It's a new day in Salem as Phillip lies in his cell. A guard walks up to his cell.
Guard
"Wake up Kiriakis. You have a visitor."
Phillip sits up.
Phillip
"Who?"
Chloe walks around the corner.
Chloe
"Me."
Phillip rushes over and smiles. Chloe smiles back.
DIMERA MANSION
Stefano's reading the paper and drinking some orange juice when Kate walks in with a grumpy look on her face.
Kate
"Morning Stefano."
Stefano
"Morning Katherine. Why so down?"
Kate
"None of my kids want to talk to me."
Stefano
"Why not?"
Kate
"Well let's see. Austin doesn't want to talk to me because he and his wife seem to think that you offered Anna."
Stefano
"I didn't kill Anna."
Kate
"I believe you, which is one of the reasons why he won't return my phone call. Then there's Phillip. He's mad that I don't like his baby momma. Like he could blame me. Rex, I don't know why he won't call me back. I heard he's back in town. And Lucas. I don't know. I talked to him yesterday. We're on good time, but I called him this morning and he didn't answer me or called me back. I'm worried."
EJ walks into the room.
EJ
"I know why Lucas didn't answer your call."
Stefano and Kate look at EJ.
Kate
"What the hell did you do to my son?"
MAGGIE'S HOUSE
Maggie's making breakfast when Nick walks downstairs.
Nick
"Good morning Aunt Maggie."
Maggie
"Morning Nick. How did you sleep?"
Nick
"Amazing. It feels so good to be home."
Maggie
"It feels so good to have you home."
Nick
"I don't think everyone feels that way."
Maggie
"Oh Melanie and Nathan? They'll come around. You just took them by surprise."
Melanie walks slowly downstairs unbeknownst to Nick and Maggie.
Nick
"I hope so. I want to make a mends with Melanie. I don't want her to hate me or to be afraid of me. I'm a different person."
Maggie sees Melanie walk up.
Maggie
"Why don't you tell her that yourself?"
Nick turns around and sees Melanie. He smiles slightly.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Victor is enjoying some breakfast while reading the paper when Vivian interrupts.
Vivian
"Good morning Victor."
Victor
"Well it was till you opened your mouth."
Vivian
"I'm so happy to see you too."
Victor
"I think you misinterpreted what I said."
Vivian
"You can say whatever you want today it doesn't matter to me."
Victor
"Good because I would hate to hurt your feelings."
Vivian
"Today Gus and I are going to Chicago. Our lives as we know it are about to change."
Victor
"That's today? I'll take it back. This is a good morning."
Vivian
"See I told you."
Gus walks in through the patio.
Gus
"Good morning Madam."
Vivian and Victor turn their attention to him.
Vivian
"Morning Gus."
Victor
"Don't you know how to use the front door?"
Gus
"Sorry sir. I thought you were going to be at work already."
Victor
"Sorry to have been at my house."
Vivian
"So are all our travel arraignments set?"
Gus
"Yes. The car will be here…"
Gus checks his watch.
Gus
"…in about 2 ½ hours."
Vivian
"I can't wait. This is going to be amazing."
Victor stands up.
Victor
"Well I would hate to leave without saying goodbye."
Vivian
"Well you can say goodbye now."
Victor
"No time, I have to get to the office."
Victor heads towards the door.
Vivian
"Well I'll say goodbye. Goodbye Victor."
Victor opens the door and shuts it.
Vivian
"He will miss me when I'm gone."
Gus
"I don't think…"
Vivian interrupts Gus mid sentence.
Vivian
"I can't wait to get my hands on Nicholas' little brat. Finally I'll get my revenge on Carly Manning."
Gus
"You never did say what your plan was."
Vivian
"It's simple. We get the girl then..."
Vivian is interrupted by someone knocking at the door.
Vivian
"Henderson!"
Vivian waits for a response. The person keeps knocking.
Vivian
"Never mind, I'll get it."
Vivian walks towards the door.
Vivian
"Why hire help if they're not going to do what they're supposed to do?"
Vivian opens the door. Stephanie's there.
Vivian
"Well hello…um…"
Stephanie
"Stephanie."
Vivian
"Oh yes. Stephanie. Well Phillip is not here."
Stephanie
"I'm not here to see Phillip. I'm here to see you."
SALEM PD
The guard walks away to give Phillip and Chloe some privacy.
Phillip
"There's one good thing about being here."
Chloe
"What's that?"
Phillip
"I get to see your beautiful face."
Chloe
"Well you can see this face as often as you want to."
Phillip
"That makes me the luckiest man on this planet."
Chloe
"The luckiest man on the planet is locked up?"
Phillip
"Okay not the luckiest when it comes to the law, but everything else, yes."
Shawn walks down.
