EJ is sitting in the living room enjoying some tea and reading over some files when Harold walks in.
Harold
"Mr. DiMera"
EJ
"Yes Harold."
He says without even looking up from his files.
Harold
"Chad Peterson is here to see you."
EJ
"Send him in."
Harold walks out and Chad walks in. EJ is still more interested in his files, but feels Chad's presence.
EJ
"Chad, it's so nice of you to drop by."
Chad
"Like I had a choice. Your goons dragged me here."
EJ smiles and closes up his files and places them on the table. He looks at Chad.
EJ
"Would you have come on your own?"
Chad
"Nope."
EJ stands up.
EJ:
"Then it's a good thing I sent my...um..."
Chad
"Goons?"
EJ
"Yes them."
Chad
"What do you want…dad?"
EJ
"Ah, dad. I like the sound of that."
Chad
"You didn't care a few weeks ago."
EJ
"Times have changed. Let's get over that and look towards the future."
Chad
"And what does the future hold?"
EJ
"You and I working together."
Chad
"You want me to work at DiMera?"
EJ
"One day, but first you need to prove to me you can handle being a DiMera."
Chad
"You want me to kill someone?"
EJ
"We are not killers"
Chad
"Oh I'm sorry. Would you like me to order someone to kill someone for you?"
EJ
"This has nothing to do with ending someone's life."
Chad
"Then what is it about?"
EJ
"Me getting to see Johnny."
Chad
"How can I help you with that?"
EJ
"You're friends with William. You can get me in."
Chad
"I'm not going to help you get anywhere near Will's brother."
EJ
"I was that boy's father all of his life."
Chad
"And now you're not. Get over it. I'm your only son."
EJ
"You're going to do it."
Chad
"And what if I don't?"
EJ
"I'll have to tell Gabriella about your make out session at the masquerade ball."
Chad freezes.
EJ
"Oh, didn't think I knew about that?"
Chad
"I don't know what you're talking about."
EJ
"I think you do."
Chad
"Gabi would never believe you anyways."
EJ
"I think she will. I have proof."
Chad
"Whatever. You can show her whatever. She won't believe you. No one will. You're just a liar and I don't want to have anything to do with you."
EJ
"Yes you will. You're my son.
Chad
"Oh now I'm your son."
EJ
"I know I screwed things up at first."
Chad
"And you're still screwing things up. I'm leaving now."
Chad turns and walks out of the living room. EJ watches as he leaves. Chad walks out of the door as Nicole walks downstairs. She walks into the living room as EJ pours himself a drink.
Nicole
"So how did your meeting with your son go?"
EJ swallows his whole drink then pours another.
Nicole
"That bad, huh?"
EJ
"He doesn't want to work with me."
Nicole
"At DiMera?"
EJ
"No, at seeing Johnny."
Nicole
"You don't need Chad to see Johnny."
EJ looks over at Nicole.
Nicole
"I can get you in to see Johnny."
EJ
"How?"
Nicole
"Come to the hospital with me and I'll show you."
EJ smiles.
Nicole
"I have an appointment in a little bit."
EJ
"Is everything ok with the baby?"
Nicole
"Yep it's just a checkup and I might get to know whether I'm carrying a boy or a girl."
EJ
"I will love to go, but I have to take care of one thing before I can."
Nicole
"That's cool. I'm going to head to Java Café before I go. I have a craving for their blueberry muffins."
EJ
"Well buy as many as you like."
Nicole
"I will."
EJ and Nicole kiss then look into each other's eyes and smile.
EJ
"Well I better get going."
Nicole
"Yes. 1 hour."
EJ
"One hour."
Nicole grabs her purse. EJ watches as she walks out the door. EJ's phone rings. He answers.
EJ
"Hello? He's in town? Good. Make an appointment so that I and my father can speak with him. Thank you."
EJ hangs up.
EJ
"Well things are about to get interesting."
Jamie is lying on her bed when there's a knock at her door. She gets up to answer it. She opens the door and it's her cousin Aaron.
Jamie
"Aaron, finally you made it here."
She moves out the way so he can come in.
Aaron
"Sorry, I had some business to take care of."
Jamie closes the door and walks towards Aaron.
Jamie
"More important than me?"
Aaron
"I took care of you. Everything is all cleaned up. No one will ever suspect you, but you need to get out of town tonight."
Aaron goes into his jacket pocket and pulls out a plane ticket and hands it to Jamie.
