"Stephanie's blackmailing me."
Melanie
"Why? What does she have on you?"
Nathan
"The tape of me talking to Colin before he died."
Melanie
"Ok and you cleared that up with Bo. And how did she even get that?"
Nathan
"From Eddie Saunders."
Melanie
"That sleaze? Why would he give that to her?"
Nathan
"He didn't. She took it after she killed him."
Melanie
"Why would she kill him?"
Nathan
"He tried to rape her."
Melanie
"Oh my gosh."
Nathan
"Eddie blackmailed me first with that and something else. After his death, Stephanie took over to get revenge."
Melanie
"What did Eddie have on you?"
Nathan
"He helped cover up something for me."
Melanie
"What was that?"
Nathan hesitates.
Melanie
"Tell me."
Nathan
"That you ran over Nicole."
Melanie is stunned. Stephanie walks up.