Shawn
"I hate to interrupt, but your arraignment is going to start in a little bit."
Phillip
"I wouldn't want to miss that."
Chloe
"Not at all."
Upstairs, Justin walks into the station as Bo's going over some files.
Justin
"Hey Bo."
Bo looks over at him.
Bo
"Hey."
Justin
"Hey. So question, what kind of mood is Ms. Crane in this morning?"
Bo
"I have no idea. They all seem to be the same to me and it's never good."
Justin
"Just what I thought."
Justin looks down and sees a file with Johnny's name on it.
Justin
"Why do you have a file on Johnny DiMera?"
Bo
"He got hit by a car last night."
Justin
"What? How's he doing?"
Bo
"Better now that he got a partial liver transplant from his father, Lucas."
Justin
"Lucas? But I thought EJ was Johnny's father."
Bo
"So did everyone else, but when EJ got himself tested to see if he's a match, Daniel and Lexie discovered that's not true."
Justin
"Wow that's crazy."
Bo
"Tell me about it."
Justin
"Do you know who did it?"
Bo
"Not yet."
Natasha walks in.
Natasha
"Well how about that. We close one hit and run case and a new one pops back up on our desks."
Bo and Justin look at each other.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ
"It's what your son did to me."
Kate
"What did Lucas do?"
EJ
"He got to Samantha first."
Kate
"First for what?"
EJ
"Impregnate her."
Kate
"Sorry you're 17 years too late on that. Anyways, what does this have to do with anything?"
EJ
"I found out last night that Lucas is Johnny's son."
Stefano
"What? No, you're Johnny's father."
EJ
"Not anymore according to Daniel and oh yes your daughter."
Stefano
"Alexandra? What did she do?"
Kate
"How did Johnny go from being your son to Lucas'?"
EJ
"Johnny needed a partial liver transplant. Samantha and I got tested. Samantha was a partial match. I was not a match in fact Johnny and I don't share any similar markers. This means there is no way we're related. Lucas on the other hand was a perfect match."
EJ pours himself a drink.
Stefano
"You've got to be kidding me. This doesn't even seem real. It's like one of those fan fiction story things."
EJ downs his drink.
EJ
"It's the truth Father. Lucas went under the knife last night."
Kate
"I need to get to the hospital then to see how my son and my new grandson are doing."
Kate grabs her purse and coat before heading out. Stefano waits until he hears the door close before he says anything else. He stands up and walks over to EJ who's pouring himself some more to drink.
Stefano
"Are you sure this isn't some scheme Samantha cooked up?"
EJ looks at Stefano.
EJ
"Not even Samantha is that slick. Plus she was nowhere near that test."
EJ downs his drink.
Stefano
"Well at least you still have Sydney and Chad."
EJ huffs.
MAGGIE'S HOUSE
Nick
"Good morning Melanie. You look awake."
Melanie
"Thank you and good morning to you also. And you also Maggie."
Maggie
"Thank you. Would you like some breakfast?"
Melanie
"Sure, I haven't eaten all day."
Melanie laughs a little as she sits down next to Nick.
Nick
"I see you still have your sense of humor."
Melanie
"Yeah, can't lose that."
Nick and Melanie smile at one another. Nathan walks downstairs fixing his sleeves. He looks over at them.
Nick
"I meant what I said. I'm a changed person and I hope to make a mends with you."
Melanie looks over at him.
Nick
"Is that possible?"
Maggie turns around and sees Nathan staring at Nick and Melanie.
Maggie
"Good morning Nathan."
Nick and Melanie turn around and see Nathan.
Nathan
"Morning."
Nathan finishes walking downstairs.
Maggie
"Would you like some breakfast?"
Nathan
"Yes please."
Melanie gets up and gives him a kiss as Nick watches.
Melanie
"Morning"
Nick
"Hello Nathan"
Nathan
"Nick"
Maggie walks over with a plate for Nathan.
Maggie
"Breakfast."
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Vivian
"Well come on in."
Vivian moves out of the way so that Stephanie could walk in. Stephanie walks in and Vivian closes the door behind her.
Vivian
"So how can I help you Stephanie? Would you like a drink?"
Vivian walks into the living room. Stephanie rolls her eyes then follows.
Vivian
"Gus"
Gus looks up from the paper.
Gus
"Yes madam."
Vivian
"This is Stephanie."
Gus
"Hello Stephanie."
Stephanie
"Can you stop talking?"
Vivian looks at Stephanie.
Vivian
"Well since you asked some rudely."
Stephanie
"You and your petty feud with Carly has destroyed my life."
Vivian
"I have no feud with Carly."