Jamie
"I can't leave town yet. I have some stuff I need to take care of first."
Aaron
"Like what? Mia? I'll handle her."
Jamie
"No. I need to meet with Stephanie Johnson."
Aaron
"Who's she? And why do you need to talk with her?"
Jamie
"She's the bitch that killed my husband."
Aaron
"Eddie? I'm sure he deserved it."
Jamie
"No he didn't. That slut tried to have sex with him and when he didn't want to, she killed him."
Aaron
"Is that what the police said happened?"
Jamie
"No, they said that he tried to rape her and she was just defending herself."
Aaron
"Then I'm sure that's what happened."
Jamie
"I can't believe you're going against me."
Aaron
"I can't believe that you're defending that loser."
Jamie
"He was my husband."
Aaron
"Yes one of your many…many mistakes. Look, forget about this Stephanie Johnson woman and just leave town."
Jamie
"Fine. Give me an hour to pack."
Aaron
"Your plane leaves in 3 hours. Be on it. I'm going to see Mia."
Jamie
"Oh have fun with that."
Aaron kisses Jamie on the forehead then walks out the door.
Joy sits in the park near Salem High School daydreaming about her kiss with Chad. Mia interrupts.
Mia
"Joy"
Joy jumps.
Mia
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."
Joy
"Hey Mia. It's fine. How are you?"
Mia
"I'm good."
Mia says all smiles.
Mia
"What are you thinking about?"
Joy
"What do you mean?"
Mia
"You seemed deep in thought when I walked up."
Joy
"Oh, I was just thinking about this project I have to do."
Mia
"That wasn't a project thinking moment. Did you meet a boy?"
Joy
"What? Me? No."
Mia
"You don't have to deny it Joy. We're besties. You can tell me anything."
Mia states as she places her hand on Joy's shoulder.
Joy
"Ok. Well I didn't meet him at school. I met him at the ball."
Mia
"Tell me more."
Mia says getting comfortable.
Joy
"He walked up behind me, turned me around and kissed me."
Mia
"Just like that?"
Joy
"Yeah just like that. Unfortunately he thought I was someone else."
Mia
"Ooh sorry."
Joy
"Oh well."
Mia
"Was he cute at least?"
Joy
"I guess. I didn't get to see his face. He had a mask on."
Mia
"Of course. It was a masquerade ball."
Joy
"Yes. I wish I knew who he was. Though it wouldn't matter. He's obviously taken."
Mia
"Not too taken if he's making out with you."
Joy
"But he didn't know that I wasn't the one that he wanted."
Mia
"If a guy can't recognize his girlfriend or date or whatever then he can't be that into her. Just saying."
Joy
"So you think I have a chance."
Mia
"Of course you do."
Joy
"But how do I find out who he was?"
Mia puts her arm around Joy.
Mia
"You leave that to me."
Joy
"You would help me out?"
Mia
"Yes of course. Didn't I tell you we're besties?"
Joy
"Yeah"
Mia
"Then okay then."
Joy
"Thank you Mia. You're so nice."
Mia
"I aim to please."
Joy stands up.
Joy
"Well sorry, but I have to get home and do my homework. I've got a lot to catch up on."
Mia
"No problem. Have fun."
Joy
"Oh I will. Bye."
Joy waves before walking off. Mia waves back. She waits until Joy's out of sight before rolling her eyes.
Mia
"Besties? Ha Ha. More like keep your friend's close and your enemies closer."
Mia smiles. Aaron walks up to her.
Aaron
"Mia"
She looks over at him.
Mia
"Dad."
Aaron
"Long time no see."
Mia
"Not long enough."
Mia gets up and tries to walk away, but Aaron stops her.
Mia
"Let go of me."
Aaron
"No, not until you hear what I have to say."
Mia
"I already heard it all from Jamie. I don't need to hear it from you too."
Aaron
"I know and I'm sorry for never telling you that Carol wasn't your mom."
Mia
"And sorry is supposed to make everything all better?"
Aaron
"No, I know I have some work to do."
Mia
"You can work all you want, but I don't care. Leave me alone."
Mia turns to walk away.
Aaron
"Your real mother died."
Mia turns back around.
Aaron
"She died not too long after you were born. I met Carol a few months later and she wanted to be your mom."
Mia
"She didn't act like it sometimes."
Aaron
"Well you don't make things easy."
Mia
"She turned her back on me when I got pregnant with Grace."
Aaron
"You had a girl?"
Mia
"Yeah and she was very beautiful and sweet."
