EJ puts the picture back on the mantel and wipes his tears.
Nicole
"What's wrong EJ?"
EJ
"Nothing's wrong."
He says as he walks over to pour himself a drink.
Nicole
"Then why are you crying? And don't tell me that you have something in your eye or you have allergies."
EJ downs his drink as Nicole walks up to him.
Nicole
"Because I know that it's neither. So tell me the truth. You know me. I'm going to keep pushing you and pushing you till you explode."
EJ
"JOHNNY'S NOT MY SON"
He yells. Nicole's shocked and confused at the same time.
LUCAS' ROOM
Kate walks in.
Kate
"So all your testing is done?"
Lucas
"Yes. Everything is good and Johnny's good."
Kate
"I did get a little peak at him before the doctors went in."
Lucas
"So what were you and Sami talking about?"
Kate
"I didn't talk to Sami."
Lucas
"Do you really want me to believe that?"
Kate
"Fine, I told her that I know that she's up to something and it's only a matter of time before Rafe finds out about it and leaves her pathetic ass."
Lucas stares angrily at Kate. Around the corner, Sami's checking her messages when she trips and falls on the floor.
Sami
"What the hell?"
Sami looks over to see what she tripped over and notices Phillip unconscious on the floor."
Sami
"Oh my gosh Phillip."
She crawls over to him to check his pulse.
Sami
"Oh good. You're still breathing."
She looks at her fingers and sees blood. She screams.
Sami
"Help, I need a doctor."
Rex is walking down the hall when he hears Sami's screams. He rushes over.
Rex
"Sami, are you ok?"
He looks down.
Rex
"Who's this? Is he ok?"
Sami
"I'm fine, but Phillip's not."
Rex
"Phillip?"
Rex kneels down beside Phillip.
NURSE'S STATION
Nathan is on his phone making plans.
Nathan
"Yeah, for two? Great thanks."
He hangs up just as Melanie walks up.
Melanie
"What are you up to?"
She smiles. Nathan turns around with a frown.
Melanie
"Are you still mad at me?"
Nathan takes a deep breath
Nathan
"Yes"
Melanie seems disappointed.
JAVA CAFÉ
Stephanie is about to walk into the Java Café till she stops and turns and turns around. She has a feeling that someone is following her.
Stephanie
"Hello?"
She looks around, but doesn't see anyone around. She turns back around to walk into Java Café when she bumps into Chloe and gets Chloe's tea all over her.
Chloe
"Stephanie, I'm so sorry."
Stephanie
"You bitch"
Stephanie shouts. Chloe's shocked.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM
Bo walks off the elevator and Gus. He walks over to him.
Bo
"Gus?"
Gus
"Yes that's right. And you're Commissioner Bo Brady."
Bo
"Yes I am. I would like to ask you a few questions about Vivian."
Gus
"She was poisoned."
Daniel walks over. Bo looks at Daniel.
Bo
"Is this true?"
Daniel
"Yes it is. Vivian has been poisoned."
DIMERA MANSION
Nicole
"What do you mean Johnny's not your son?"
EJ
"He's not."
EJ pours himself another drink."
Nicole
"Explain."
EJ looks over at Nicole.
EJ
"Johnny needed a partial liver and I wanted to get tested to see if I was a match, but Daniel and Lexie found out that not only I'm not a match, but Johnny and I didn't share any of the same markers. This means there is no way that he and I are related. Lucas on the other hand, perfect match."
EJ downs his drink and pours another.
Nicole
"I didn't know Johnny was sick."
EJ
"He isn't."
Nicole
"Then why did he need a partial liver transplant?"
EJ
"He got hit by a car."
Nicole
"When?"
EJ downs another drink.
EJ
"Last night."
Nicole
"And you're just telling me this now?"
EJ
"Well you haven't been home. By the way, where have you been?"
Nicole
"I was helping a friend. Not that it's any of your business."
EJ
"This is coming from the person that just came in and demanded to know what was wrong with me."
Nicole
"I was concerned."
EJ
"Concerned? It was more like being nosy."
EJ pours himself another drink.