Stephanie
"Stop lying. You hate Carly and you wanted to get revenge on her so you used Chloe. You made her think that Daniel was cheating on her with Carly which only sent her running into Phillip's arms. Which in turn she got pregnant and then that gave Melanie a reason to leave him and run into Nathan's arms which caused Nathan to break up with me."
Vivian
"You're mad because your boyfriend dumped you for someone else? Well that's not my problem whether I tricked Chloe or not."
Stephanie
"It is your fault. If you hadn't come back to town, Nathan would still be mine."
Vivian
"Sounds like Nathan was never yours to begin with. Looks like Nathan and Melanie were meant to be together and Phillip and Chloe also. And you, well you're meant to be alone."
Vivian pours herself a drink as Stephanie's anger rises. Vivian goes to take a sip, but Stephanie knocks the glass out of her hand. Vivian stares at her in shock.
Vivian
"What on earth? You rude little girl."
Stephanie
"I could do much worse."
Vivian turns to Gus.
Vivian
"Gus, can you get a broom and some paper towels please?"
Gus
"Yes madam."
Gus heads to the kitchen. Vivian turns her attention to Stephanie who sits her purse on the table.
Vivian
"I'm so sorry that you weren't able to keep your man from straying, but that's not my problem. That's yours."
Gus walks back in.
Gus
"Madam, I don't see the broom or paper towels."
Vivian
"For heaven sakes. Where is that idiot Henderson?"
Vivian walks away. Stephanie stares at the table with the drinks and her purse on it.
SALEM PD
Justin
"The first hit and run is not over yet."
Natasha
"We have your client dead to rights. There's no way that even Victor Kiriakis' son can get away with this."
Justin
"We'll see."
Justin checks his watch.
Justin
"It's time to get to the courthouse."
Natasha
"Let's go."
Bo
"Let's."
Justin, Natasha, and Bo head to the courthouse.
COURTHOUSE
Shawn, Phillip, and Chloe arrive. Joy, Belle, and Nicole are already there. They turn to see them walking in. Soon Justin, Bo, and Natasha walk in.
Natasha
"Looks like the gang is all here. Let's get this show on the road."
She smiles then walks over to Nicole.
Natasha
"Nicole, can we talk in private?"
Nicole
"Sure."
Natasha and Nicole walk away from everyone.
Belle
"Why is she talking to her? I thought Nicole was on your side?"
Phillip
"I'm sure she's."
Chloe
"There's no way that Nicole is going to help her."
Nicole
"So what do you want to talk about?"
Natasha
"I want to assure you that I intend to make sure you get the justice that you deserve."
Nicole
"Well thank you for that."
Natasha
"You're welcome."
The court guard interrupts.
Court Guard
"All rise. The honorable Judge Fitzpatrick presiding."
Judge Fitzpatrick walks in and takes a seat.
Court Guard
"You may all be seated."
Everyone takes a seat.
Judge Fitzgerald
"This is the arraignment hearing for Phillip Kiriakis. Please rise."
Phillip and Justin rise.
Judge Fitzgerald
"How do you plead Mr. Kiriakis?"
Phillip
"Not guilty"
Natasha stands up.
Natasha
"We have him dead to rights."
Justin
"All you have is a surveillance video that went missing for some time then resurfaced that just shows Nicole getting hit by a car. A car that a lot of citizens of Salem drive. Anyone could have been there that night. There's also no evidence that Mr. Kiriakis was even at the scene."
Natasha
"We got the license plate of the car. It's registered to Mr. Kiriakis."
Justin
"But the video disappeared for some time. The video could have been tampered with."
Judge Fitzpatrick
"Is this true Ms. Crane?"
Everyone looks at Natasha.
Natasha
"Yes your honor, but…"
Judge Fitzpatrick interrupts.
Judge Fitzpatrick
"Is that all the evidence you have is a videotape that could have been altered?"
Natasha
"We also have the testimony from the victim, Nicole Walker, who is here today."
Judge Fitzpatrick
"Ms. Walker."
Nicole stands up. Natasha smiles.
Nicole
"Yes your honor?"
Judge Fitzpatrick
"What do you have to say about this?"
Nicole
"Your honor, I have a hard time believing that Phillip would run me over. Not on purpose. And even on accident, he would have stopped to see if I was ok. Not drive off. Phillip and I are good friends. He would never hurt my unborn baby or me. He's the father of my soon to be godchild. Honestly, I think he's being set up."
Natasha stares angrily at Nicole.
Judge Fitzpatrick
"Thank you Ms. Walker. You may be seated."
Nicole sits down.
Judge Fitzpatrick
"So Ms. Crane, is there any other evidence that you want to show?"
Natasha slows turns back around to face the judge.
Natasha
"No your honor."
Judge Fitzpatrick
Then that's settled. Mr. Kiriakis, you're free to go."