Aaron
"Was?"
Mia
"She died."
Aaron
"I'm sorry."
Mia
"There's that word again."
Aaron
"I won't say it again."
Mia
"Thank you."
Aaron
"Do you want to know your mother's name?"
Mia
"Yeah."
Aaron's about to say her name, but Mia interrupts him.
Mia
"You know what? I don't care. She's dead and I need to go do my homework or something."
Aaron
"Ok, can we talk later?"
Mia walks away without answering.
Nicole's at Java Café getting her muffins. She turns around and Brady's standing behind her. They smile at one another.
Nicole
"Brady"
Brady
"Nicole"
Nicole
"Nice to see you."
Brady
"Nice to see you also. How are you and the baby doing?"
Nicole
"We're great. We're about to go to the hospital for a checkup. Do you want to come?"
Brady
"Oh I can't. I have a meeting to go to."
Nicole
"Oh."
Nicole feels down. Brady notices.
Brady
"Maybe I can call you later or you call me later and we can talk about it?"
Nicole smiles.
Nicole
"I would like that."
Brady
"Cool…um…I let you text you when I'm done."
Nicole
"Sounds great."
Brady
"Ok. I'll talk to you later."
Nicole
"Ok. Bye Brady."
Brady
"Bye."
Brady walks passed Nicole to order some coffee. She checks him out as he goes pass then walks out with her muffins. Just as she walks out, she walks pass Aaron. Nicole stops to check her phone as Aaron turns and looks at her. He walks up to her.
Aaron
"Excuse me."
Nicole turns around.
Aaron
"Oh my goodness, it is you."
Nicole seems confused.
Nicole
"Do I know you?"
Aaron
"Yes. It's me. Aaron. I've missed you so much."
Nicole
"I'm sorry, but you must have me mistaken with someone else."
Aaron
"No I don't. You really don't remember me Misty?"
Nicole freezes.
Nicole
"That's not my name."
Aaron tries to touch her, but Nicole jumps back.
Nicole
"Get away from me."
She screams. Brady walks out and sees them. He rushes over.
Aaron
"Misty, there's so much I need to tell you."
Brady
"Get away from her."
Brady pushes Aaron away from Nicole.
Aaron
"Hey, I just wanted to talk to her."
Brady
"Well she doesn't want you to talk to you so get lost."
Aaron
"Who the hell are you? Batman?"
Brady
"No, the father of her child."
Nicole and Aaron are surprised.
Aaron
"What a surprise. I…"
Brady
"Are getting lost? Yes. Goodbye."
Aaron
"Fine, I'm gone."
Aaron looks at Nicole.
Aaron
"I want to talk to you again Misty. There's a lot we have to discuss."
Brady
"Go"
Brady says as he shields Nicole from Aaron. Aaron walks away. Brady waits till Aaron's out of sight before he checks on Nicole.
Brady
"Are you okay?"
Nicole
"Yeah I'm fine. Thanks."
Brady
"Do you know that guy?"
Nicole
"No, I don't think so. He called me Misty."
Brady
"Yeah I heard."
Nicole
"Probably some low life that worked for my dad."
Brady
"Probably. Do you need me to take you to the hospital?"
Brady asks as EJ walks up.
EJ
"That won't be necessary. She has me."
EJ smiles.
Nicole
"EJ, I thought we were going to meet at the hospital?"
EJ
"I thought I'd meet you here."
Nicole
"Well that's sweet."
EJ
"That's me. Sweet EJ. Come on darling, we don't want to be late."
Nicole walks over to EJ. He pulls her into a kiss then puts his arms around her and looks at Brady who seems disgusted which made EJ even happier.
EJ
"We need to see how our baby is doing."
Brady watches as EJ rubs Nicole's belly.
Brady
"Are we still on for tonight, right Nicole?"
EJ squints his eyes.
Nicole
"Of course."
Brady
"Good. I'll text you then."
Nicole
"Ok"
Nicole tries to hide her smile.
Brady
"I'll see you later then."
Brady slaps EJ's shoulder as he walks away.
Nicole
"We better get going too."
Nicole starts walking.
EJ
"You and Brady later?"
Nicole turns around.
Nicole
"He just wants to talk about the baby."
EJ
"Our baby?"
Nicole
"Brady could be the father too."
EJ
"He's not though. I am. And it's about time we do a DNA test to determine that."
Nicole
"Fine."
EJ
"Good."
EJ walks away. Nicole looks disappointed.