EJ
"What friend were you helping out anyways, the good Dr. Baker?"
Nicole
"No, I wasn't up to anything."
EJ chuckles.
EJ
"Am I supposed to believe that? You are Nicole Walker after all."
EJ downs another drink.
Nicole
"Oh and this is coming from EJ DiMera? Emphasis on DiMera."
EJ
"So how were you helping this so called friend?"
Nicole
"I helped get Phillip out of jail."
EJ
"What did the Kiriakis Prince do this time?"
Nicole
"The Salem PD seems to think that he ran me over, but I don't think so."
EJ
"What? Phillip ran you over?"
Nicole
"No, he couldn't have."
EJ
"Why are you so sure if the police think so?"
Nicole
"You know the Salem PD are not the brightest bulbs in the lamp."
EJ
"So there was no evidence?"
Nicole
"Just a videotape."
EJ
"Of?"
Nicole
"A car similar to Phillip's hitting me."
EJ
"I'm sure they could have got the make and model off the car."
Nicole
"I'm sure also, but the videotape disappeared for some time who knows what could have happened for all we know that's not the original. It could have been doctored or changed somehow."
EJ
"That was Justin's defense?"
Nicole
"That and I defended Phillip as well."
EJ burst out laughing.
Nicole
"What the hell is so funny?"
EJ
"That's the dumbest thing I've heard in my life."
Nicole
"Well he got off so it worked."
EJ
"Bravo for Phillip."
EJ goes to pour himself another drink, but Nicole stops him.
LUCAS' ROOM
Lucas
"Of course after everything that has happened in the last day you would have to say something like that to Sami."
Kate
"I still don't like her so yes."
Lucas
"I can't believe you. You just can't let it go can you?"
Kate
"It's not like I was telling lies. Sami can't keep a man if he was a STD."
Sami busts in. Kate and Lucas look at her.
Kate
"Speaking of the devil."
Sami
"Kate, you have to come quick."
Lucas
"What's wrong?"
Sami
"It's Phillip, I found him unconscious."
Lucas
"Oh my gosh."
Kate
"Did you just leave him there?"
Sami
"No, Rex is helping him."
Kate
"I have to go see him."
Lucas
"Me too."
Kate and Sami rush over to Lucas who's trying to get out of bed.
Kate
"Oh no, you're not going anywhere."
Sami
"Kate and I agree on something."
Lucas
"I need to see Phillip."
Kate
"You will later. Right now you're going to stay in bed."
Sami
"Yes and I'm going to stay with you."
Kate
"I can't believe I'm condoning this, but if it'll keep you put."
Sami
"Oh I'll keep him on his back."
Kate glares at Sami.
Kate
"I'm going to see how Philip is doing and I'll be back with an update."
Kate walks out of Lucas' room.
Lucas
"How bad was it?"
Sami
"He was still unconscious when Rex and the nurses got him off the floor and he was bleeding."
Lucas looks worried.
Sami
"I'm sorry. I got him help as soon as I saw him."
Lucas
"I know."
Sami sits on the side of the bed and hugs Lucas.
JAVA CAFE
Chloe
"I said I was sorry. No need to call me names."
Stephanie
"You should be used to it by now don't you think?"
Chloe
"I don't know what your problem is, but I wish you wouldn't take it out on me."
Stephanie
"You're exactly who I should be taking it out on."
Chloe
"Because I spilled my coffee on you?"
Stephanie
"No because you slept with Phillip and got pregnant giving Melanie a good reason to sink her nails in Nathan."
Chloe
"Oh yes it's my fault that Nathan wanted to be with Melanie? No. Go take it up with him. What Phillip and I did was wrong, but it happened and it's fine."
Stephanie
"Fine for you. You get to carry the Kiriakis golden child and I'm all alone."
Chloe
"Nathan is not the only guy in town. Find another one."
Stephanie
"It might be that easy for you, but it's not for me."
Chloe
"Well I'm sorry. Hopefully you'll get over it one day. One day soon."
Chloe starts to walk away, but Stephanie grabs her arm.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM
Daniel
"Vivian is now in a coma and we're not sure when or if she will come out of it."