Judge Fitzpatrick hits her gable and walks off. Everyone's happy except Natasha. She walks over to Justin and Phillip.
Natasha
"Well congratulations for getting away with hit and run."
She then turns to Nicole.
Natasha
"Should have known you would turn on me given your poor reputation."
Nicole rolls her eyes. She turns back to Phillip.
Natasha
"I'm done here."
Natasha leaves the courtroom. Nicole walks over to Phillip.
Nicole
"Glad she's gone."
Phillip
"Thank you Nicole for everything."
Nicole
"Anytime, friend."
They smile at one another.
MAGGIE'S HOUSE
Everyone is finished with breakfast and are cleaning up.
Nathan
"Thank you Grandma for breakfast."
Melanie
"Yes thank you."
Nick
"Thank you Aunt Maggie."
Maggie
"You all are very welcome. And thank you all for helping clean up."
Nathan
"Well Melanie, we better get to work."
Melanie
"Yes. I'm so glad we're working the same shift."
Nathan
"Me too."
They smile at one another.
Maggie
"So Nick, what are you going to do?"
Nick
"I'm going to look for a job."
Maggie
"Oh that's good. So where are you going to look at?"
Nick
"I think I'm going to start at the hospital."
Nick turns and smiles at Nathan and Melanie. Nathan doesn't look too happy.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ
"I doubt I'll get to see Sydney and Chad doesn't want to talk to me."
Stefano
"You can see Sydney and as for Chad, who could blame him? You disowned him after learning the truth."
EJ
"Excuse me for not believing that he could be my son."
Stefano
"Well he is and you better make an effort to be in his life and find a way to get my granddaughter back from the hateful bitch."
EJ
"I will do everything in my power to do just that."
Stefano
"Very well."
Nicole walks in and interrupts.
Nicole
"Morning everyone."
EJ and Stefano look at her.
EJ
"And where did you go so early this morning?"
Nicole
"Court."
Nicole pours herself some water.
EJ
"Court? For what?"
Nicole turns around and takes a sip of her water.
Nicole
"Phillip's arraignment."
Stefano and EJ laugh.
Stefano
"What did Phillip do this time?"
Nicole
"Run me over. Well that's what the DA thinks he did, but I there's no evidence and I can't believe Phillip would do that to me."
Stefano
"He's a Kiriakis. Of course he would."
Nicole
"Phillip is my friend."
EJ
"Phillip is a moron."
Nicole
"He is not."
EJ
"Let me guess, you helped him."
Nicole
"Of course. He's free to be with Chloe and be a father to my godchild."
Stefano
"This conversation is annoying me. I've got some business to take care of."
EJ
"Have fun."
Stefano leaves. EJ stares at Nicole.
Nicole
"So are you just going to stare at me for the rest of the day?"
EJ
"No, I have something I need to handle."
EJ's phone rings. He answers.
EJ
"Hello?"
EJ pauses.
EJ
"Really? Are you sure that was Chad? Really? Ok thanks."
EJ hangs up.
Nicole
"Are you spying on your own son?"
EJ
"It's not spying."
Nicole
"Why don't you just get to know him like a normal person? You know sit down, talk, have breakfast, lunch, dinner…now I'm hungry. Are you hungry?"
EJ
"No."
Nicole
"Fine, I'll go get something to eat myself."
Nicole heads to the kitchen. EJ turns to face the fireplace and sees a picture of Johnny and Sydney sitting on top. He walks over to it and picks it up. He stares at it for a moment before he holds it close to his heart and begins to cry. Nicole walks back into the room and interrupts.
Nicole
"EJ, cook made some…"
She stops when she sees EJ crying.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Stephanie is putting something in her purse when Vivian and Gus walk back into the living with Henderson. Stephanie turns around.
Vivian
"Henderson, clean this up."
Vivian points to the mess on the floor.
Henderson
"Yes Mrs. Kiriakis."
Henderson bends down to clean up the mess. Vivian looks at Stephanie.
Vivian
"You're still here?"
Stephanie picks up her purse and turns to Stephanie.
Stephanie
"I was just leaving."
Vivian
"Well goodbye."
Stephanie starts to walk away, but stops and turns back around.
Stephanie
"I can't wait for you to get yours."
Vivian
"Whatever you say darling."
Stephanie turns back around and walks out the door. As she walks away from the house, someone is watching her from the bushes. Back inside, Henderson is finished cleaning up the mess as Vivian pours herself another drink.
Vivian
"Gus"
Gus
"Yes madam"
Vivian turns around with her drink.
Vivian
"Can you head upstairs and make sure I grabbed all my bags?"
Gus
"Yes madam"
Gus heads upstairs as Vivian enjoys her drink. She takes a few sips then sighs.
Vivian
"This is some good stuff."
She goes to take another sip then starts choking.