Bo looks over at Gus.
Bo
"Did Vivian drink or eat anything this morning?"
Gus
"We both had the same thing for breakfast as well as Mr. Kiriakis."
Daniel
"Are you feeling sick at all?"
Gus
"No I'm fine. I'm only upset about Vivian."
Bo
"What about to drink?"
Gus pauses to think.
Gus
"Yes. I went upstairs to go upstairs to make sure she grabbed all her bags and she said she was going to make a drink."
Bo
"Did anyone come pass this morning? Anyone out of the ordinary?"
Gus thinks.
Gus
"Yes a woman came pass this morning and was very angry with madam."
Bo
"Who?"
Daniel gets a page.
Daniel
"I gotta take this."
Bo
"It's fine. I'll meet up with you later."
Daniel
"Ok."
Daniel walks off. Bo focuses his attention back to Gus.
Bo
"So who visited Vivian this morning?"
Gus
"Her name was Stephanie."
Bo seems confused.
NURSE'S STATION
Melanie
"Can we talk about it?"
Nathan
"We might as well since you spoiled the surprise."
Melanie
"What surprise?"
Nathan
"I got us a room at the Salem Inn tonight."
Melanie smiles.
Melanie
"Oh really?"
Nathan smiles back.
Nathan
"Yes really."
Melanie
"Aww, that's sweet."
Nathan
"Yeah, I thought that we could use some time alone. You know without Aunt Maggie or…"
Melanie
"...Nick."
Nathan
"It was getting kind of crowded."
Melanie
"Yeah. Maybe we can get our own place?"
Nathan and Melanie smile at each other.
Melanie
"I saw that they're some new apartments that are about to open up."
Nathan
"I would like that a lot."
Melanie
"Cool maybe we can go looking tomorrow?"
Nathan
"Yeah we could do that."
Rex rushes in with Phillip on a stretcher.
Rex
"Clear the way"
He yells. Melanie and Nathan look over.
Nathan
"Oh my gosh. Is that?"
Melanie
"Phillip?"
Melanie freezes.
Melanie and Nathan rush over.
Nathan
"What happened?"
Rex
"Looks like a blow to the head. We're going to examine him in exam room 1."
Nathan
"I'll help."
Rex
"Ok."
Rex and Nathan roll Philip into the room and close the curtain. Melanie takes a deep breath then pulls out her phone as Kate walks up.
Kate
"Melanie, do you know…"
Melanie
"…about Phillip? Yeah he's in there."
Kate turns and starts to walk away, but Melanie stops her.
Melanie
"But you can't go in there."
Kate looks at her.
Melanie
"Nathan and Dr. Brady will fix him."
Kate
"I know. Rex will do whatever to help him."
Melanie
"Oh yes Rex is your son."
Kate
"Yeah and he hasn't bothered to talk to me."
Rex walks out of the room.
Kate
"But he will now."
Kate walks over to him. Melanie dials a number on her phone.
JAVA CAFÉ
Stephanie
"I hope you get what's coming to you one day like Vivian and Phillip."
Chloe yanks her arm away from Stephanie. Stephanie smiles then walks into Java Café.
Chloe
"Crazy bitch."
Chloe says to herself out loud. Then her phone rings. She answers without looking at the id.
Chloe
"Hello?"
Melanie
"Hey Chloe, it's Melanie."
Chloe
"Melanie?"
Melanie
"Yeah I know. It's weird that I'm calling you, but I thought you would want to know that…um…Phillip is in the hospital."
Chloe
"Yeah I know. He told me about Lucas and Johnny."
Melanie
"No it's not about that. It's…Sami found him unconscious. It looks like someone hit him over the head with something."
Chloe stands silently.
Melanie
"Chloe?"
Chloe snaps out of it.
Chloe
"I'm on my way."
Chloe hangs up and rushes off. Stephanie walks out of Java Café and watches Chloe take off.
DIMERA MANSION
Nicole
"I think you've had enough."
She touches his wrist. He looks at her. They stare at each other for a moment till he pulls her into a kiss. Nicole pushes him away then slaps him. EJ rubs his jaw.
Nicole
"You were just laughing at me."
EJ
"I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at the situation."
Nicole
"You think it's funny I got hit by a car?"
EJ rubs Nicole's shoulders.
EJ
"No darling. I don't think it's funny you got ran over."
Nicole
"You better not."
EJ
"I'm sorry for laughing."
Nicole
"And I'm sorry about Johnny."
EJ
"It's fine."
EJ stops rubbing her shoulders and sits down on the couch.
Nicole
"No it's not. You thought he was your son and now he's not. And I'm sure you want to be at the hospital right now with him."
EJ
"I would like to, but it's not my place anymore."
Nicole sits next to him.
Nicole
"You might not be Johnny's biological father, but you are the only father that boy has known. He's not going to just forget you and move on because Lucas is."
EJ
"There's nothing I can do about it anyways. Samantha won't let me get anywhere near him ever again. I don't even know how he's doing."
Nicole
"I'm sure Kate could fill you in."
EJ
"I doubt it."
Nicole
"We can think of something then."
EJ
"We?"
Nicole
"Yes we are at our best when we work as a team."
EJ
"Is Salem ready for that?"
Nicole
"I don't know."
EJ and Nicole smile at one another. They move closer to each other and kiss. They stop and gaze into each other's eyes. EJ then takes Nicole's hand and leads her upstairs.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Chloe arrives at the hospital. She gets out of her car and heads for the elevator when she hears a noise. She stops and looks around. She doesn't see anyone so she continues walking till she hears another noise. She turns around.
Chloe
"Hello? Is someone there?"
Someone walks out from behind some cars dressed in all black.
Chloe
"Can I help you?"
The person pulls out a knife then starts walking towards Chloe. Chloe panics. She turns around and runs to the elevator. The person takes off after her. Chloe gets to the elevator and repeatedly pushes the up button hoping it will open. She turns and sees the person getting closer. She turns back around just as the elevator doors open. She rushes in just as the person grabs her. She tries to break loose, but the person's grip is strong. After struggling for a bit, Chloe's able to break free and falls into the elevator as the person falls on the outside of the elevator. Chloe and the person get up at the same time. Chloe rushes to close the doors. The doors begin to close just as the person is able to stab her. Chloe falls to the back of the elevator as she holds her belly. She slowly pulls her hand away and sees her hand covered in blood. She screams and slides down to the floor.
NURSE'S STATION
Kate questions Rex about Phillip's condition.
Kate
"So Rex, how's Phillip?"
Rex
"We stopped the bleeding. I paged Dr. Jonas to make sure everything's to check the x-rays, but I think Phillip is just fine."
Kate
"I'm glad. I was so worried when Sami told me about it."
Rex
"When I saw him, I was too."
Kate
"Well you never stay in touch."
Rex
"I will for now on."
Kate
"Good. Can I go see him?"
Rex
"Yes you can."
Kate walks into Phillip's room. Rex gets on his phone and calls Mimi. She doesn't answer so he leaves a message.
Rex
"Hey Mimi, uh, call me when you get this. I have some news."
Rex hangs up. Nathan walks up to Melanie.
Melanie
"How's Phillip?"
Nathan
"He's doing just fine."
Melanie
"Oh thank goodness."
Melanie and Nathan hug.
DIMERA MANSION
EJ and Nicole climb into bed together. They kiss softly as they make love between the sheets alternating positions.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM
Bo
"Does Stephanie have a last name?"
Gus
"I'm not sure."
Gus looks at the elevator as Stephanie walks off.
Gus
"It was her."
Bo turns around and sees Stephanie. She looks over them and smiles. Bo looks at Gus.
Bo
"She was at the mansion?"
Gus
"Yes arguing with Vivian because she thinks she had something to do with some guy breaking up with her."
Bo seems confused.
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Daniel waits for the elevator. The elevator doors open and he sees Chloe lying on the floor. He rushes in to check on her.
Daniel
"Chloe? Chloe?"
He says as he holds her in his arms.
